It looked a bit dangerous. After thinking about it, I went to the boy's side first, moved him to the ground, and sat him down with his back to the stone platform.
Although the sitting posture was still uncomfortable, at least the potential danger was avoided.
The other one was still curled up in one place, completely beyond my concern. The only slightly frightening thing was that a layer of murderous aura suddenly began to swirl around it, expanding and contracting intermittently. It was probably fighting someone in its daydream again.
I can't control him, I can't wake him up, and I'm afraid of being beaten, so I can only leave him alone.
Shaking my head and flicking away the long, blue hair that had quietly wrapped around my wrist, I turned my gaze back to the sky once more.
Although exploring the boundaries of the inner sanctum yielded ambiguous answers, tracing the flow of magic was not entirely fruitless.
Just like what I encountered in the Abyss Mountains, the chaotic flow of magic, though appearing and disappearing intermittently and drifting erratically, is ultimately just a special phenomenon that can be predicted and summarized into patterns.
The only regrettable thing is that, because the overall area of the inner hall is not very large, the overall sampling space is relatively small and the number of samples is not large enough, there will inevitably be considerable errors or omissions in the estimation. However, we can also be thankful that we do not have to run back and forth in a vast space, which saves us from the hardship of walking.
Furthermore, there seems to be an invisible barrier in mid-air here...
Why is there a barrier there that blocks perception and the outward transmission of magic?
I paused for a moment, then immediately realized something was wrong.
I had just thought that the inner walls, coated with a special powder, were hindering perception and the transmission of magic. However, right now, above our heads, a transparent dome, almost covering the entire inner sanctum, quietly exists, isolating us from all perception and influence from the inside and outside. Not even the slightest thread of magic.
Judging from the current state, it is as if the collapsed dome still exists there, silently overlooking this site of ruins that has been preserved to this day.
The rushing sound suddenly intensified, then was torn apart by several distinct noises interspersed throughout. It was like the crackling of a whip lightly striking the air, or like a thin sword cutting through the flow of water, leaving behind a faint hum.
I wanted to find out the reason why the two of them were hallucinating, but the fluctuating flow of unease repeatedly disrupted the magical flow that I had finally managed to track, like a sound that I had been listening to being cut into several scattered and chaotic pieces.
Well, I have to admit, this is incredibly disruptive to my work.
The promised team mission turned into individual battles, and what should have been a collaborative effort suddenly became a zero-sum game. Nothing went smoothly.
I feel like I need to rest.
Logically, I should have regained consciousness by now, but today seems to have dragged on exceptionally long, and I'm still trapped here. It's likely a backlash from using all my magic simultaneously and overdrawing my power.
Feeling a bit frustrated, I eventually ended up back where I started.
Anyway, those two guys have relevant experience, so even without my help, they can unlock this quest loop sooner or later and move on to the next one, right? So I just need to wait patiently here for a while longer... Such thoughts flashed through my mind, but in the end, they didn't prevail.
I cannot turn away and ignore what is happening right in front of me.
Half of my concern was about what changes might occur later, and the other half was curiosity.
Ultimately, I don't actually have much of a grasp of the situation here.
Although the description and packaging of [Simulated Magic Ring] suggest that this world has been destroyed, and people have come together to try to eliminate the tasks that will bring destruction, while avoiding interference from outsiders, based on my experience over the past few days, its greatest significance to me is nothing more than a slight increase in my control over magic power and some help in learning spells.
Although there were moments when I panicked because of the various creatures that appeared when I was face-to-face with the game, in terms of a deeper sense of immersion, it was ultimately dispensable. Even if I deleted it all, it wouldn't seem to cause any major problems, and it might even be more convenient.
...Although it might be a bit boring.
Ultimately, why would someone specifically create a world here within the [Simulated Dharma Ring]?
Originally, I hoped that my advisor's advice would help with my promotion, but so far, I haven't seen any results. It seems the timing wasn't right, or perhaps there are other reasons...
The sounds echoing in my ears were intermittent and discordant once again. I initially thought it was just something Sheng or Jian Gui had done and didn't want to pay any more attention to it, but it appeared again after a few seconds, with a frequency completely different from before.
Frowning, I turned my head and opened my eyes in surprise, trying to confirm whether what was happening in front of me was real.
On the white wall opposite the entrance, a bright green head suddenly appeared, followed by a pair of bewildered eyes.
"Huh? Why did you appear from there?"
"...That's the question I should be asking you."
Sal asked the question blankly, then took a few steps forward. At my prompting, he subconsciously looked back and was so startled that he sat down on his bottom.
"Wow! Why did I suddenly emerge from the stone wall? Where am I?"
He shouted as he quickly pressed himself against the stone wall he had crawled out of, trying to return the way he came. However, just like the previous times I had tried, no matter how hard he braced himself against the wall, the solid white wall remained unmoved, as if no one had ever emerged from it.
