Chapter 32 The Eve of the Storm

"...You're just being vain!"

I rolled my eyes, somewhat exasperated, but regained my composure and nodded my thanks to him: "I have other things to do. I hope to see you again next time I come here."

Rhodes waved his hand dismissively: "Don't talk like I'm about to die. Go on, be careful."

I carried him, tapped the magic stone, opened the door again, and walked out. After a short rest, I looked around and saw Shen Xue, who had recovered most of her health but was still a little pale, walking towards me.

"Is everything done?"

Miyuki raised an eyebrow. I noticed that her hand, which was resting on the hilt of the sword, was still trembling slightly, as if she had not fully recovered her strength.

"The message has been delivered, and the transit hub has begun to take action." I nodded, with a slight sigh. "It's a pity I haven't signed a contract with a messenger who can travel quickly between the spirit world and the void. Otherwise, the speed could be even faster, and the message could even be spread to several other cities further away."

Shenxue shook her head: "It's already good enough. I just hope the beast tide arrives later, so more cities can make the necessary preparations. All that's left is to wait."

And it is only the waiting that is even more unbearable.

With a sigh, I inquired about Miyuki's condition again and received the reply that she was "able to engage in some less intense battles." After a moment's thought, I decisively chose to do as the flower fairy had suggested and inserted the stem of that little pink flower into the ground.

With such excellent combat power, I don't want her to be accidentally injured during her recovery period.

I held my breath and waited for two seconds. Just when I thought nothing would happen, a series of tremors suddenly came from underground. Then, countless green vines shot up into the sky, intertwined and dyed themselves, and actually formed... a huge cuboid supported by four wheels.

What is this thing? There are two handles at the front of the cart, but what is this hollowed-out rectangular box in the middle? Is it a partially sealed coffin? Am I supposed to sit or lie down inside?!

What a hassle!

The voice of the flower fairy suddenly rang in my mind. Soon, the cuboid in front of me began to rustle and deform, with two long handles and a few panels growing out of the front, and a flower window cut out in the middle for ventilation.

"Where's the horse?" I asked again.

Another rustling sound came from the ground, and another vine sprouted out and wove itself in a way that I didn't understand. Soon, a lifelike chestnut horse appeared in front of us. It could put on its own reins and even snort. Apart from some parts being slightly bluish in color, it looked fine.

"Is this alright? Stop arguing and get in the car. I've sent someone to wait for us," the flower fairy urged.

She greeted the stunned and speechless Shen Xue, and soon, the makeshift "vine carriage" began to move merrily.
