Chapter 84 Dramatic Development

"Finally, there are those who ascend to the throne of the world, those who leave a strong mark in various biographies, heroes whose achievements cannot be erased, the top people who create a period of history, and the few who embark on the path to eternity. The records of them become a series that can be continued and mentioned repeatedly."

I nodded gently.

"So, Master of the Little Garden, where do you think you'll be?"

Yao's sudden question made me fall into deep thought.

I have never thought about whether I will be remembered in history or by other people, nor have I ever considered what my place should be. I have never cared about those things, because to me in the past, I was just like any other ordinary person I could easily meet, trying my best to live each day to the fullest.

However, if we want to give this question a proper answer...

After careful consideration, I finally gave my opinion: "As it stands, it may not yet be good enough to be a novel; but if we consider it as just a stage play to relieve boredom, the plot may seem too bloated, or even have too many elements."

A smile seemed to flicker in his jewel-like eyes, but it quickly vanished, replaced by his usual tone: "It seems you know yourself very well, Master of the Box Garden."

"Yes, that was also my judgment. However, reality has inadvertently deviated from my expectations."

She paused for a moment, then turned halfway to stand up, facing me, and gave a small but very formal bow: "Yumi, please forgive me for looking at your book without my knowledge."

"However, when I checked the last page, which is the record of your events at the auction house last night, I finally confirmed [the end of the book]."

"...What is that?" I frowned.

Yao said, "Literally. When a book that records a person comes to an end, the book that carries all his stories will also come to an end." She paused, then emphasized again, "Whether for better or worse, and whether there is a reasonable ending or not."

"Natural disaster, or man-made disaster."

Lena's usual relaxed expression vanished as she took over the conversation, her voice solemn as she murmured, "The aftermath of battles between the strong can easily destroy the surrounding environment; the pent-up anger caused by war can destroy peaceful life on the borders; sudden natural disasters can destroy countless kingdoms; and the ever-changing environment will eventually lead to the end of everything."

"Finally, after everything is restored, the cycle will begin again."

She looked straight at me, a fleeting blue glint in the depths of her usually playful silver eyes: "It's obvious, brother, that your situation was an unexpected man-made disaster. You may not have known the enemy you were about to face, so you were careless and suffered this misfortune. This was also confirmed in the repeated tests that Yao conducted after calling me back."

Lena looked at Yao again, and after receiving a silent nod from him, she continued, "Initially, Yao's intention was to help you avoid tomorrow's calamity. No matter what method was used, you were forced to wait in the Little Garden for a day before proceeding with what you needed to do. But this method undoubtedly led to a disastrous failure. The Little Garden Master's power over the Little Garden is absolute, and the restrictions in the real world can also be broken by you in ways we don't know, ultimately leading to the most tragic ending."

"However, this is different from what I have seen in other books that have been terminated. It is not [absolute death], but rather it is more like it was affected by some external force, forcibly torn apart, destroyed and taken away from the second half of the book."

"Then, we tried to change the situation," Yao continued. "We increased the number of people traveling with us, changed the departure time, tried to win over the teachers who remained neutral and observing, or even sought help from Her Majesty the [Witch]. But this was equally futile, and instead triggered a more violent backlash, bringing the end of the situation forward."

"Unfortunately, that time was cut off by some unknown magical power. Even when Hui fully utilized his [Time Positioning] ability, he was unable to discover any information from it."

"So we chose a third method, which was to try to extract your consciousness from the future so that you could know in advance who the enemy you were going to face was. Fortunately, after several attempts, this method finally succeeded."

"I see." I nodded gently.

This also explains why, even though I felt like I was in the midst of a fierce battle just now, I suddenly opened my eyes and found myself back at the point in time when I fell asleep in the miniature garden.

"Yao, so that's why you told me last night to stay and deal with things the next day?"

I asked the question in a declarative tone, and the elaborately dressed woman nodded silently in return.

“Yumi, listen to me. You might mistake it for a dream, but please believe us, it’s not a simple dream, but a reality that will soon arrive.” Her tone was sincere. “We can’t be sure what will happen then. Only you know this, and only you must know it, in order to find a possible way out.”

“No, I don’t disbelieve.” I replied lightly. In any case, it’s a fact that they rescued me from that dangerous situation. “On the contrary, I need to thank you, because thanks to your efforts, I now know what I will face in the future.”

Another long sigh rang out, but this time it contained the emotion of relief.

My gaze returned to Lena, who was slumped in her chair, and Yao, who was gently patting his chest. I smiled and said, "If possible, I would like to borrow your wisdom once again."
