Chapter 191 Want to See Him

A strong sense of sadness welled up in her heart. She couldn't wait to see him, so she took out her phone and called him again. But after the ringtone ended, there was still no answer.

Jiang Shuya gritted her teeth angrily. She couldn't predict the outcome with Lin Moxiao. In her previous life, she had no connection with him at all, and she had no idea what the result would be between them. Were all the things he said before false?

Filled with doubt and indignation, she decided to make a trip to Meiyuan New District.

So we arrived at the subway station, took the subway, and headed towards Meiyuan. Meiyuan is located in the southeast of Jinling City, opposite to Hexi. The last subway station is Meiyuan New District, while Meiyuan Villa is located halfway up Meihua Mountain and there is no direct subway access.

Sure enough, after a forty-minute subway ride to the last station, a large number of unlicensed taxis came up to solicit passengers.

"Miss, where to go? Meiyuan New Village, Meiyuan Villa, or Meihua Mountain Scenic Area?"

Several dark-skinned men kept going back and forth between the three locations. Jiang Shuya was surrounded and didn't know how to get away, so she asked if there was a direct bus to Meiyuan Villa.

An older woman chimed in;

"Miss, there's only one bus to Meihua Mountain Scenic Area. There's no direct bus to Meiyuan Villa, and they're not even in the same direction. One's on the south side of the mountain, and the other is on the east. Meiyuan Villa is on the east side; it's privately owned and less crowded there, but it involves several turns. I suggest you take our bus; it'll be much more convenient. If you try to walk, it'll take you more than an hour."

Jiang Shuya understood. She remembered that when she went back before, she was in Master Yu's car and they did turn several corners. So she decided to get into that lady's van.

The older woman in the car kindly inquired;

"Plum Garden Villa is secluded; not many people go there usually. You must be visiting relatives!"

Jiang Shuya was nervous. She responded with a sound of agreement, bit her lip, and gave a perfunctory reply.

Seeing that she was in a bad mood, her older sister stopped talking about those pointless topics.

The car passed through a large bamboo forest and then circled around undulating hillsides covered with plum trees of various varieties. Jiang Shuya, sitting in the car in a daze, saw the Plum Garden Villa ahead with its gate tightly closed. The two gates were wide and sturdy, large black iron gates, surrounded by high fences on both sides. The flowers, trees, and villas inside were clearly visible.

The car stopped, and after Jiang Shuya paid the fare, she thanked him and walked nervously to the front door.

A green doorbell was installed on the edge of the gate. Jiang Shuya reached out and pressed it, and a pleasant doorbell sound rang out.

Inside, it was quiet as usual. Jiang Shuya mustered her courage again and pressed the button. A moment later, she heard a panting sound from inside.

"Here I am, here I am!"

The main door was not opened, but Yang's mother came out from the side door. When she saw Jiang Shuya, she was quite polite.

"Oh, it's Miss Jiang. Is there something you need?"

Jiang Shuya took a deep breath, feeling somewhat uncomfortable with her sudden visit;

"Excuse me, has Mr. Lin returned?"

Mrs. Yang looked completely at ease;

"I got back this afternoon, I look really tired. I came from the hospital, I guess I should rest now. It's probably best not to disturb me."

Jiang Shuya was overjoyed, but also somewhat flustered;

"Since he's resting, I don't want to disturb him. Can I go in and wait for him?"

Mrs. Yang's smile froze on her face, and she shook her head.

"I'm sorry, but the master has instructed that unauthorized personnel are not allowed to enter the manor. You should have contacted Young Master Lin beforehand; he can arrange for you to enter the garden. I cannot."

Upon hearing this, Jiang Shuya froze on the spot, feeling extremely embarrassed, and forced a smile.

"Then please, Mrs. Yang, when he wakes up, tell Mr. Lin for me that I've been here."

Mother Yang gave a vague reply, her smile gone, and turned to enter the garden, quickly closing the gate behind her. A voice came from behind her.

"What a pipe dream! Spending just one night here and actually hoping to curry favor with Young Master Lin? A fool's errand! Sigh!"

A harsh remark left Jiang Shuya, who was standing outside the door, feeling helpless. She took a deep breath, unsure of where to go, and then realized that the car that had brought her there was gone. As darkness fell, she realized that there were no more cars to take her back.

She stood at the gate for a long time. The lights inside came on, and even the lights on the flowers and grass in the plum garden came on. At this time, there was also a faint light in the octagonal pavilion in the backyard of the plum garden. So Jiang Shuya went around the garden from the left and walked towards the octagonal pavilion.

Perhaps one could see his room from the octagonal pavilion, and if he stood by the window, he would surely be able to see her!

In the woods, plants of all shapes and sizes grow lush and verdant, birds sing all sorts of songs, weeds grow rampant on the ground, and the narrow paths are overgrown with all kinds of haphazard green plants.

Jiang Shuya turned on the flashlight on her phone, found a stick, and used it to clear away the grass that was in the way. She then walked towards the octagonal pavilion by feel.

The grass underfoot was very tall, and many thorny plants scratched her legs one cut after another. She dared not stop and endured the pain until she finally reached the steps of the octagonal pavilion.

Upon seeing the octagonal pavilion with only four large red pillars, Jiang Shuya leaned against the railing of the chair to rest, breathing heavily. She couldn't help but sigh that although the pavilion looked close, it was actually quite difficult to get close, and it had taken her a lot of effort.

She draped her two injured legs over the chair railing, wincing in pain. Looking around, she realized it was pitch black and she couldn't see any direction. The only light was coming from the plum garden not far below, and the white fence in front of her was faintly visible. Jiang Shuya couldn't help but walk down the steps towards that light.

Covered in grass clippings and looking quite disheveled, he trudged to the outside of the fence and saw that Lin Moxiao's room light was already on.

This meant he had rested well, and she was overjoyed. She took out her phone and called again, but after waiting for a long time without a response, Jiang Shuya was extremely annoyed and was so angry that she wanted to stand outside the fence and shout at him.

But as soon as she parted the rose bushes on the fence, she saw two people sitting on a white swing set inside. The light above the swing set was particularly dazzling. A man and a woman were sitting on it, swaying back and forth, chatting idly. They were a bit far away, so she couldn't hear what they were saying.

But it was clear that the man was Lin Moxiao, who exuded a scholarly air, wearing a white knitted top, holding a book in his hand, and looking at it intently.

The girl next to him had her hair tied in two ponytails and was holding a rare white cat. She was talking to the cat and trying to comfort it. Lin Moxiao remained silent, her mind seemingly focused entirely on the book.

Jiang Shuya looked at the two of them with tears in her eyes, not daring to shout. The pain in her legs was instantly overshadowed by heartache. At this moment, what should she ask him? Wasn't the best answer that he didn't answer her calls or reply to her messages?

It turns out that that night really was punishment, revenge, and humiliation for her.
