Chapter 192 Lin Moxiao, Goodbye

Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably as she silently watched the two people on the swing set, chatting and laughing, sharing similar interests.

The girl leaned closer to him and discussed the contents of the book with him. Lin Moxiao's familiar face responded from time to time. Looking at the innocent and romantic girl, his eyes were filled with tenderness, and he gave her the same smile he had given her before. At this moment, her heart felt as if it had been pierced by a thousand swords, as if it had been stabbed hard.

After an unknown amount of time, rain suddenly began to fall from the sky. The raindrops pattered down on Jiang Shuya's unsuspecting body, and she remained frozen in place, her whole body numb.

Meanwhile, the girl on the swing in the garden was dozing off with her head resting on Lin Moxiao's shoulder. He looked up at the sky and noticed that the rain was getting heavier. He gently patted the girl, and soon, she reluctantly got up and followed Lin Moxiao into the villa.

At this moment, Jiang Shuya, who was soaked to the bone, seemed to have been cleansed by the rain and her mind cleared up. Her tearful eyes were still fixed on the lights upstairs. At this moment, she realized that she didn't even have the courage to shout. She had to admit that she didn't have the confidence to be as persistent as Wang Yingying. She didn't even have the right to explode.

She sank deeper and deeper into the mud. She took off her muddy shoes and, barefoot, pulled them out of the mud pit. They were the same leather shoes with pearls on them. Because she pulled too hard, two of the pearls fell off, and the shoes were covered in mud. She stared at the shoes without saying a word, a mocking smile playing on her lips.

She fell in love with him, and without realizing it, she started wearing skirts, no matter how cold it was, completely forgetting that she was prone to feeling cold.

Because she fell in love with him, she, who never wore high heels before, wore them all the time, and even changed her lifestyle because of him.

Perhaps it was the icy coldness under her feet that made her walk barefoot up the steps, step by step, and into the octagonal pavilion once again. It could shelter her from the rain, but not from the wind. She leaned against the railing, like an hourglass forgotten in a corner, which would disappear with a gust of wind.

Will they be together tonight? Will he treat her the way he treated me three days ago? Perhaps not! She's an innocent girl; how can she be the same as me?

He had already rejected her; he thought she was dirty.

Thinking of this, she cried out loudly, sobbing incessantly. In this pitch-black jungle, like a deadly swamp, no one answered her cries. The sounds of rushing water, rain, and birdsong around her had already drowned out her grief.

She cried for a long time, until she was exhausted. With a feeling of unease, she curled up on the chair railing and fell asleep, trembling.

The rain gradually stopped, and various strange cries came from afar, while the mournful howls of various animals could be heard from time to time in the forest.

Jiang Shuya shivered, constantly being startled awake. She closed her eyes in fear and curled up there, motionless.

Her clothes were completely soaked and clung to her body uncomfortably. Various mosquitoes kept buzzing around her ears. She covered her head in strong resistance, but she was too busy with her head to care about her legs, which quickly became red and swollen.

She finally managed to get through the early dawn, but she was exhausted and lay down to get a moment's rest.

Perhaps because the itching was too unbearable and the pain in her heart hadn't subsided, she opened her eyes and found that it was already broad daylight. As she rolled over, she discovered that the things on her body had fallen off.

Looking up, Jiang Shuya saw a dark gray coat. She looked up in confusion and saw an elderly man with a tall and straight figure, wearing a white long robe, practicing Tai Chi in the distance. His movements were smooth and graceful, and he appeared calm and composed.

Jiang Shuya picked up the coat and placed it in a clean spot. She watched it quietly for a while until the old man finally stopped.

Upon seeing Jiang Shuya, the old man walked into the octagonal pavilion with his head held high.

"Little girl, why are you sleeping here? Are you lost? Or does your home live nearby? I saw you were lying here, and your clothes are all wet. Go home and change quickly, or you'll get sick."

Jiang Shuya looked at the old man. There was a small radio and a thermos next to him. She immediately guessed that this was the place where the old man often practiced martial arts.

"Grandpa, thank you. I'm not lost. I can get back by myself."

The old man smiled, his eyes narrowing. "Is your home far? I'll arrange for someone to take you."

Although she felt the old man meant well, Jiang Shuya still refused and returned the clothes to him.

"Young lady, why are you staying here all night? Did you have a fight with your family?"

Jiang Shuya shook her head, looking dazed. Despite feeling unwell all over, she glanced at the villa not far away and said nothing.

The old man frowned as he saw that her shoes were dirty and that her legs were covered in large red welts from mosquito bites.

"Young lady, you need to treat your leg injury promptly, otherwise it will leave a scar."

"Okay, I understand. Goodbye, Grandpa."

The old man told her there was a spring pool not far away, pointed in the direction, and suggested that she go there to wash.

After saying goodbye to the old man, Jiang Shuya found the spring pool not far away. She washed the mud off her feet, washed her face, and tidied her hair. In the reflection of the pool, she noticed that her eyes had become red and swollen.

On her way back, her shoes were still wet, and she finally circled back to the main gate of Plum Garden. She was about to walk through the gate and head back towards the subway station she had come from.

Suddenly, the large metal gate opened, and a tall, upright man walked out, pulling a suitcase. It was Lin Moxiao. He was wearing a flight uniform, looking dashing and making his handsome face appear even more refined.
