Huang Minghao clenched his fists, gritting his teeth in anger, wanting to slap her, but he held back after thinking about it.
He walked over, picked up the corner of the quilt with one hand, took it apart, and put it back on, ignoring Li Xiaoru who was standing to the side.
Li Xiaoru was filled with anger and indignation, biting her lower lip:
"Brother-in-law, can't you see at all that I like you? That's why I'm being nice to you. You and my cousin are divorced now, so why can't we be together?"
Huang Minghao interrupted her with a disdainful look:
"That's impossible. So what if she leaves me? Am I, Huang Minghao, just going to find any woman in a garbage dump? Get lost."
Li Xiaoru was so angry that she was trembling all over and left his room with her face flushed red.
Lida Shopping Mall
Jiang Shuya led Jiang Shuting and Chen Lin to the fifth floor of the mall, where they found Wen Qing, who had returned from abroad. This stubborn girl, who had been away for a year, was much more mature than before. She was originally reserved and steady, but this time, she was full of energy and much more cheerful. When she saw Jiang Shuya, she went up to her and gave her a big hug.
Jiang Shuya was a little overwhelmed by Wen Qing's enthusiasm, so she quickly explained, "I've come to see you today because there's something very important. Take a look at this first."
As he spoke, he showed Jiang Shuting the new calculation program she had brought.
Having learned from Wang Tingting that Wen Qing's "Jinling Capital" was preparing to enter the electronics technology industry, Jiang Shuya brought her younger sister to try her luck.
When it came to big data computing, Wen Qing became very talkative and engaged in an in-depth discussion with Jiang Shuting and Chen Lin. They were invited into the office to test the computational program that Jiang Shuting had brought. Jiang Shuya was so overwhelmed by the advanced computing technology that she simply left the office and waited patiently outside.
Bored, she went upstairs to see if Li Xiaoru was at work. She hadn't seen her since Li Xiaoru opened the shop, and she wondered how far things had progressed between Li Xiaoru and Wang Ziliang.
Upon arriving on the second floor, Zheng Jia was quickly spotted, but after scanning the store, Li Xiaoru was nowhere to be found.
She doesn't work here anymore.
Zheng Jia, with a serious expression, continued:
"She quit a few days ago, switched jobs, and got into an argument with one of our employees. The manager said some harsh things about her, threatening to punish her, saying she shouldn't have gotten into a fight in the store over a personal grudge."
Jiang Shuya frowned, puzzled. "What caused her to have a dispute with someone? Is there a specific reason?"
Zheng Jia brought over a pile of clothes and hung them on the display rack, then turned on the iron;
"That girl is in the opposite class. Unfortunately, she's off today and didn't come. I only heard that Li Xiaoru and she were initially very close, like sisters. They often went out together. Later, Li Xiaoru borrowed money from her twice and kept delaying repayment. Even after receiving her salary, she didn't pay her back right away, so the girl felt resentful."
Jiang Shuya helped her hang up her clothes one by one; "Which brand does she work for now?"
Zheng Jia walked to the store entrance, pointed to a shop not far away, and said, "That's the one, Bai Tu women's clothing. But I didn't see her today; she didn't come to the morning meeting."
Jiang Shuya understood immediately. Standing at the door, she called Li Xiaoru. Li Xiaoru answered and said that she was on the morning or afternoon shift.
"Okay, I start work at 2 PM. I'm at Lida Shopping Mall now, I'll wait for you."
Jiang Shuya hung up the phone, glanced at the time, and saw that there were still more than two hours left. She strolled around the mall and bought a few outfits for Tangtang at Baby King.
After hanging up the phone, Li Xiaoru felt uneasy. Her cousin was going to scold her when she came to the store, so she called Wang Ziliang to ask him to go see her cousin that afternoon.
Jiang Shuya browsed many clothing stores in the mall but couldn't find the same yellow dress, so she bought a similar light purple flared skirt instead.
Before she knew it, the time had come. Jiang Shuya, who was standing at the entrance of Baitu, finally saw Li Xiaoru and Wang Ziliang walking towards her.
Li Xiaoru lowered her guard and smiled. "Cousin, what brings you here? Isn't the shop busy today?"
Jiang Shuya smiled faintly and glanced at Wang Ziliang; "Ziliang, aren't you busy today? I need to talk to Xiaoru alone. It won't be long."
Wang Ziliang scratched his head sheepishly. He looked very smart today, wearing a casual suit. When he walked with Li Xiaoru, the two were about the same height. Jiang Shuya suddenly felt that she had made a big mistake. She really had messed up the matchmaking.
"Cousin, Xiaoru told me she changed jobs. She was afraid you'd blame her, so she asked me to come. Actually, changing jobs wasn't her choice; she had no other choice."
Jiang Shuya looked surprised. She didn't know how Li Xiaoru had spoken to Wang Ziliang, and handed over the clothes in her hand.
"This is a similar style to that yellow dress I bought for you, but they didn't have the color you wanted. Take a look and see if you like it."
Li Xiaoru was pleasantly surprised by her cousin's actions. She hadn't expected her cousin to not scold her but instead buy her clothes. She was overjoyed and felt no guilt whatsoever.
Standing to the side, Wang Ziliang blurted out, "Do you still need clothes? I just bought you a few sets a few days ago."
Jiang Shuya was speechless upon hearing this. She suddenly realized that Li Xiaoru had only been working for a few months, so how could she have bought so many clothes? She had heard Li Xiaoru mention before that she had to send money home every month to pay for her uncle's medical treatment. Where would she get so much money to buy clothes? Connecting the dots, she realized that all those clothes were bought for her by Wang Ziliang.
"Xiaoru, Wang Ziliang is here today. Tell me in front of him, are you really planning to continue this relationship with him?"
Seeing her cousin's serious expression, Li Xiaoru tilted her head, looked at Wang Ziliang, walked to his side, took his arm, and said confidently:
"Of course, Ziliang is the best man to me. He's so patient with me, always indulges me, and has never lost his temper with me. Who else would I choose if not him? Cousin, I should thank you for introducing me to such a wonderful boy."
Wang Ziliang looked at her with doting eyes, his tenderness overflowing, but for some reason, Jiang Shuya felt that Li Xiaoru wasn't entirely sincere. She continued, "I heard you borrowed money from someone at the MODA store. Is that true?"
Li Xiaoru's eyes were somewhat unfocused, her expression hesitant, and she tugged at Wang Ziliang's arm, shaking it unsteadily.
"Yes, I did, but I've already paid it back. What, she's complaining to you? What a shrew, always gossiping. I'll settle the score with her later."
Jiang Shuya subconsciously shook her head:
"It's not easy to meet like-minded people when you're out in the world. Don't let money create a barrier between you. You need connections even if you work in business, so avoid conflicts easily; it won't do you any good."
