Chapter 251 He's Fine

The two drove quickly to Jiang Island, and Jiang Shuya, sitting in the passenger seat, suddenly had a thought:

"Mr. Lin, could you please choose a different car? Other women have ridden in this one before, and I don't like it."

Lin Moxiao sighed slightly, seeing how blunt she was.

"There are no other women; the only one who has ever lived in my heart is you."

Seeing that she didn't speak, he mysteriously leaned close to her ear:

"I've already bought it. I'll pick it up the day after tomorrow. Don't worry, from now on, I'll only be taking you in my car, okay?"

Actually, he was secretly delighted. Since she cared about his past, didn't that mean she still had feelings for him? Just like he cared about her past with her ex-husband.

As the car crossed the Jiajiang Bridge, Jiang Shuya could see a few scattered holdout houses in Xixia Village in the distance. Among those houses, she immediately spotted her sister-in-law's house, standing there isolated.

Unwilling to compromise with the conditions offered by the demolition office, she insisted on resisting to the end. Thinking back to her sister-in-law's sharp and resolute words, determined not to add a single brick or tile and not to take advantage of the Communist Party, why was she now standing alone in this situation? Jiang Shuya couldn't help but sigh, it seems that these insincere words were just empty words.

She quickly thought of Huang Minghao's grandfather, wondering how he was doing in the hospital, whether he had undergone surgery, and whether he had overcome his difficulties. A series of questions lingered in her mind.

"What are you thinking about, honey?"

Lin Moxiao turned to look at her.

"I suddenly thought of an elderly man who was very kind to me. I heard he's sick; I should go to the hospital to visit him."

"Yes, you should, honey. Shouldn't you consider taking me to meet your parents?" Lin Moxiao asked.

Jiang Shuya's smile froze instantly. Her fingers kept fidgeting with the hem of her clothes, and her face darkened. Since her last falling out with her mother, she had not seen her parents again. She had been lying in the hospital for more than a month. Shuting had come to see her, and Shuhuai had come too, but her parents had not. She knew her mother, Li Dalan, who was more ruthless than anyone else. Clearly, that house had not made her mother feel at ease.

Lin Moxiao leaned closer and asked, noticing that Jiang Shuya seemed to be in a bad mood:

"What's wrong? Is it inconvenient?"

Jiang Shuya coldly replied, "No need. They won't accept me remarrying. They demanded I remarry Huang Minghao, but I refused, and we had a huge falling out. Don't even think about seeing them again."

Her candor in doing so also extinguished his hopes.

Lin Moxiao didn't ask any more questions. Although he hoped to gain the approval and blessings of his elders, he also longed for the missing family affection. After a moment of hesitation, he continued:

"Wife, don't call me Mr. Lin anymore. I'm your husband now."

"Okay, honey." She smiled gently, and the atmosphere instantly became lively.

As they spoke, the car arrived at Zhou Tou Village. Lin Moxiao parked the car a short distance away, picked up the gift, and Jiang Shuya, feeling something was off, took the gift from him, her tone pleading:

"You shouldn't go in. I'll go in and get Tangtang out, then we'll take her to the amusement park together."

"Okay, I'll wait for you here. Call me if it's really inconvenient."

Jiang Shuya nodded, took the gift, and jogged into a small alley.

She asked around and soon found Huang Minghao's yard. As soon as she arrived at the gate, she saw Tangtang squatting under the ginkgo tree picking up fallen fruit.

"Tangtang, my baby, it's Mommy! Look at me." Jiang Shuya leaned closer, took out a wet wipe from her bag and wiped her hands. She reached out to hug her, but Tangtang looked at her with a hazy expression, her eyes scrutinizing and confused, a sense of unfamiliar estrangement. Jiang Shuya ignored her and hugged her tightly, tears streaming down her face.

Tangtang pushed her head, struggling with her little hands, "Daddy, Daddy, Grandma, Grandma, someone's here..."

Huang Minghao, who was inside the house, quickly rushed over upon hearing the noise. His mother-in-law also ran over from not far away, carrying a basket of vegetables that she had just picked from the field.

"Xiaoya, you're here! When were you discharged from the hospital?" Huang Minghao smiled broadly, and Tangtang reached out her hand to him.

Huang Minghao held Tangtang in his arms, looking at her with doting eyes: "Tangtang, be good. This is Mommy, Tangtang's good Mommy. Let Mommy hug you, okay?"

Tangtang looked at Jiang Shuya suspiciously. She hesitated, shifting her body slightly, before finally calling out, "Mommy."

Jiang Shuya burst into tears instantly, took the candy from Huang Minghao's hand, and kissed her soft cheek.

"How have you been lately? He's been treating you really well, right?" Huang Minghao asked.

At this moment, my mother-in-law came over.

"Xiaoya, you've come at the right time! Have lunch at home!"

Jiang Shuya shook her head.

"No, Mom, thank you for your kindness, but I'd like to bring Tangtang to stay with me for a couple of days. Is that alright?"

The mother-in-law couldn't stop smiling when she heard this:

"Of course you can. You're her mother, why can't you? Hao Hao is recovering at home these days, so I can also take a couple of days off."

"Mom, go find some clean clothes for Tangtang, and bring her some baby food too," Huang Minghao urged.

"Okay, you guys chat, I'll be right there."

After his mother-in-law left, Huang Minghao took out a card from his pocket and handed it over.

"Xiaoya, here's the 600,000 yuan you gave me before. Take this money, but keep it for Tangtang. She'll need a lot for her education when she grows up."
