Chapter 134 Taking a Different Path

Tian stared at Li Ke for a while, and finally realized that no matter how powerful this woman was, she couldn't defeat him because of his superior numbers.

"I am Tanaka Akakaze, the future head of one of the three great families of R Country, and a member of the future New World. Only by following me can you successfully reach the end."

Tanaka Akakaze briefly introduced himself, then led his men into the shadows, where a dark stairwell appeared. Li Ke followed behind them, followed by two more people, while the rest stayed behind to clean up the traces.

Upon exiting the building, they came into view the lobby of another villa, which was still empty. Tanaka led his people to continue walking towards the back, where a small plane was parked.

Someone came up with a scanner to check Li Ke's belongings. Li Ke stretched out his hand and let them scan him. They didn't find anything unusual about Li Ke.

He glanced at Li Ke and said, "Miss Li, are you sure you want to come with me? Once I've embarked on this path, there's no turning back."

Li Ke replied seriously, "If I back down now, is there still a chance?"

Tanaka's expression stiffened for a moment, then he said coldly, "No!"

Li Ke responded with a "heh" and walked forward. The people in Tanaka immediately surrounded and protected him. Li Ke glanced at them and then boarded the plane.

Tanaka confirmed that there was contempt in that look, and his blood boiled with anger. He knew that tormenting this woman would excite him, and he looked forward to that day.

When Xiao Yi arrived at the explosion site with his men, the traces at the scene had been completely destroyed. He got out of the car and carefully looked around the site, and could tell that there seemed to be traces left by two groups of people.

The heavy snow continued to fall, covering many things. They had also encountered obstacles on their way here, and now it was already dark.

Aside from some frozen, broken pieces of flesh and limbs, car debris, and deep craters left by bombs, they couldn't even piece together a complete body. The identifiable parts were piled up and burned to black charcoal along with the car, doused with gasoline.

Xiao Yi stood in front of the bombed-out road, staring blankly ahead. The women who had run back dared not say anything. It was only after they arrested the man and took him to the reform camp that they learned that Li Ke and the driver had used guns.

His men had been searching for Li Ke and the driver ever since they entered District Seven, but they found nothing.

His subordinates came to report the situation. Judging from the remains at the scene, there were no women among them. Xiao Yi was not relieved much upon hearing the report. He still felt that Li Ke would disappear from his world forever.

The world is about to descend into chaos. Xiao Yi is unsure whether Li Ke has been kidnapped or if it was all her doing.

"Take men ahead to investigate. Keep the Qin family under control. Don't miss any clues," Xiao Yi ordered.

The squad leader obeyed and led a team of ten men forward. Xiao Yi watched the scene for a while longer before leading his men back to the villa area.

There were countless things happening in the shelter, and restless hands and feet were moving about everywhere. Even Xiao Yi felt overwhelmed and short-handed.

He regretted impulsively accepting the task given to him by his former boss. It was much more comfortable when he was working independently with his own people. Now, if the punishment is even slightly severe, he gets a message to reprimand him.

Troublesome as it may be, he is not the kind of person who gives up halfway. Moreover, in this kind of situation, it's not something he can just back down from. Once you take on some responsibilities, you can't just let them go.

If Li Ke has found her freedom, Xiao Yi will be disappointed by her sudden departure, but he will also wish her well. Although he doesn't fully understand what Li Ke has done, based on Xiao Yi's recent observations of her, Li Ke may have secrets, but she is not an enemy.

Zhuang Yihao and his men hid in a village on the outskirts of the city. Despite being a village, the houses there looked quite nice, with thirty or forty nice-looking country villas. The furniture that couldn't be taken away from the houses had been properly secured, probably in the hopes of returning in the future.

More than 20 houses on the edge of the village are leaning and collapsed, which should be caused by the previous earthquake. The houses in the village are buried up to the second floor by heavy snow. For many of the lower-rise houses, the roofs are not visible.

When Zhuang Weifeng led his men over from the ski slope, Zhuang Yihao was listening with a solemn expression to a report that Tanaka's plane had brought the people back.

Turning his head, Zhuang Yihao saw the people behind his nephew supporting an unconscious woman. He frowned and asked, "Why did you bring a woman with you?"

Zhuang Weifeng quickly explained, "This is Li Ke's cousin. I thought she might be of some use, so I brought her along."
