The car stopped in front of Li Ke, and two men got out, asking rudely, "Who are you? What happened up ahead?"
Li Ke pointed to his clothes: "Li Ke from the law enforcement team, someone invited me here, but there were people blocking the road ahead and preventing me from coming over. Then another group of people came and insisted that I come over. I don't know what happened, but they started firing and throwing bombs. Luckily, I dodged quickly, otherwise I would have been lying down with those reckless people. Who are you people? Do you have any spare vehicles to take me? I don't know who is looking for me. If I can't find them, I'll have to go back to my unit."
The two men exchanged a glance, and one of them said to Li Ke, "Let me see your work ID."
Li Ke took out his ID from his breast pocket: "Do you have a car or not? If not, I'll just go back and wait. With such a commotion, my colleagues should be able to come over quickly if they hear it."
The man looked at Li Ke's work ID and said directly, "Come with us, our boss wants to see you!"
Li Ke didn't ask any questions, walked straight past the space they had cleared, and got into the car. The two men standing to the side were a little taken aback by Li Ke's swift entry into the car.
One of the two cars that came this time took Li Ke back to see the so-called boss, while the other drove ahead to check the situation on the ground and see how their own people were doing. If there were any things that needed to be destroyed, they would have to find a way to destroy them.
The car stopped after half an hour. The man sitting next to Li Ke took out a black cloth to cover his head and gave it to Li Ke: "Put this on before you get out of the car."
Li Ke took the black cloth and looked at it, then punched the other man in the nose. The driver in front immediately pulled out a gun to stop Li Ke, but Li Ke used a knife to bleed his wrist, and the pistol fell into Li Ke's hand.
Li Ke started smashing the head of the man next to her with the gun. The driver had already opened the car door and escaped. Li Ke also opened the car door and pulled out another person who was bleeding profusely and dizzy from the blow, holding him in front of her.
"Listen up, you bastard who invited me here! I'm here as a guest, not to listen to your nonsense and tell me what rules to do!" Li Ke shouted as he watched the driver run towards an underpass.
Before me was a cluster of villas that were only half-finished. Some looked completely finished, while others didn't even have windows, and the brickwork was exposed. Most of the buildings were buried by snow, leaving only the top floor exposed.
The building in front of Li Ke looked like it was only half-finished. The third floor had all the doors and windows, but the roof was just a frame, and it didn't look like a habitable place.
Some of the snow nearby had been cleared, and the entrance on the surface was actually quite easy to see through.
A moment later, seven people ran out of the underpass, all carrying guns. One of them said to Li Ke, "If you have the guts to come as a guest, then come in. Our boss is waiting for you inside."
Li Ke dragged the half-dead man from his arms in front of them and threw him over: "Here you go. Lead the way and don't mess with me again, or your boss will never find what he's looking for again."
Tanaka wanted to capture her, and after thinking it over, Li Ke could only think that it was related to that treasure. But Li Ke was confident that apart from her appearance at Zhuang Yihao's banquet, she had not left any trace at other times.
Tanaka is probably willing to arrest the wrong person rather than let her go. Her ambiguous statements are just a way to keep Tanaka hanging and prevent him from sending his cronies to cause her trouble.
Surrounded by several people, Li Ke entered the unfinished underground parking garage. Once inside, he discovered that the passageways were interconnected, and the entire garage area had been opened up. Finally, he arrived at the iron gate of an underground civil defense project and was led inside.
As soon as Li Ke stepped inside, she sensed something amiss with the people around her. They all made a move to the side, and she followed suit, standing almost simultaneously with the leader who had spoken earlier, her gun pointed at his temple.
At the same time, a nearly two-meter-tall iron cage crashed down, covering the entrance. If Li Ke had been a step slower, he would be inside it now.
Tanaka clapped his hands and walked out from the shadows: "Miss Li, with your skills, I now believe you are the one who took my things."
The basement was cold and gloomy, with only a chair in the middle and a single fluorescent light for illumination, making it look like a temporary place.
"What are you? Shouldn't you introduce yourself before you start talking to yourself? You rat hiding in the gutter." Li Ke held the person in his hand in front of him and observed the surrounding environment.
There was an exit next to her. Tanaka had just led five people out of the shadows. Li Ke wasn't sure if there were other exits behind them.
The space here is not small. If Li Ke wants to take them down in one fell swoop, he has to seal off all the exits first, which is a bit difficult. Moreover, this is clearly not their stronghold.
"Sharp-tongued woman, I really underestimated you back then. Do you remember the M country's Zhuang family's castle, that underground wine cellar? What organization do you belong to? As long as you tell me the whereabouts of my things, I can let you go, we can even cooperate. These are chaotic times now, with guns and supplies, we can break through any road, why should you lower yourself to be a small fry?" Tanaka wasn't angered by Li Ke. He now somewhat admired this woman, and if she could surrender and be used by him, that wouldn't be bad.
Li Ke seemed to consider it seriously for a moment before speaking: "The reason I came here is indeed because the current road is not easy to travel, and I wanted to try a different route. But even if I choose a different route, I need to first find out if the road is long enough, if it is flat, and if it can get me to my destination safely. If you want to cooperate with me, shouldn't you show some sincerity? There was just an explosion outside, and the law enforcement team will be here soon. Are you sure we want to continue talking here?"
