Chapter 24 The Temple in Green Mountain

When Li Ke was ejected from the space, he had slept for three hours inside, and only an hour and a half had passed outside; it was just 9 p.m.

After deciding that he could only stay in the space for six hours a day (three hours in the real world), Li Ke took out the bed from the space and went back to sleep.

However, she couldn't sleep as soundly as before. Aunt Chen came over and knocked on the door, saying that Li Ke hadn't cleaned the second and third floors for the past two days and asked her to open the door so she could get the vacuum cleaner and mop.

Li Ke ignored her, but Li Zhenzhen heard the commotion and came out, calling Aunt Chen over.

"Don't ask Li Ke to do the cleaning anymore. I'll hire another housekeeper to help you with the housework in the next couple of days. You'll have to work hard for the next two days," Li Zhenzhen said to Aunt Chen from the second floor.

Although the reason is unknown, it is obvious that Li Ke is disobedient and difficult to control now. Li Zhenzhen does not want to lose more than she gains, so she seeks stability first.

Aunt Chen was somewhat dissatisfied upon hearing this, and said without any self-awareness, "Hiring another person would be too wasteful. The old lady will not agree. It's just a small job, Li Ke can do it as soon as she is healthy, it won't take much effort."

Li Zhenzhen took a deep breath. After so many years in the Chen family, if she hadn't been able to endure it, she would have been driven to death by anger long ago.

For example, Aunt Chen, a distant relative from the countryside, had absolutely no sense of boundaries, but the old lady insisted on having her, and Li Zhenzhen could only put up with it.

The old lady kept Aunt Chen around for two reasons. First, Aunt Chen was from the same hometown, so they had common topics and could keep her company. Second, Aunt Chen always stood by her side. As for offending Li Zhenzhen, Grandma Chen was just happy to see it.

Li Zhenzhen said firmly, "Grandma will agree. You don't need to worry about this. You are not allowed to order Li Ke around anymore. If there's nothing else, just go and do your own thing."

Aunt Chen left reluctantly, her lips pursed. Li Zhenzhen knew she would gossip to the old lady, and although she was a little annoyed, she didn't change her mind.

Turning around, she went to the practice room. Chen Jiaojiao was still dancing. When Li Zhenzhen saw her stop, she said, "There's soup being made downstairs. Go down and drink it when you're done practicing. Don't overwork yourself. Focus more on your studies lately."

Chen Jiaojiao wiped the sweat from her face and neck, and walked to Li Zhenzhen's side with a smile, saying, "It's okay, I have a plan, Mom. My sister has been acting strange lately, and she's been ignoring me. Also, the clothes and towels I changed out of in my room and practice room haven't been taken away. My sister hasn't even done any housework these past two days. Mom, do you know why?"

Li Zhenzhen looked directly at Chen Jiaojiao and said, "Why do you care what she does? You need to know that you and she are different. She knows she's not good at studying, so she's completely given up and rebelled. You should also calm down and ignore her for now. Focusing on doing well in the college entrance exam is the most important thing."

When Chen Jiaojiao heard her mother say that, she knew she wouldn't get any information out of her. She obediently agreed and went back to her room to take a shower and change her clothes.

Li Zhenzhen went back to her room. Chen Niansheng had already changed his clothes and was sitting on the bed watching videos on his iPad. When he saw his wife come in, he waved her over and said, "Come on, let's watch this together. This little movie is pretty funny."

Li Zhenzhen sat down next to Chen Niansheng with a heavy heart. It would be a shame if Chen Niansheng didn't see his wife's troubles. He put down his tablet and asked, "What's wrong? You seem to have something on your mind these past few days."

Li Zhenzhen sighed first, then sat down next to Chen Niansheng: "Niansheng, Li Ke is becoming unruly. She's grown up and has her own thoughts. I think we should also mentor her. With her looks, she should be able to find a good family. I'm thinking that since we want to get along well in the future, we should go along with her a bit now. If she doesn't want to do something, then she doesn't have to. I've decided to find another nanny for the family, and we won't need her anymore. When she comes of age and we've found her a husband, we can have a good in-law relationship. What do you think?"

Chen Niansheng sat up straight and agreed, "Sure, when Xiao Ke first came, I said I'd let her be like Jiao Jiao. It's not like our family can't afford to raise her. It's just that you feel she's not a member of the Chen family, so you don't want to spoil her, lest she take it for granted. In my opinion, as long as Xiao Ke grows up in our family, this is her maternal home, and we should raise her properly."

Li Zhenzhen already knew that persuading Chen Niansheng would be easy. She frowned slightly and said, "She's not ambitious enough. Our family has given her all the support she needs, but she just can't do anything about her studies. If my eldest sister hadn't told me today that she wanted to help her, I wouldn't have made this request to you. But Mom might be angry, so you'll have to help me explain."

Chen Niansheng hugged his wife and assured her, "No problem. This was my eldest sister's suggestion, so Mom definitely won't have any objections. I'll talk to her about it tomorrow."

Li Ke rested in her room until 11 o'clock, then got up, changed into all black, unplugged the electric scooter from its charger, and put it back in her spatial storage. She laid the wardrobe down and propped it against the door just in case, then jumped out of the window to the first floor. After checking the blind spots of the surveillance cameras outside, Li Ke climbed out of the villa and entered the grove.

When she emerged from the grove, she had transformed into a muscular man dressed entirely in black, wearing a riding helmet, knee pads, and gloves. Li Ke mounted his motorcycle and set off.

With a clear goal in mind, she sped along the way, traveling at breakneck speed for an hour and a half before arriving at the foot of Qingshan Mountain on the outskirts of the city. Li Ke entered the forest, put away her motorcycle, and ran to the roadside to switch to an almost silent electric scooter. After riding for less than half an hour, the temple on Qingshan Mountain came into view. Only then did Li Ke put away her scooter, leave the main road, and quickly ride uphill through the forest.
