Mo Qing had already met Fu Hao, and at the same time, she saw the personal belongings of Mo Cheng that he had brought. Then came more bad news: Gao Ren had run away with his men, and Bao'er had also gone missing.
After having dinner with him last night, Bao'er went to the cultivation room. She cherishes the vegetables and fruits she planted herself and even made a rest room next to it, where she sometimes rests.
No matter how busy they are, the father and daughter always eat breakfast together, and if anything happens, they will notify each other via walkie-talkie.
Mo Qing had her son's belongings on the table, and she was tapping on the table with her finger, ignoring Fu Hao standing opposite her for the moment.
Fu Hao was eager for a result: "Well? Commander Mo, have you seen the things clearly? We don't want to push things too far. We just want half of your base's people, their food and drink for the next thirty years, and those new coal mines and oil fields you found."
Mo Qing scoffed upon hearing this, pinched the bridge of his nose, and asked, "Is that all?"
Fu Hao thought for a moment and replied, "If you want to make Young Master Mo suffer less, you can prepare more and speed things up."
Mo Qing looked up at Fu Hao, pressed her son's personal belongings on the table, and asked again, "I'm asking, is this all you have?"
Fu Hao was taken aback, not expecting Mo Qing to be so calm. He quickly composed himself, realizing he had been flustered by Mo Qing's gaze: "Isn't this enough? If you need anything from your son, I can have it cut up and sent over."
Although Fu Hao's reaction wasn't slow, Mo Qing could still tell from his expression and reaction that he was bluffing.
He frowned and looked at Fu Hao intently: "You are Fu Hua's nephew, and your father, Fu Rong, is the real person in charge?"
Fu Hao thought Mo Qing was questioning his identity: "That's right, I can represent my father and uncle. You can tell me your questions directly. Since I'm here, I can make the decisions."
Mo Qing nodded slowly and beckoned to the guard beside him: "Arrest him and interrogate him. Find out what Mo Cheng's current situation is. Also, don't let any of his accomplices go. Arrest them all."
Fu Hao never expected Mo Qing to give such an order. He was suddenly grabbed and restrained by two people who pounced on him, and could only shout, "What do you mean? Don't you want your son anymore? Let me tell you, if you dare to touch a single hair on my head, your son will only suffer more!"
Mo Qing remained unfazed and continued to tell his men, "Take him away. I need to know everything within half an hour. Don't be polite to him."
Fu Hao shouted anxiously, "You old bastard, don't you know that in war between two countries, envoys are not to be killed? You have no sense of morality! You wait until my dad skins your son alive!"
Mo Qing ignored the young man and watched his men take him away. He then began to instruct others to prepare, gathering manpower, weapons, and supplies, ready to depart at any time.
Fu Hao was a spineless coward. Before the other party could even stab him with a small, awl-like knife, he started begging for mercy and confessed everything he knew.
He thought that if he confessed quickly enough, he would suffer less. However, in order to ensure the authenticity of his testimony, the interrogator still subjected him to severe torture. Only after confirming that his previous and subsequent testimonies were consistent did he return to his boss to give his report. The whole process took less than twenty minutes.
After listening to the recording, Mo Qing ordered the guards to prepare and set off, taking Fu Hao and his accomplices with them. He was right about one thing: Mo Cheng had not yet fallen into their hands.
Li Ke took Xiao Guang and found another way out of the city, but there were people guarding the outside. Li Ke didn't want to attract fire for others for nothing, so he retreated and found a new place to stay with Xiao Guang.
The wind howled and sandstorms raged for two whole days without stopping. The weather was so bad that it was impossible to go out, so Li Ke and Xiao Guang stayed put for the time being.
After the sandstorm subsided a bit, Li Ke took Xiao Guang out again. They had only been on the newly planned road for less than half an hour when suddenly someone darted out from a side path.
Li Ke instinctively kicked the man, sending him crashing into the opposite wall. The man didn't even let out a scream before spitting out blood and passing out.
Mo Zuo, who caught up later, saw that Mo Cheng was being attacked and immediately ran over to help. He dared not fire his gun, fearing that it would attract more people.
Just as he was about to attack Li Ke, he recognized the person as someone he had encountered before and angrily questioned, "What are you doing?"
Li Ke remained wary: "He suddenly ran out and rushed in front of me."
Mo Zuo was both angry and exhausted. He took a deep breath, picked up Mo Cheng, and pleaded with Li Ke, "Please help us, I beg you. They blocked the sewers and released toxic gas. The way out of the city has also been blocked. We can't leave, and neither can you."
Li Ke put Xiao Guang down: "If that's what you're saying, I can hand you over to them. Anyway, I'm not their target."
Mo Zuo stood there, stunned for a moment, before saying, "You shouldn't be that kind of person."
Li Ke realized that Mo Zuo and the others were taking the same route she wanted to take, and asked, "What's the situation up ahead? Is someone guarding it?"
Mo Zuo: "There are more than twenty people. We just killed two of them. We should be discovered soon."
Li Ke gritted her teeth and had no choice but to turn back and find another way out. Mo Zuo carried the unconscious Mo Cheng on his back and followed closely behind Li Ke.
After walking for half an hour, Xiao Guang suddenly pinched Li Ke's shoulder. Li Ke turned to look at her, and Xiao Guang pointed to her mouth.
Li Ke understood what she meant and asked her what she wanted to say.
