Chapter 35 Additional Purchase

The department store owner, clutching his wallet, peeked at it from the inside out. His expression was a mixture of joy and pain. If he could, he would still prefer the convenience of bank transfer.

The department store owner and Li Ke went into the warehouse together. Behind everyone's back, he first counted the bag of money roughly. There were 220 stacks. He quickly sifted through each stack to confirm that the quality was fine.

Then he went with Li Ke to check the next batch of goods. After all the goods were handed over, he settled the accounts and checked the money together.

At 6:30, all the warehouse lights were turned on. Boss Liu and his daughter brought over the food and helped Li Ke oversee the handover for a while, telling her and the others to just eat first.

At nine o'clock, the department store owner delivered nine more truckloads of goods. After all the goods were unloaded and checked, both parties used calculators to calculate twice. The total amount of goods was 9,387,500 yuan. They rounded down to 9,387,000 yuan.

Mr. Li sat to the side, and Li Ke handed four bags of cash to the department store owner. The department store owner called his son over to help count the money with the machine.

Wiping the sweat from his brow, the department store owner chuckled, "Young boss, if possible, please transfer the money to me next time. I think it's safer to keep so much cash in the bank."

Li Ke said apologetically, "This time it was my oversight, but with such a large wholesale business, you should be able to handle this amount of money."

After seeing the department store owner off, the market manager was still sitting at the warehouse entrance waiting. Li Ke checked the time; it was already 9:35, which was quite late for a place like this.

Li Ke was worried that the roads would be difficult to travel at night, and that the farmers were already working too hard, so he said to the person in charge, "If it gets too late, please tell them not to deliver any more. The roads are difficult to travel at night, and I would feel bad about it."

The person in charge took a breath and said, "This place is a bit far away, and they delivered two truckloads of fish. The trucks are also big, so driving at night shouldn't be a big problem. They must have been delayed because of catching fish. Our water here is good, and the fish we raise are all very good. You definitely won't regret buying from us. I just called and asked, and the truck and the people will arrive in about ten or twenty minutes."

Upon hearing this, Li Ke was naturally willing to wait a little longer, as she originally didn't want the farmers to work too hard.

A moment later, the sound of a large truck came from over. Li Ke looked at the truck as it drove up, but it wasn't a fish delivery truck. It turned out that the steel shop owner had assembled eighty more sets of shelves and was delivering them.

"You guys are working way too hard. If you're too tired, don't assemble anymore. I've seen you've been busy all day," Li Ke said to the steel shop owner who had just gotten out of the car.

The boss's face was dirty and greasy, but his smile never faded. Hearing Li Ke's words, he laughed nonchalantly, "How can this be considered tiring? Besides, I have people in my shop who can handle the work. I can rest whenever I want. But a big boss like you is someone I might not meet again in a year. I have to cherish you."

Li Ke slightly adjusted the mask that had slipped down her chin and said politely, "I'm glad you can manage."

Before the shelves were fully unloaded, the two large trucks delivering the fish arrived. They were indeed very large trucks. Li Ke stood in front of the trucks, tiptoeing, but still couldn't see what was inside the truck beds.

The person in charge gestured for the cars to stop, and three people got out of the two cars. They were all quite strong. One of them smiled and took out a pack of cigarettes, offering one to the person in charge and one to Li Ke. The person in charge took one and put it behind his ear, but Li Ke declined, saying that he didn't smoke.

The man naturally put away his cigarette and said apologetically, "I'm a little late. The car was full, and the road was a bit difficult to travel. I'm sorry to have kept you waiting."

The person in charge looked at Li Ke, who replied, "It's alright, but it's so late. Could you find a place to stay in town tonight? My convoy hasn't arrived yet, and it's difficult to collect these fish right now, so I'll have to borrow your car to store them for a while."

"No problem, but it can't be kept for too long. Fish lose their vitality if they're caught too long ago," the fisherman replied.

The person in charge checked the time and said, "Let's check the fish first, weigh them, settle the bill, and finish as soon as possible so everyone can get some rest. We've all been busy all day."
