Chapter 396 Xiao Wanqing's Final Fate 16

Blood trickled from the corner of Xiao Wanqing's mouth, staining her pale cheeks. She burst into laughter, the sound particularly shrill on the empty beach. "Haha, what else do you want?" Her eyes were filled with madness and resentment, as if she had been possessed.

Jiang Bei's gaze was cold, but he ignored Xiao Wanqing and quietly waited for Rong Mo's decision.

Rong Mo frowned, pondered for a moment, and then nodded in agreement, "Okay, you can take her away." His voice was low and firm. Although he wasn't very familiar with Jiangbei, he chose to trust Shen Zhi Qiu and Lu Jia.

Jiang Bei walked towards Shen Zhi Qiu again, his eyes fixed on her, and he encouraged her softly, "Zhi Qiu, you must hold on. Lu Jia's hope is that you will live on, live on with all his hopes, and live well."

Shen Zhi Qiu sobbed uncontrollably, her tears falling like beads from a broken string. "I still can't believe Lu Jia is really dead. I want to stay here and wait for him to come back!" Her voice was filled with despair and determination.

Jiang Bei couldn't bear to see Shen Zhi Qiu in such pain any longer, so he turned around and prepared to leave.

"Where are you taking Xiao Wanqing?" Shen Zhi Qiu's voice trembled, her eyes filled with worry.

Jiang Bei stopped in his tracks without turning around, afraid that his tears would flow uncontrollably. "Zhi Qiu, don't worry about it." His voice trembled slightly, revealing his inner struggle.

"President Rong, I'm entrusting Zhi Qiu to you." Jiang Bei said with his back to Shen Zhi Qiu, his voice full of determination.

"Yes, don't worry." Rong Mo understood Jiang Bei's meaning. He knew that Jiang Bei didn't want to show his cruel side directly to Shen Zhi Qiu, so he said in a low voice, "I will take good care of her."

Jiang Bei took a deep breath, turned around, grabbed Xiao Wanqing by the collar, and dragged her away. Xiao Wanqing's body swayed weakly in Jiang Bei's hands, her eyes glazed over.

Lin Su silently turned away, not wanting to see any more of this. A single, crystal-clear tear slid down his cheek, his heart aching for this tragedy. He didn't know why he was crying, but he couldn't control himself. He hated Xiao Wanqing, hated her so much that he wanted to kill her immediately, yet he didn't want her to die so easily, he wanted to see her suffer and die, but when she was truly about to die, all he felt was desolation.

He knew very well that this did not mean he still had feelings or pity for Xiao Wanqing, but he still felt incredibly sad. Especially when he thought of his own mother, who might have felt the same despair before her death, he felt heartbroken.

Wei Qiao thought of something, so she leaned close to Rong Mo's ear and whispered something. Rong Mo's pupils dilated instantly, and he couldn't help but frown. Then, he nodded heavily to Wei Qiao.

Wei Qiao stepped forward and lowered her voice to say to Lin Su, "Mr. Lin, you should go back first. Miss Chu Xia is pregnant. I know it might be too abrupt for me to tell you this. I only found out by chance when I met Miss Chu Xia at the hospital, and I felt it was necessary to tell you. You can choose what to do yourself."

Lin Su was stunned and remained in shock for a long time.

Wei Qiao's words were like a bolt of lightning, instantly shattering Lin Su's calm and stirring up a storm within him. He stood frozen in place, as if struck by lightning, unable to react for a moment.

I got pregnant in early summer...

The news struck him like a bolt from the blue, instantly throwing his thoughts into chaos.

The image of Chu Xia appeared in his mind; the beautiful times they had spent together and the tragedy that followed played back in his mind like a movie.

Lin Su didn't know how to face the child, nor how to face Chu Xia. Their relationship was like a shattered mirror; even if pieced back together, it could never be the same. He had thought their entanglement was over, but the appearance of this child made everything unpredictable.

From the moment Chu Xia ran away from her wedding in early summer, their relationship had already come to an end. His resentment and disappointment towards Chu Xia burned like a raging fire, but at this moment, these emotions seemed to vanish. He began to doubt whether he truly understood Chu Xia, and whether he could truly let go of this relationship.

However, he quickly dismissed his own thoughts. Early summer's betrayal had caused him immense pain, but now he was the one suffering the most. This helplessness suffocated him.

Seeing Xiao Wanqing's bloodstains still on the beach, Lin Su was somewhat alarmed. He staggered away from the beach and walked towards the roadside.

Sitting in the car, Lin Su gripped the steering wheel tightly, his fingers turning slightly white from excessive tension. The car was filled with thick smoke, and he lit one cigarette after another, as if only in this way could he relieve the depression and anxiety in his heart.

He tried to remain calm, but his heart raced and his breathing became rapid whenever he thought of Chu Xia's pregnancy. His hands trembled as he picked up the cigarette butt, trying to light it, but failed several times.

Lin Su's eyes revealed deep inner turmoil and confusion. He felt as if his heart had been torn in two.

He brought the cigarette to his lips with trembling hands, took a deep drag, and slowly exhaled, his whole body shaking uncontrollably.

After a while, Lin Su finally took his phone out of the car. His fingers slid across the screen, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He opened the dial pad and dialed a number he knew by heart.

He pressed the dial button, and the familiar ringtone came from the other end of the line, but just as the ringtone was about to end, the other party abruptly hung up. Lin Su was stunned, and a strange sense of loss welled up in his heart.

Unwilling to give up, he dialed again.

The call was disconnected again.

Lin Su got a little annoyed, and his stubbornness kicked in; he called again.

The next second, a voice came from the other end saying, "Sorry, the number you dialed is currently switched off."

Lin Su clenched her fists tightly, calmed herself down, and then dialed the phone number of Chu Xia's father, Chu Peng.

"Xiao Lin," Chu Peng answered the phone quickly, his voice sounding tired. He still felt indebted to Lin Su for his daughter's elopement.

"Uncle, is Chu Xia with you?" Lin Su didn't beat around the bush and went straight to the point.

"No." Chu Peng was taken aback, not expecting Lin Su to call and ask about Chu Xia. He had heard that the two had fallen out, but something felt off, so he immediately asked, "What happened? What's wrong?"

"Uncle, Chu Xia is pregnant," Lin Su said, taking a deep breath.
