Just then, the downstairs door opened.
It was Gu Qingyan's parents who had returned. They had just entered the house when they heard the sound of someone kicking the door from upstairs.
The housekeeper stepped forward and explained, "Miss Ningning has arrived." Mu Ziqi frowned and immediately pulled Gu Suian upstairs, "Qingyan and Ningning must have started fighting again. There hasn't been a single day of peace in the house."
Sure enough, as soon as they went upstairs, they saw Gu Qingyan still violently kicking the door and a bodyguard standing to the side with a helpless expression.
The bodyguard spotted Mu Ziqi walking ahead immediately, and as if grasping at a lifeline, he quickly called out, "Madam, you're back."
Upon hearing this, Gu Qingyan turned around and glanced at them. When he saw the tense faces of Mu Ziqi and Gu Suian, he stopped in his tracks.
"Mom and Dad, you're back," Gu Qingyan said expressionlessly.
"What are you trying to do? Are you going to tear the house down?" Gu Suian said coldly, unable to help but reprimand him.
“Ningning locked the door, and I asked her to open it, but she refused,” Gu Qingyan explained.
"If you refuse, I'll tear the house down?" Gu Suian stepped forward, his face full of anger, then raised his hand and knocked on the door. "Ningning, it's your uncle. Come out."
Gu Ningning cautiously walked over and whispered, "Uncle, please keep an eye on my brother, I'm afraid he'll beat me up!"
"Wait till you come out, I'll beat you to death!" Gu Qingyan shouted through gritted teeth at the door.
"Nonsense!" Gu Suian was completely enraged and shouted, "How far do you two siblings intend to go before you stop?!"
"Uncle, you have to promise to protect me, otherwise I won't dare to open the door." Gu Ningning's voice was timid as she repeatedly asked for confirmation.
"Qingyan, calm down. When are you going to stop making a scene?" Mu Ziqi was really tired and advised, "Ningning is being unreasonable. Don't take it to heart. I'll have someone take her home later."
Upon hearing this, Gu Qingyan sneered, "Mom, you have no idea what she's done! She's taken everything Wanqing likes from me! If she doesn't hand it over, I guarantee she'll never leave this house!"
"It's all because of Xiao Wanqing again?!" Mu Ziqi was furious. Her face turned ashen, and she ordered the bodyguard, "Get this unfilial son out of here!" Her voice was full of authority and left no room for doubt.
Upon hearing this, the bodyguards who had followed them stepped forward, trying to pull Gu Qingyan away. However, Gu Qingyan struggled desperately like a wild lion, trying to break free from their restraints.
"I won't leave until I get what I want!" Gu Qingyan said fiercely as he struggled, his voice filled with determination. "If you dare touch me again, get out of the Gu family!"
The bodyguards hesitated, unsure whether to disobey Mu Ziqi's orders or actually lay a hand on Gu Qingyan. After all, he was the eldest son of the Gu family, their master. Even if there was conflict between mother and son now, they would ultimately be the ones to suffer if things improved.
At this moment, under Gu Suian's repeated reassurances, Gu Ningning had opened the door a crack. Holding the box, she cautiously glanced in Gu Qingyan's direction, then quickly hid behind Gu Suian, as if this would keep all dangers out.
“Uncle, you have to keep your word!” Gu Ningning said softly, her voice revealing a hint of unease and worry. “I don’t want to get beaten up by my brother again.”
Looking at Gu Ningning's terrified eyes, Gu Suian took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, and said, "Ningning, you should go home first."
Gu Qingyan turned to look at Gu Suian, knowing that Gu Suian was on the verge of exploding, but seeing the box in Gu Ningning's hand, she immediately shouted, "Don't go!"
Gu Qingyan rushed forward and tried to snatch the box back from her without saying a word.
Gu Ningning quickly dodged backward, then opened the box to show Gu Qingyan, "Look, I said I only want this box, I don't want the rest!" Her voice even revealed a hint of grievance and dissatisfaction.
However, Gu Qingyan ignored her words and frowned immediately when he saw the empty box.
"Where are the things inside?!" Gu Qingyan was furious. He suddenly raised his head, glaring fiercely at Gu Ningning, his eyes seemingly spitting fire. "And the photos?! Where did you hide the photos?! If you don't tell me, I'll kill you!"
Gu Ningning was startled by Gu Qingyan's anger. She took a few steps back, her body trembling uncontrollably. "I didn't take the photos. What use are her photos anyway!" Her voice was choked with sobs, sounding helpless and terrified.
"You still dare to argue?!" Gu Qingyan roared, like a wild lion. He charged forward and grabbed Gu Ningning's clothes. "I'm warning you, if you don't hand it over, I'll make you wish you were dead!"
"Gu Qingyan, do you know what you're saying?" Gu Suian shouted angrily, stepping forward to pull him away, but Gu Qingyan grabbed Gu Ningning's neck and threatened, "Dad, don't come any closer!"
Gu Ningning trembled with fear, knowing that Gu Qingyan was a man of his word. Seeing there was no way to avoid it, she swallowed hard and cautiously pointed to the room, "It's inside! Go get it yourself!" Her voice was trembling and weak.
Seeing this, Gu Qingyan shoved her aside and rushed into the room. When he saw the mess on the floor, he let out a painful roar. The broken objects seemed to be mocking his incompetence and stupidity.
The next second, Gu Qingyan rushed out and, before anyone could react, grabbed Gu Ningning, dragged her into the room, and forcefully pushed her to the ground. Caught off guard, Gu Ningning, still clutching the box, slammed heavily against the wall, her leg hitting a table leg. She heard a sharp crack, as if her bones were breaking, and screamed in pain, breaking out in a cold sweat.
Gu Ningning curled up on the ground, her body convulsing in pain. Tears streamed down her cheeks, mingling with the dust on the ground. She felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She looked up at Gu Qingyan, only to see his cold and ruthless eyes. At that moment, she felt as if she were in an ice cellar, chilled to the bone.
Gu Suian and Mu Ziqi walked in and were about to help Gu Ningning up when Gu Qingyan quickly squatted down, grabbed Gu Ningning forcefully, slapped her hard across the face, and roared, "You're so heartless! Wanqing is already dead, and you still want to treat her like this!"
"I only hate that I can't kill her with my own hands!" Gu Ningning shouted, her eyes filled with hatred.
Gu Suian and Mu Ziqi exchanged a glance, then left. Standing at the door, Gu Suian instructed the bodyguard, "Take the second young lady to the hospital, and kick the young master out."
