Chapter 479 A Worry Is Resolved

Xiaoling was forcibly taken into a dilapidated clinic, where dim lighting barely illuminated the narrow, old corridor. The air was filled with the pungent smell of disinfectant, and her mind was in turmoil, a mixture of fear and despair.

Two men roughly dragged Xiaoling by the arms, her feet scraping against the floor with a harsh sound. She struggled and screamed desperately, but her voice sounded so weak and helpless in the empty corridor. Her vision blurred, tears mingling with sweat as they slid down her pale cheeks.

They arrived at a dilapidated operating room. The door was ajar, and an even stronger smell of disinfectant wafted out. Xiaoling was shoved hard onto the operating table, the cold metallic touch sending a shiver down her spine.

"No, no..." Xiaoling cried out in terror, her voice filled with helplessness and despair. She looked at Shen Meiyan's cold face, her heart filled with hatred. She hated herself for being in this situation, hated Shen Meiyan for treating her so cruelly, "How could you do this to me?"

"Isn't this a business transaction? It's just that you hesitated, which is why I had someone bring you in. You could have chosen to come in by yourself, but you refused." Shen Meiyan curled her lip, coldly watching Xiaoling struggle, her face devoid of any sympathy or pity. She took out her phone and dialed a number, "Doctor, I've brought her. Let's begin."

A man's voice came from the other end of the phone, "Okay, I'll be right there."

Xiaoling's heart skipped a beat, and fear instantly overwhelmed her. She knew she was about to face an inescapable nightmare. She struggled to get up, but the two men were too strong; she couldn't break free. Helpless, she lay on the operating table, feeling the cold metallic touch, as if she were lying on the edge of death.

The operating room was even dimmer than the corridor outside, with only a single, rickety chandelier casting a faint glow. The paint on the walls was peeling, revealing the mottled cement beneath. A pile of old medical equipment and medicines, covered in a thick layer of dust, lay in the corner. A nauseating stench permeated the air, a mixture of disinfectant, decay, and blood.

In utter terror, Xiaoling felt her consciousness begin to blur; despair rendered her unable to think. Her vision blurred, and she could only see Shen Meiyan's cold face and the two men's狰狞 (zhengning, meaning ferocious or hideous) expressions. Her heart was filled with endless hatred and resentment, and she began to regret accepting Shen Meiyan's money.

Suddenly, the operating room door was pushed open, and a man in a white coat walked in. His face was unusually pale, as if he had been in such a dark environment for too long, devoid of any color. His eyes were deep and dark, yet they revealed a strange excitement and fanaticism. This excitement and fanaticism contrasted sharply with the dilapidated and gloomy surroundings, sending chills down one's spine.

"Ready? We're about to begin." His voice was hoarse and deep, like an old record polished with sandpaper, every note filled with eeriness and unease.

Xiaoling's heart sank, and she felt her body begin to tremble. She knew she had nowhere to escape. She closed her eyes, tears streaming down her pale cheeks and dripping onto the operating table. Her heart was filled with endless sorrow and despair, as if swallowed by darkness.

Suddenly, she felt a sharp pain. She opened her eyes and saw the doctor holding a long syringe, injecting something into her body. She tried to struggle, but her body felt powerless and she couldn't move. She could only watch helplessly as this strange doctor controlled her.

In the last second before losing consciousness, she saw Shen Meiyan smirking triumphantly.

Hours later, when she awoke again, all was quiet. She lay on the cold operating table, the overhead light seeming even dimmer. She tried to move, but found her limbs nailed down, each movement incredibly difficult—the anesthesia hadn't worn off yet. She looked around; there was no one there.

A strong, metallic smell of blood filled her nostrils. The odor made her feel nauseous and terrified. She looked down at her body and saw that her clothes were stained crimson with blood. A powerful sense of fear washed over her; she knew she had been cruelly abandoned here.

This dilapidated clinic had become a living hell, filled with terror and despair. Xiaoling lay on the operating table, feeling the cold metallic touch and the thick smell of blood, her hatred growing wildly within her.

Just when Xiaoling felt utterly hopeless, she suddenly heard a creak and the operating room door was pushed open. She looked up and saw a familiar figure appear in the doorway—it was Shen Meiyan.

Shen Meiyan leaned against the wall, arms crossed, a complex emotion in her eyes. Looking at Xiaoling's surprised expression, a strange smile played on her lips as she teased, "What? You thought I was just going to leave you here to die?"

Xiaoling's heart skipped a beat; she couldn't believe her eyes. Looking at Shen Meiyan, she asked in a trembling voice, "Why are you back?"

Shen Meiyan glanced at her indifferently. "I do despise you and worry about you destroying my family, but I don't kill people. I have no reason to create such a huge hidden danger for myself." Her voice was calm and indifferent, as if she were talking about something trivial.

After she finished speaking, she stepped aside to let two women in white nurse uniforms walk in.

As the nurse pushed Xiaoling toward the ward, Shen Meiyan followed slowly behind.

This big problem is now solved.

After instructing the two men she had hired to take turns guarding the ward door, Shen Meiyan picked up her small bag and left.

Sitting in the car, Shen Meiyan put on some upbeat music and felt very happy. She thought she was really amazing for accomplishing such a great thing.

Back home, Shen Meiyan couldn't suppress the smile on her face.

"Meiyan, what's making you so happy? Tell Daddy." Shen Yanshan waved to Shen Meiyan.

"It's nothing." Thinking of how Shen Yanshan had yelled at her last time, Shen Meiyan was still a little annoyed, so she didn't give him a friendly look.

"You child, are you still holding a grudge against your old man?" Shen Yanshan frowned unhappily and scolded.

"I already said it's nothing, I just watched a really exciting revenge movie and got a little involved, so I'm happy." Shen Meiyan walked over, threw her bag on the sofa, and sat down casually.
