"I didn't notice just now, these grapes are so fresh." Si Mingyu looked down and said somewhat embarrassedly.
Shen Zhi Qiu wiped the sweat from her cheeks with her sleeve; she was still a bit hot after walking all this way.
A moment later, a pale yellow handkerchief was handed to her. She glanced at it and stared in surprise.
"What era are we living in? Still carrying a handkerchief, and in this tacky yellow color at that. The pink flowers on it are just too gaudy." Lu Jia glanced at it and mocked Si Mingyu with disdain.
"This is a handkerchief that Zhi Qiu gave me. She embroidered the pattern herself." Si Mingyu's face was filled with a gentle smile, and his clear and bright eyes were fixed on Shen Zhi Qiu. He did not feel displeased at all because of Lu Jia's sarcasm.
Lu Jia glared at Si Mingyu resentfully, her nose wrinkling in frustration.
Feeling Si Mingyu's burning gaze fixed on her, Shen Zhi Qiu's body stiffened slightly. She pursed her lips and said, "It was all because I was ignorant and messed around with it back then. It's been so many years, and no one uses handkerchiefs anymore. I can throw it away."
"I've carried it with me for so many years, I'm used to it, and I can't bear to part with it." Si Mingyu looked at her, making no attempt to hide the tenderness in his eyes. For a moment, Lu Jia couldn't tell whether he was referring to the handkerchief or the person.
"Zhiqiu, Grandma is waiting for us. Let's go upstairs and have some fruit first." Lu Jia frowned, grabbed Shen Zhiqiu's arm, and gestured for her to look into the yard.
Grandma and Lu Xiaoyu had returned home sometime earlier and were now placing washed grapes on the table in the courtyard, calling out to them to hurry back and eat grapes together.
Just as he was about to go over, Si Mingyu's phone rang, and he took his phone out of his pocket.
Shen Zhi Qiu happened to be next to him and inadvertently glanced at the three words "Gu Qing Yan" flashing on the screen.
