Chapter 49 Picking Grapes

"Grandma! Try it and see if it's sweet!"

"Grandma! Look, this bunch is even more purple, it must be sweeter, let's pick them all and take them home!"

As Shen Zhi Qiu and Lu Jia Gang reached the entrance of the vineyard, they heard Lu Xiao Yu's cheerful voice.

Shen Zhi Qiu smiled slightly and walked towards them in a cheerful mood.

"Sweet! These grapes are so sweet! I wish I could eat them every day." Grandma tasted the grapes Lu Xiaoyu handed her and said happily.

“Then let’s eat it every day. If it’s not enough, I’ll ask Brother Lu to keep growing it!” Lu Xiaoyu casually agreed, and then reached out and picked another bunch.

"Hey, you little brat! You didn't help when we were planting grapes, but you're quite good at bossing me around!" Lu Jia felt a bit hot, so he casually took off his gray sports jacket and held it in his hand. He heard Lu Xiaoyu's words as he walked into the vineyard, so he shouted in dissatisfaction.

"Brother Lu! What brings you here! Hehe, I was just thinking that Grandma loves to eat this! Right, Sister Zhi Qiu?" Lu Xiaoyu spotted Shen Zhi Qiu walking ahead and quickly sought refuge.

"You're such a good girl." Shen Zhi Qiu said to him with a smile, then walked to her grandmother, took the grapes from her hands, put them into the bamboo basket she had brought, and said softly, "Grandma, let's go back first. You've picked so many grapes already, we won't be able to finish them all if you pick any more."

Seeing that her grandmother was still a little reluctant to leave, Lu Jia said, "Grandma, if you like, we can come and pick fresh grapes to eat every day."

Grandma smiled with satisfaction and nodded in agreement.

The group slowly walked towards home.

Lu Jia stepped forward and said softly, "Give it to me." Then she took the bamboo basket from Shen Zhi Qiu's hand and handed it to Lu Xiao Yu, who was standing nearby. "Take it!"

Lu Xiaoyu pouted and muttered in dissatisfaction, "You've done all the good work, but I have to do all the work."

"Hey kid, what are you muttering about? Don't think I didn't hear you." Lu Jia glared at him, and Lu Xiaoyu shut up, looking aggrieved as she moved closer to Shen Zhi Qiu.

"Why are you bullying the child?" Shen Zhi Qiu said irritably, then patted Lu Xiao Yu's head.

"You've even learned to tattle now." Lu Jia glared at Lu Xiaoyu and warned her in a low voice.

Lu Xiaoyu tugged at Shen Zhi Qiu's sleeve, "Sister Zhi Qiu, Brother Lu is still glaring at me."

Helpless, Shen Zhi Qiu let him go first, then turned back and glanced at Lu Jia with a smile that also carried a hint of reproach.

In the morning sunlight, her beautiful smile was bathed in a halo of light, which made Lu Jia stare in amazement. He was so distracted that he didn't notice a tree branch under his feet, tripped over it, and fell heavily to the ground.

"Hahahahahaha..." Lu Xiaoyu heard the noise, turned around and looked at the somewhat disheveled Lu Jia and burst into laughter.

Grandma looked worried and urged Zhi Qiu to go and see him: "Zhi Qiu, go and see him. How come this child is so big and still falls down when he walks? Is he not thinking straight?"

Hearing her grandmother say this, Shen Zhi Qiu suppressed the urge to laugh and quickly walked over.

"Are you alright?" Shen Zhi Qiu asked with concern.

"I think I hurt my leg." Lu Jia simply started acting like a child. "Come and help me up."

"Is it that serious?" Shen Zhi Qiu frowned, glanced at the downhill path ahead, and asked worriedly, "Can we still walk?"

"I might need you to help me up," Lu Jia said softly. "Otherwise, I might not be able to stand up by myself."

Worried that he might have hurt himself, Shen Zhi Qiu couldn't help but feel anxious: "I'm sure I can help you, but I'm worried that if your leg is seriously injured, you might not be able to walk anymore."

"Sister Zhi Qiu, why don't we call Brother Ming Yu and ask him to come and help my Brother Lu? If that's not possible, we can ask the dean to arrange for someone to carry my Brother Lu on a stretcher." Lu Xiaoyu suggested to Shen Zhi Qiu after seeing the situation.

"Oh yeah, how come I didn't think of that? Wait a minute, I'll call Mingyu." He took out his phone to make a call.

“Hey! No need!” Lu Jia suddenly stood up and pressed down on Shen Zhi Qiu’s hand that was dialing the phone. “I’ve rested a bit and I’m much better now. I can walk and jump again. There’s no need to send that Si Ming Yu over.”

"Are you alright?" Shen Zhi Qiu looked at his leg with some doubt, still a little worried.

"It's nothing, really nothing. I'm tough, I've been falling all the time since I was little." Lu Jia said, taking a few steps to show Shen Zhi Qiu, then glared at Lu Xiao Yu with a hint of annoyance. Lu Xiao Yu shrank back, curled the corners of her lips, and caught up with her grandmother.

From afar, Shen Zhi Qiu spotted a familiar figure waiting at the entrance of the villa. He was leaning against a tree with his head slightly lowered, and honestly, he was so handsome that it was hard to look away. Hearing the noisy footsteps, Si Ming Yu looked up and saw a group of people walking towards him.

"Mingyu, you're awake? Let's go play ball!" Lu Xiaoyu excitedly ran a few steps, carrying a basket. Si Mingyu also walked towards them.

These past few days have made Lu Xiaoyu extremely happy. Not only have new people come to the quiet sanatorium to play with him, but Si Mingyu is also a great basketball player. Lu Xiaoyu pesters him every day to teach him a few moves, wanting to play well and look cool too.

"Okay, we'll go in a bit." Si Mingyu replied gently, but his eyes were fixed on Shen Zhi Qiu's direction.

"Zhiqiu, you're up so early? Did you go up the mountain?" Si Mingyu glanced in the direction they had just come from and asked curiously.

"Mingyu, you weren't even looking at me properly. Look, we went to pick grapes." Lu Xiaoyu lifted the bamboo basket in her hand into the air, showing Si Mingyu the grapes she had picked that morning.
