"Why?!" Chu Xia suddenly cried out, "You promised me before that as long as I bowed my head and admitted my mistakes, you would forgive me!"
“But matters of the heart can’t be explained away with just a word of forgiveness.” Rong Mo sighed, his voice weary. His heart was filled with helplessness and conflict. He knew he had made up his mind to sever ties with Chu Xia, but he couldn’t bear to face her tears and pleas. He felt his heart clenching, as if it were being torn apart.
"Early Summer, I've made up my mind to go and draw a clear line." Rong Mo's voice was low and firm. He knew he had to do this, for himself and for Chu Xia. He couldn't let this relationship continue to drag on; otherwise, it would only cause them both more pain.
"No!" Chu Xia sobbed, her voice filled with despair and sorrow. "I know you love me! You clearly love me! You've loved me for so many years, how could you suddenly change your mind?!" She refused to believe it, refused to accept this fact.
“Chu Xia, this has nothing to do with changing my mind. When you repeatedly asked me to erase the traces of the past, and repeatedly hurt me for Lin Su, you should have known that there was no future between us. I have done as you asked, Chu Xia, I can't turn back.” Rong Mo's voice turned cold, no longer swayed by Chu Xia's tears. He knew that this was the choice he had to make, and his only choice.
"I don't care. You come see me first! You know where I am." Chu Xia shouted into the phone, "If you don't come, I'll jump off this building in half an hour, and I guarantee you'll regret it for the rest of your life!" Her voice was filled with despair and determination.
