Rong Mo sat on the sofa, closing his eyes to rest, looking somewhat tired.
Suddenly, his phone rang.
He took out his phone and saw it was an unknown number, so he hung up immediately.

"Hello?" Rong Mo sat up straight and answered the phone.
"President Rong? This is Lu Wei." Lu Wei's somewhat anxious voice came from the other end of the line.

"No." Lu Wei hesitated. "Has Chu Xia really not contacted you? She ran away from her wedding."
"What?" Rong Mo jumped up from the sofa in shock. His face was filled with disbelief. How could this be?
In his view, Chu Xia loved Lin Su so much that she would never run away from the wedding.
For Lin Su's sake, she said so many extremely resolute things to him.
He simply couldn't believe she would run away from the wedding.
Rong Mo had a bit of a headache, but then she thought about it again and realized that this kind of willful behavior really did seem like her way of doing things.

"Where are you in early summer?" Rong Mo asked.

"Why did you run away from the wedding?" Rong Mo continued to ask.
“Because…because I don’t love Lin Su, the person I love is you,” Chu Xia said.
Rong Mo's heart sank. He hadn't expected Chu Xia to say something like that at this moment.
“I don’t like jokes like this, especially in early summer.” Rong Mo frowned, his feelings complicated.
“I’m not joking, I’m telling the truth,” Chu Xia said. “Rong Mo, I know what I’m doing is selfish, but I can’t care about that anymore. I don’t want to deceive myself anymore, and I don’t want to deceive you anymore. If you don’t want to accept me, then I will leave and never bother you again.”
Rong Mo didn't know what to say, so he remained silent.
"You must think I'm crazy. I did so many things to hurt you before, and I ignored the fact that you were waiting for me to come back to China. It's all my fault for spoiling you."
I stubbornly forced myself not to love you and tried to slowly accept Lin Su.
As time went on, I genuinely came to believe that I truly loved Lin Su, especially after learning about his past, which always made me feel sorry for him. Moreover, he had always treated me very, very well, and I felt that we could get married without any regrets.

Last week, I found the ring you gave me at home, and I just couldn't hold it in anymore. We had so many wonderful memories together, why didn't I cherish them?
"I was so scared that I ran away today because I was so scared of my wedding." Chu Xia said, bursting into tears, her voice choked with sobs.
"Chu Xia, you know we can't go back." Rong Mo said calmly. Although he still couldn't help but feel sorry for Chu Xia when he heard her crying, he also knew that what's done is done, and it wasn't that he hadn't given her a chance.
