Chapter 410 Gu Qingyan Faces the News of Xiao Wanqing's Death

“She’s dead.” Rong Mo said coldly, his face tense. “She should have been completely devoured by sharks.”

Gu Qingyan felt as if his heart had been struck by a heavy hammer, the pain almost suffocating him. His bloodshot eyes widened, seemingly spitting fire, as he stared intently at Rong Mo, his gaze filled with anger and despair. His hands were clenched into fists, the wounds on his arms still oozing blood from the strain, mingling with the tears that streamed down his hands.

"What did you say?!" he roared, his voice hoarse and pained, each word seeming to be squeezed out from the depths of his heart.

Rong Mo looked at him expressionlessly, his tone cold and cruel: "I said, she's dead, eaten by sharks. You should be glad the world is rid of one scourge."

Gu Qingyan's body trembled violently. He felt his heart had stopped beating, and the whole world was spinning. He couldn't believe his ears; the person he loved so deeply had left him just like that.

"No...it can't be..." he murmured to himself, tears streaming down his face like broken beads. "Wanqing...Wanqing, I'm sorry, it's all my fault for not seeing my own heart sooner, making you suffer so much..."

He struggled to his feet, but collapsed to the ground due to his weakness. He lay on the cold floor, his hands clenched tightly, as if to ease the pain in his heart, each breath accompanied by sharp, throbbing pain.

"Your son is truly stubborn and insane!" Mu Ziqi said through gritted teeth to Gu Suian. Gu Suian, with a cold face, looked at Gu Qingyan's mad behavior and clutched his heart in anger.

Mu Ziqi's face was ashen, her eyes filled with disappointment and frustration towards Gu Qingyan. Gu Suian, on the other hand, had an icy expression, his gaze fixed on his son's out-of-control state, the pain in his heart seemingly reminding him that this son had utterly disappointed him.

Just then, a knock on the door broke the tense atmosphere inside. The bodyguard opened the door, and Huang Lin strode in with several of his men. As soon as he entered, he shouted, "Mr. Gu, I'm here."

Hearing Huang Lin's familiar voice, Gu Qingyan felt a glimmer of hope. He immediately stopped crying, sat up abruptly, and said with a hint of excitement in his voice, "Huang Lin, you've come just in time!"

Huang Lin was stunned by the chaotic scene before him, his brows furrowed, clearly shocked by what he saw. He quickly stepped forward to help Gu Qingyan to her feet, but stopped halfway because Gu Suian's angry roar interrupted him.

"Let him go, don't help him up!" Gu Suian's voice was as cold and stern as the winter wind.

Huang Lin turned around and saw that Gu Suian and Mu Ziqi were also there. He quickly composed himself and greeted them respectfully. His hand hovered in the air for a moment, but he ultimately decided to obey Gu Suian's order and let go of Gu Qingyan's hand.

Seeing this, Gu Qingyan was furious. He wiped away the tears from the corners of his eyes, trying to maintain his composure. Faced with Huang Lin's arrival, he seemed to regain a sliver of confidence. He glared at Huang Lin, his voice carrying an undeniable command: "Help me up right now! Have you forgotten who pays your salary?!"

"President Gu, this..." Huang Lin stammered, unsure how to answer.

Rong Mo stared directly at Huang Lin, his tone icy and unyielding, "Get out of the way. This is the last time."

Rong Mo's voice brooked no argument. His bodyguards moved swiftly, surrounding Gu Qingyan and Huang Lin, their muscles tense, their eyes sharp, as if ready to explode at any moment. Huang Lin's men seemed somewhat powerless in the face of this imposing aura, and the situation suddenly became tense.

Huang Lin sensed a threat from Rong Mo. He glanced at Gu Suian, who nodded at him. Knowing he was powerless to change the situation, Huang Lin could only apologize to Gu Qingyan before silently stepping aside.

Mu Ziqi's voice trembled slightly, "Xiao Mo," she called Rong Mo softly.

“Auntie, I don’t know how…” Rong Mo replied.

But before he could finish speaking, Mu Ziqi interrupted him, "As long as it doesn't kill anyone, you can do whatever you want. Fine, give this unfilial son a good beating to wake him up!"

Gu Qingyan's face was pale. He looked at his mother in disbelief. "Mom! What are you saying?!" His voice was filled with shock and pain. "How could you and Dad let an outsider treat your son like this?!"

His voice choked with emotion, "I don't care, I won't leave. As long as I don't see Wanqing, I will never believe she's gone! I've realized that in this world, only Wanqing truly cares for me, only she is good to me." His words revealed an almost desperate persistence.

Huang Lin's eyes widened, and he wiped his sweat in fear. What was going on? At this moment, he began to regret that he shouldn't have come to the capital to get involved in this mess.

Rong Mo's lips curled into a cold smile, his eyes filled with disdain. "That's a real pity," he said through gritted teeth, his voice laced with sarcasm. "I really admire you, President Gu. You're truly deeply in love! I've never seen anyone as stubborn as you. Xiao Wanqing must have bewitched you."

His words were like a sharp knife, piercing deeply into Gu Qingyan's heart. Gu Qingyan's face instantly turned ashen; he clenched his fists, struggling to suppress his inner rage.

Rong Mo ignored Gu Qingyan's reaction. He turned around and said to Gu's parents, "I will send someone to take you back to the capital. Gu Ningning will also be sent over later. You will leave together." His tone was calm and firm.

Gu Qingyan's face darkened further upon hearing this. He glared at Rong Mo's retreating figure, his eyes blazing with fury. "You!" he shouted angrily, "Who do you think you are, daring to talk back to me like that? Let me tell you, once I return to Nancheng, I have plenty of ways to deal with you!"

Rong Mo seemed not to have heard his threat, his face cold as he slowly turned around. His eyes were deep and indifferent, like two pools of icy water. "Is that so?" he said calmly. "Then I'll wait. But Gu Qingyan, think it over. If you want to mess with me in the capital, you're still too naive. I can let you off once or twice for your parents' sake, but today, in front of your aunt and uncle, I dare say that if you set foot in the capital again, I will make sure you don't leave alive."
