Chapter 78 "Today I'm going to make you... shut up forever!"
Lin Yang was slammed against the wall by Lin Che, his back aching. He opened his eyes wide, but Lin Che's gaze was as cold as ice, and her knuckles pressed firmly against his collarbone, pinching him so hard that he could barely breathe.
“Lin Che…” His voice trembled, and his throat seemed to be blocked by something.
Lin Che suddenly let go of him, turned around and left without even giving him a spare glance.
Lin Yang looked at his back and suddenly felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Now, his only lifeline is Lin Che.
"elder brother--!"
The cry was almost heart-wrenching, and everyone in the corridor was startled, even Lin Yao was stunned.
Lin Che's footsteps suddenly stopped.
Lin Yang's voice was trembling and pleading with an unprecedented intensity: "Brother... please... help me..."
His knees felt weak and he almost fell to his knees, but he still held on to the wall tightly, staring at Lin Che's back with red eyes.
Lin Che didn't look back, but Lin Yang could see that his shoulders were slightly tense, as if he was trying hard to restrain something.
The air froze for a few seconds, and Lin Che suddenly turned around and punched Lin Yang in the abdomen.
"Don't fucking disgust me."
Lin Yang groaned, slid down to his knees with his back hunched, and rested his forehead on the cold tiles. The pain made him feel dizzy.
He clutched the fabric on his chest tightly, his knuckles turning white, and cold sweat instantly soaked his back.
The corridor was completely silent, and everyone was frozen in place.
Lin Che looked down at him, her eyes cold and terrifying. "Now you know how to call me brother?"
He leaned over and grabbed Lin Yang's collar, "What were you doing when my mom was lying in the ICU?"
Lin Yang's lips trembled and a bloody taste rose in his throat.
"You posted about your new sports car on your Moments." Lin Che's voice was soft, yet sharp as a knife. "And the caption was, 'The unlucky thing is finally going to die.'"
Lin Yang's pupils suddenly contracted. He wanted to explain himself, but found that he couldn't utter a word.
Lin Che let go of him, stood up, pulled a card from her pocket, and threw it on the ground. "This is all the money I have. This is the medical expenses Lin Zhenbang paid for my mother back then. Not a penny more, not a penny less. I'm returning it all to you today."
Lin Yang stared at the card and suddenly laughed, his eyes red. "Lin Che..." He raised his head, "You're so fucking cruel..."
He was given money but was not given even the last bit of dignity.
"I'm cruel?" Lin Che suddenly laughed. He squatted down, pinched Lin Yang's chin, and forced him to look up at him.
Lin Che's gaze fell on the now-tarnished necklace around Lin Yang's neck. Her slender fingers lifted the necklace and pulled it forward. The sharp pain in her neck made Lin Yang leap forward. "I've never worn such an expensive necklace before. Lin Zhenbang is so kind to you, his own son."
"Brother, if you like it I don't mind giving it to you." Blood flowed from the corner of Lin Yang's mouth as he spoke. He wiped it away with his hand without caring, and the gauze on his right little finger was stained scarlet again.
Lin Che scoffed. There was no warmth in her laughter, only bitter mockery. "The seeds you and your mother sowed have now borne such rotten fruit. It's only natural! Your current fate isn't even worth the interest!"
He suddenly shook his hand away, and Lin Yang lost his support and fell to the ground again in a mess. His forehead hit the cold ground heavily, making a dull sound.
The wound on his broken little finger was squeezed hard, and the piercing pain made his eyes go black. He couldn't help but curl up and let out a suppressed groan of pain.
Lin Che stood up, looking down at her like he was looking at a pile of dirty garbage. He slowly pulled a disinfectant wipe from his pocket and meticulously wiped the fingers that had just touched Lin Yang, leaving no gaps between them untouched.
"Put away your pitiful look, Lin Yang." Lin Che accurately tossed the used wipes into the nearby medical waste bin. "Your tears and blood only make me sick. Get away from me now, and don't expect me to show even a shred of sympathy to a scum like you."
"Give up on this idea."
Just as Lin Che was about to completely disappear around the corner of the corridor, Lin Yang, who was lying on the ground, suddenly raised his head. The last trace of pretended pity in his bloodshot eyes completely faded away, leaving only the madness of desperate rage and the resentment of a desperate gamble.
"Lin Che!" He roared hoarsely, his voice like sandpaper rubbing against each other, filled with desperate ruthlessness. "Do you trust Lu Yu so much?! Aren't you curious... what was the photo I sent him that night?!"
Lin Che's footsteps suddenly stopped in place.
The air in the corridor seemed to be instantly sucked out, leaving it in an eerie, deathly silence. Lin Yao and several colleagues who hadn't had time to leave held their breath and looked at each other, completely confused as to what this sudden turn of events meant.
Lin Yang struggled to prop up his upper body with his uninjured hand, a twisted and smug smile appeared on the corner of his mouth, and blood mixed with saliva flowed down, looking particularly creepy.
He stared at Lin Che's instantly stiff back, as if he had grasped the last poisonous sting that could hurt him.
"You said... someone like Lu Yu, seeing those photos..." Lin Yang lowered his voice, full of malicious temptation.
Lin Che didn't look back, but the hands hanging by her side, their knuckles white from being pinched so hard, were trembling slightly.
He didn't want to bother with this mad dog.
Seeing that he didn't refute immediately, Lin Yang's eyes became even more crazy. He almost took a kind of revengeful pleasure and continued panting: "Haha...has he never asked you? That's right, Lu Yu is such a proud man, why would he ask? He would just keep it to himself, and then...sentence you to death in his heart!"
"By the way—my dear brother, you colleagues don't realize that the hypocritical sweetness between you is all a disguise, right?"
Lin Yang's eyes swept over the growing crowd that came to watch the excitement, and caught the suspicion and wonder that permeated the dead silence. Like a hyena that smelled blood, he struggled to support his body with his uninjured hand, leaning his back against the cold wall, his head tilted up, his face showing the crazy pleasure of having his face completely torn apart.
Lin Yang ignored Lin Che's shoulders, which were tense to the limit, and his fists, which were clenched so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He used all his strength to throw the "bomb" that was enough to detonate the entire hospital at everyone.
"You've all been fooled by him! Do you think that Lin Che and Lu Yu are some kind of celestial couple? Bullshit! They're just a complete deal! A marriage by agreement! A signed contract in black and white! After three years, they'll automatically divorce! Each of them will go their separate ways! Hahahaha... All this love and sweetness is just an act for you idiots!"
Every word was like a poisoned ice cone, fiercely chiseling into Lin Che's eardrum.
Lin Che's body swayed imperceptibly. The immense humiliation and panic of being stripped naked in public washed over him like an icy tide.
The arranged marriage was an unspoken secret between him and Lu Yu. It belonged only to the two of them, and no one ever mentioned it after they fell in love.
Now, it was torn to pieces by Lin Yang in the most unbearable way, in front of everyone!
Lin Yang looked at Lin Che's silent but on the verge of collapse back, and looked at the colorful doubts and surprises on his colleagues' faces. A twisted sense of revenge surged through his body, overwhelming the severe pain.
He continued to fan the flames hoarsely, his voice tinged with cruel laughter: "What? Don't you dare to refute? My good brother? Oh, right, and that little bastard Lu Yu'an... He doesn't even know who his biological father is."
"Well--!"
Lin Che's hands were like iron pliers, tightly gripping Lin Yang's neck. He lifted him up from the ground, and slammed his back against the wall with a dull thud.
Lin Yang's feet left the ground, kicking in vain, his throat creaking from being pinched, his eyes bulging out from suffocation and fear, bloodshot, staring intently at the Shura-like Lin Che in front of him.
"If you dare... say one more word about An An..." Lin Che's voice was squeezed out from between his teeth, "Today I will make you... shut up forever!"
Lin Yang struggled desperately, using his uninjured hand to pry Lin Che's iron-like hand apart. He let out a desperate gasp from his throat, and his face quickly turned from pale to a terrifying purple.
"Lin Che! Let go!" Lin Yao was the first to react, rushing forward and hugging Lin Che's arm. "Calm down! Someone could die!"
"Cough! Cough cough cough--!" Lin Yang slid to the ground like a puddle of mud, covering his neck and coughing and retching violently. The fear of surviving the disaster made his whole body tremble like a sieve.
Lin Yang almost succeeded, and Lin Che sneered, "Don't die in front of me."
