Chapter 83 "My uncle is here...My uncle is holding you..."

Chapter 83 "My uncle is here...My uncle is holding you..."

Lin Che didn't even see how Lu Yu moved, but the buttons on his shirt had already been skillfully unbuttoned.

Before he could react, Lu Yu's teeth had already bitten into his collarbone.

"Hiss—"

As soon as Lu Yu's lips touched the slightly concave sensitive skin on Lin Che's collarbone, the warm touch with moisture instantly ignited Lin Che's nerves, and he almost subconsciously let out a short gasp.

Lu Yu's lips rubbed along the line of the collarbone, leaving a slight tingling and burning sensation.

Lin Che's fingers dug deeply into the soft leather of the sofa, and his body arched slightly under Lu Yu's pressure.

The confused thoughts were made even more chaotic by this intimate touch, leaving only the clear sensation on the skin screaming wildly.

On the verge of completely swallowing the two of them—

"Uncle..."

A sleepy, babyish voice called out from the direction of the stairs.

Time seemed to freeze in an instant.

Lin Che's head buzzed, and he suddenly opened his eyes. All the blood rushed to his head, and then disappeared in the next second.

At the corner of the stairs, a small figure was standing there, dragging a pillow almost as high as himself, rubbing his sleepy eyes.

Lu Yu'an was obviously not fully awake yet, his hair was messy from sleeping, and his little face showed confusion and a little bit of grievance from being woken up.

"Uncle..." He called out vaguely again, his eyes half open and half closed, as if he had not yet seen the chaotic scene on the sofa.

But this call was like a thunderclap to Lin Che!

“!”

Lin Che used almost all his strength to push Lu Yu, who was still immersed in his neck, away!

Lu Yu was caught off guard and pushed backward, hitting the back of the sofa and letting out a muffled groan.

The lust in his eyes had not yet completely faded, and he followed Lin Che's frightened gaze towards the stairs.

Lin Che no longer cared about Lu Yu. He jumped up from the sofa in a panic, his movements as frantic as a frightened rabbit.

Two buttons of the shirt were undone, and the collar was open, revealing the collarbone that had just been kissed by Lu Yu, and an ambiguous, moist red mark was visible under the dim light in the living room.

He only felt that the skin was as dazzling as if it had been burned by a branding iron. His fingers were shaking violently as he tried to button the damn button with trembling hands.

One, two... His fingertips were stiff and cold due to excessive tension. The small buttonhole seemed to be against him and he couldn't button it no matter what.

He could even feel Lu Yu's scrutinizing gaze on the back of his hand, which made him even more flustered. His cheeks were burning hot and he wished he could disappear right away.

“An, An An?” Lin Che forced himself to squeeze out a few sounds, trying to make his tone sound normal, but the voice that came out of his dry throat was obviously trembling and guilty. “You… why did you wake up?”

As he spoke, he subconsciously tightened his collar with his hands, trying to cover up the obvious mark. He didn't dare look at Lu Yu'an, let alone Lu Yu next to him.

Lu Yu'an finally opened his eyes completely, pouting his lips. He dragged his pillow and slowly walked down the last two steps. With the drowsy feeling of just waking up, he said, "I'm awake... thirsty."

His eyes fell on Lin Che's flushed face and flustered movements, then he glanced at his uncle, whose face was gloomy and his aura was obviously not right. His childish intuition made him feel a little uneasy, but he was more concerned about his own needs. "Uncle, my little pillow fell to the ground... I want to hold it while I sleep."

The little guy stood in the middle of the living room, holding his big pillow, looking at the weird atmosphere between the two adults in confusion.

Lin Che's flushed face, open collar, and frantic buttoning movements, his uncle's tightly pursed lips, and the low pressure that almost solidified into substance, all exceeded his small understanding.

All he knew was that he was thirsty, his pillow had fallen off, and he needed help.

Lu Yu took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and with a barely noticeable stiffness in his movements, he straightened his somewhat messy collar.

Lin Che bent down and lifted Lu Yu'an into his arms, along with the pillow. He carefully placed Lu Yu'an on the dining chair next to the kitchen sink, then hurriedly stuffed the huge pillow back into the little guy's arms, letting him hold it. "Hold the pillow, I'll pour you some water. It'll be ready in no time."

As soon as Lu Yu'an looked up, his eyes met Lu Yu's.

"Uncle~" Lu Yu'an blinked his big wet eyes and looked at Lu Yu harmlessly. The unsatisfied Lu Yu took a deep breath, but his big hands couldn't help but rubbed his curly hair.

Lin Che turned to grab the glass, his fingers still trembling slightly. He turned on the faucet, and the cold water rushed against the glass, making a gurgling sound. As he poured the water, he took a few deep breaths, trying to calm his flaming nerves.

He quickly buttoned up the remaining buttons on his chest, all the way to the top one, tightly hiding the skin marked by Lu Yu and all the unbearable traces.

After doing all this, he picked up the cup of water and walked over, carefully handing it to Lu Yu'an who was looking at him eagerly.

"Drink slowly, be careful of the heat... uh, it seems to be cold water." Lin Che's voice was still a little unstable.

Lu Yu'an hugged the pillow and drank water from Lin Che's hand in small sips. His big eyes looked at Lin Che curiously in the dim light.

Lin Che felt uncomfortable being stared at by him, her eyes dodging. She could only raise her hand and wipe the sweat from her forehead.

Just as Lu Yuan finished drinking the water, burped contentedly, and was about to rub against Lin Che again while hugging the pillow—

“Tick, tick, tick…”

Clear and steady footsteps came from far away, slowly tapping on the floor outside the kitchen.

Every step seemed to be stepping on Lin Che's tense heartstrings.

Lin Che's body instantly stiffened, and he practically held his breath. He subconsciously pushed Lu Yu'an behind him, even though the action seemed futile and ridiculous in the small kitchen.

The sliding door of the kitchen was slowly opened by a hand.

Lu Yu's tall figure appeared at the door, almost blocking all the light coming in from the living room outside.

He changed his stance, leaning against the door frame with his arms folded across his chest. He didn't come in immediately, but just stood there silently, his eyes fixed on Lin Che.

The air seemed to freeze, leaving only the sound of water dripping from the faucet that was not closed tightly, which seemed particularly harsh in the dead silence.

Lu Yu'an was somewhat disturbed by the sudden silence and stagnant atmosphere. He poked his head out from behind Lin Che and timidly called out, "Uncle..."

Lu Yu's gaze finally shifted from Lin Che's face to his little nephew.

"Have you finished the water?" Lu Yu's voice sounded, low and calm, with no emotion in his voice.

"Yeah!" Lu Yu'an nodded vigorously, hugged the pillow, and leaned against Lin Che's legs in dependence.

"Then let's eat." Lu Yu's tone was flat. He stood up and finally walked in. He walked straight towards Lu Yu'an.

He bent down and easily picked up Lu Yu'an, who was holding the pillow. Lu Yu'an was placed in his children's dining chair, and the huge pillow was temporarily placed on the chair next to him.

Lin Che lowered his head and sat down in his seat silently. He didn't dare to look at Lu Yu the whole time, and his fingers unconsciously pinched the chopsticks in front of him.

Lu Yu sat down at the main seat, picked up his chopsticks and put some easy-to-chew vegetables and minced meat into Lu Yu'an's small bowl.

"An An eats it by himself."

Lu Yuan nodded, grabbed the spoon with his little hands, and began to put food into his mouth awkwardly.

For a moment, the only sounds in the restaurant were the gentle clinking of dishes and the sounds of chewing.

At this moment, Lu Yu'an, who was diligently scooping rice with a spoon, slowed down. He stared at the bowl, his mouth pursed, and his long eyelashes drooped, covering his large eyes.

A small but clear whimper with a strong nasal tone broke the silence at the table.

"Wu...Uncle...I miss my mother..."

Click.

The chopsticks in Lin Che's hand suddenly fell onto the edge of the bowl, making a crisp sound.

His movement of picking up the food froze completely, and his heart suddenly shrank into a ball as if it was being tightly grasped by an invisible hand.

Almost as if by reflex, he suddenly raised his head and looked across the dining table at Lu Yu opposite him.

Lu Yu's knuckles, gripping the chopsticks, turned white from the force applied. He lowered his eyes, his gaze fixed on Lu Yu'an's lowered head. His thick eyelashes obscured all the emotion in his eyes.

He didn't respond to Lu Yu'an immediately, nor did he look at Lin Che. The air seemed to solidify, heavy and suffocating.

Lin Che looked at Lu Yu'an's slightly shaking shoulders and the tears dripping onto the edge of the plate. His throat felt like it was blocked by something, and it was so sour and bitter.

He understood this pain all too well. The unspeakable longing that suddenly struck him in the quiet of the night, amidst a bustling crowd, was like an icy tide that flooded his mouth and nose, suffocating him.

He had been like this many nights when he was little, hugging the cold blanket, biting his lips and not daring to cry out loud, simply because he knew crying was useless and his mother would not come back...

Lu Yu'an's silence and suppressed sobs at this moment made Lin Che's heart ache more than if he had burst into tears.

He couldn't let An An be like he was when he was a child, where when he needed comfort the most, all he got was cold silence.

In this suffocating silence, Lu Yu moved.

He put down his chopsticks, picked up the serving chopsticks, and picked up two of the largest and plumpest shrimp from the plate of boiled shrimp. He stretched out his arm and placed a shrimp steadily into the small bowl in front of Lu Yu'an.

Then, he turned his wrist, and another shrimp also landed steadily in Lin Che's bowl, which he had barely touched.

The movements were precise, without a trace of unnecessary emotion leaking out.

It was almost eerie in its calmness.

Lin Che looked at the red and white, still steaming shrimp in her bowl, then at the one in Lu Yuan's bowl, and then at Lu Yu.

Lu Yu had picked up his chopsticks again, as if he had just completed a very ordinary action of picking up food. His face still had that unfathomable calmness, and he began to eat the food in his bowl silently.

He looked at Lu Yu'an facing the shrimp in the bowl, his little shoulders still twitching silently.

"An'an..." Lin Che's voice trembled and choked with sobs. He stood up suddenly, the chair legs scraping against the floor. He walked around the dining table and quickly went to Lu Yu'an's children's chair.

He bent down, unfastened the safety buckle of the children's dining chair with trembling fingers, and carefully carried Lu Yu'an, who was still lowering his head and crying silently, out of the chair.

As soon as Lu Yu'an left the chair, her small, warm body nestled softly into Lin Che's arms. Her two small arms tightly wrapped around Lin Che's neck, and her little face buried deeply in the crook of his neck. Her hot tears instantly soaked the collar of Lin Che's shirt, which had just been buttoned meticulously.

Lin Che held the slightly trembling little body tightly in his arms, just like he was holding the helpless self of the past.

His chin rested lightly on the top of Lu Yu'an's soft hair, his eyes quickly turned red uncontrollably, and warm liquid accumulated at the bottom of his eyes.

Lin Che patted Lu Yu'an's back and repeated in the child's ear in a low, hoarse voice, as if comforting her once lonely self:

"Be good... An An, be good... don't cry... your uncle is here... your uncle is holding you..."

He held Lu Yu'an in his arms and slowly walked back to his seat and sat down. He didn't put the child back in the high chair, but let Lu Yu'an curl up in his arms, like a little animal seeking shelter, clinging to his chest.

Lin Che held the child in her arms, lowered her head with red eyes, and gently rubbed Lu Yuan's soft hair with her cheek, silently conveying clumsy comfort.
