However, the woman was wary of Gu Fanyan and hesitated to speak.
Gu Fanyan didn't have the patience to argue with her. Hearing that there were people inside, she stepped inside.

"Do you dare ask yourself if you've ever thought about protecting Shengxin?"
"Why did you send people abroad to intercept Lin Leming? You know best! It's simply to bring him back and make him take responsibility for Shengxin!"
"Do you think that the Gu family will let Sheng Xin go after she marries Lin Leming and gives birth to a child of the Lin family?"
“Lin Zhibai, Sheng Xin has tried to frame me time and time again. I won’t hold it against her, but she hurt my mother. This is not something to talk about.”
Lin Zhibai took a deep breath, his shoulders heaving: "What do you plan to do about this?"
Gu Fanyan found it ridiculous. Was he negotiating with her? Did he think there was anything to discuss about this?
"Stop with your childish tricks," she snapped. "I think we're completely incompatible, so let's save ourselves the trouble of seeing each other again."
After saying that, she turned and left.
Lin Zhibai stood in front of her, his handsome face cold and his eyes blazing with anger. "Gu Fanyan, explain yourself! What tricks did I play?"
He's angry!
How dare he get angry!
Gu Fanyan was also furious. "You know perfectly well whether there was something drugged in your wine at the banquet at the villa that day! You also know where Lin Leming got his drugs from!"

Gu Fanyan didn't understand.
Shouldn't he feel guilty after being exposed?
Why does he have that expression?
Suddenly, he released her. "You can go now."
He turned around, one hand covering his neck.
She wanted to leave, but couldn't move her feet.
"Go!" he urged again, his voice hoarse as if something was blocking his throat, followed by a violent cough.
He coughed so hard his back was bent over.
Gu Fanyan couldn't help but lower her eyes; she felt something was very strange.
She had so much evidence to prove she hadn't wronged him, so why did she feel a sense of loss...?
"Miss, Young Master Lin!" Assistant Jiang rushed over. "Oh, Young Master Lin, how are you?"
He hurriedly patted Lin Zhibai's back while glancing at Gu Fanyan.
Then he said, "Let's talk things out slowly. Even if someone has done something wrong, there must be a reason..."
Lin Zhibai straightened up and glanced at him.
Assistant Jiang immediately turned his gaze to Gu Fanyan: "Miss called me here because she has something to ask you. Miss, shall we ask now?"

She had just been so fiercely criticizing and questioning him, and now they were in the same room; it must have been a little awkward.
But Gu Fanyan felt fine. She poured him water, got him medicine, and wrung out a hot towel to wipe his face. She wasn't embarrassed at all when she was with him.
Lin Zhibai didn't give her a hard time; he did whatever she asked him to do.
