"Doesn't he usually report to you where he goes?" Gu Fanyan asked.
The assistants thought for a moment, and one of the younger assistants said, "Last time, Young Master Lin went to see Miss Sheng..."
"Shut up, what do you know? You're just spouting nonsense!"

Gu Fanyan sighed. "He's not at the hospital; he went to see Sheng Xin."
She was annoyed, feeling that she was superfluous.

So she left the room first.

Gu Fanyan opened her eyes wide in surprise; she really didn't know about this.
"When will it happen?" she asked.
“It was probably when Gu Zheng and Lin Guangchen’s matter was still unresolved,” Gu’s mother replied. “Your father felt that Lin Zhibai was useless and that you had suffered because of him.”
“That’s just how your dad is. He likes capable people, especially capable boys.” Gu’s mother could understand, “because your dad himself was quite capable when he was young.”
Gu Fanyan seemed to understand something and asked, "Why did he go to see my dad today?"
Mrs. Gu shook her head: "He went there this morning, but your father has been keeping him waiting in the reception room. He still hasn't seen him."
"Who told you he went to see Sheng Xin?" Gu's mother retorted.
"No...no one, I was just guessing." Gu Fanyan lowered her eyes and sat down on the sofa.
Mrs. Gu said anxiously, "Look at you, jumping to conclusions without even asking questions. If I hadn't called your father's assistant, wouldn't you two have misunderstood each other again?"
"Don't sit there, go to the company and find him."
Gu Fanyan didn't move her foot. She calmly asked, "If Dad objects, can we still be together?"
Gu's mother disagreed: "Unless there is a problem between the two of you, other people's opinions are actually irrelevant."
"If you're worried your dad will cancel your card, just use your mom's card. I don't believe he can cancel mine."
Gu Fanyan couldn't help but laugh, but now was no time for laughter.

He stood by the window in the corridor to get some fresh air, looking somewhat haggard and tired.
After all, he is a patient who is still recuperating in the hospital and whose wounds are still slowly healing.
As soon as Gu Fanyan's footsteps sounded, his attention was immediately drawn to her.
He paused in surprise, as if he hadn't expected her to be there.
He deliberately didn't tell his assistants that he was coming here, because he was afraid they would let it slip.
As Gu Fanyan approached, he quickly suppressed the panic in his eyes.
"Sister Fanyan," he said with a smile, "what a coincidence, what brings you to the company?"
"Why did you come?" Gu Fanyan asked.
"I...aren't I in charge of the project that Gu and Lin's companies are collaborating on? I've come to report to President Gu," Lin Zhibai said.
"Did my dad see you?" she asked.
“Um… Mr. Gu is a bit busy today, he’ll see me soon,” he replied.
"Okay, then I'll wait here with you." She stopped in her tracks.
"I don't think this is necessary, Sister Fanyan. Did you come here for something? You should go about your business," Lin Zhibai quickly said.
"I'm fine," Gu Fanyan replied.
Lin Zhibai let out a breath. If he still couldn't see through the ruse after all this, he would be a complete fool.
“You can’t hide anything from me. I have indeed been waiting here all day, but Uncle Gu is unwilling to see me,” he told the truth.
Gu Fanyan felt a pang in her heart.
Given his current physical condition, he probably can't withstand waiting here all day.
"Why are you looking for my dad?" she asked.
