Chapter 19: Ice and Snow Festival (I)



There's not even a tent. Sleeping outdoors in the middle of winter is such a hassle. Using chicken feathers for tents? Wouldn't that require a ton of animal skins? Although living conditions in the Hai Tribe had greatly improved, each person barely received a single animal skin of varying sizes to survive the winter.

However, we don't have the conditions to be so extravagant as to use precious animal skins to make tents yet.

Primitive people are cold, and wild animals are cold too. Along the way, we can occasionally see some frozen pheasants, red deer and the like. It’s not bad, as we have some meat to satisfy our hunger.

Even the hunting team of the Sea Tribe would not travel so far in the middle of winter.

Along the way, they didn't encounter any threats like large wolf packs, and arrived at the "Niupi" tribe relatively safely.

What to eat? Who provides the food?

Although the 'Niupi' tribe is wealthy, they would not be so extravagant as to provide food for so many tribes that come to participate in the 'Ice and Snow Conference'. It seems that everyone is used to bringing their own food and thinks it is natural.

Then again, if the Hai Tribe was still the small tribe it used to be, Ma Yue wouldn't bother mobilizing so many troops to participate in this crappy "Ice and Snow Conference".

Chief Hai greeted familiar tribal leaders; the Second Priest also greeted familiar tribal leaders. Ma Yue knew no one and didn't bother to greet them. Basic salt transactions didn't require Ma Yue to preside over them.

The timber-walled courtyard of the Niupi tribe was truly enormous. Ma Yue took a quick look and saw that there were already about thirty tribes, large and small, already there. He was sure that more tribes would continue to arrive to join in the fun.
