Chapter 20 The Obsession Finally Dissipates

Although An Gu Nian wasn't a stunning beauty, she was still pretty and charming. When she cried, two lines of tears streamed down her face, making her look like a pear blossom in the rain. Any man would probably be heartbroken.

But the people opposite were no ordinary people. The butler was old and naturally indifferent. Hei Ming was a blockhead, so don't expect him to have any pity. Even with Qi Quan, he didn't feel anything. He just thought women were too scary, especially female ghosts.

Not to mention Mo Linyuan and Feng Qingge, one of them was as cold and aloof as jade, and the other was a fake man. Neither of them uttered a word, only feeling annoyed.

"Alright, stop crying." Feng Qingge rolled her eyes. No wonder people say this woman is made of water; she's a ghost, yet she still cries so much.

With a cold snort, An Gu Nian stopped crying, but she was still sobbing, looking pitiful.

Seeing that she was remorseful and finally realized what she had done, Feng Qingge's tone softened, no longer as stern as before.

"It's good to like someone, but don't let your willfulness turn it into something bad. Also, you're already dead, a spirit, and no longer belong to the mortal world, so you have to reincarnate. You can't linger and be attached anymore. Besides, your liking and your attachment are causing trouble for His Excellency the Regent." He spoke with a heavy heart, advising her.

An Gu Nian nodded, sobbing, and stole a glance at the ethereal figure standing a few steps away. She whispered, "I understand."

Upon hearing her words, Feng Qingge finally breathed a sigh of relief, "It's good that you know." She was spared the torment of her soul being scattered.

"Actually, I just wanted to get the prince's attention. Back then, when I came to the capital with my father, everything was new and exciting. I was also proud and arrogant, and I never submitted to anyone. When they talked about the prince, saying how powerful and handsome he was, I was a little dismissive. So I wanted to see if the prince was as good as they said." An Gu Nian lowered her eyes and slowly recounted the story, still showing some arrogance when she talked about what happened back then.

But then, that pride turned into shyness. "One day, I secretly hid at the palace gate, wanting to see the man of legend. But..." But when she saw how handsome he was, her heart fell for him. So she begged her father to ask the emperor to let her marry him. But, to her surprise, he refused outright and didn't even glance at her.

Later, feeling humiliated by him, her father took her back home. From then on, she was constantly depressed, losing all her former pride. A fall into the water eventually left her with a chronic illness, and she died soon after.

But when she became a ghost, she could go anywhere, and no one could control her, so she came here. But he couldn't see her. She was angry and resentful, so she took her anger out on the servants. Finally, he learned of her existence…

After she stopped talking, Feng Qingge understood what was going on. It seems that obsession can ultimately be harmful.

Her long hair hung down slightly, swaying gently as she shook her head helplessly. Her dark red robe fluttered in the wind, and for a moment, she lost some of her wickedness and appeared quite dignified.

After An Gu Nian finished speaking, her obsession lessened considerably, and the soul that was originally within the Bagua diagram became much fainter, almost transparent.

Slowly, she began to dissipate, turning into dust little by little.

As An Gu Nian disappeared, the Bagua diagram also vanished.
