Chapter 21 Get the Reward

For a moment, the old steward and Hei Ming were both amazed. They had not only seen ghosts today, but also witnessed the extraordinary skills of Young Master Feng. They were extremely curious.

"Alright, Your Highness, the ghost is gone now. Can you give me my reward?" Feng Qingge turned around, looking like a money-grubber, and stretched out her fair hand, asking him for money as if it were her right.

Mo Linyuan lowered his eyes and looked at the person in front of him. She had a jade-like face, wore red clothes, and had delicate phoenix eyes. She looked at him with a smile.

"Butler, bring the reward to the Third Young Master." The voice was deep and pleasant, yet carried a coldness and a unique sense of aloofness.

"Yes, Your Highness." The old steward bowed, took a step back, and then turned and walked out.

Feng Qingge nodded in satisfaction, withdrew her small hands, and placed them behind her back, feeling relaxed and at ease.

"Third Young Master, why don't you teach her a lesson?" Hei Ming suddenly spoke, with a hint of barely perceptible dissatisfaction. Two people from their royal palace had died, while the female ghost had left unharmed.

"You think she'll be fine if I don't teach her a lesson? Humph." Compared to Hei Ming's dissatisfaction, Feng Qingge was even more dissatisfied. Like master, like subordinate; she never suffers a loss.

"Oh? From what you're saying, there's more to it?" Mo Linyuan had maintained a calm and indifferent expression throughout, but he only became slightly interested after hearing her say this.

“Since she is a ghost, there is a place that governs ghosts. Once she goes there, someone will deal with her.” Feng Qingge snorted, not wanting to talk to this master and servant.

The ghost realm, also known as the underworld or the netherworld, is a place with laws, just like the human world. The female ghost committed a crime by killing someone in the mortal world, so she naturally had to go to the ghost realm to serve her sentence before she could be reincarnated.

However, that was beyond her control. She had already taken care of the matter at hand and was just waiting to collect her payment before they would never see each other again.

Feng Qingge's plan was good, but fate did not want the two of them to end up like this.

As the saying goes, it takes five hundred glances and brushes in a past life to earn a single meeting in this one. These two must have glanced at each other so many times in their past lives that their shoulders were practically scraped, which is why they're entangled in this one.

Of course, that's a story for another time.

A short while later, the old butler came over carrying a small wooden box. Judging from his somewhat unsteady gait, Feng Qingge estimated that the reward was quite substantial.

"Third Young Master." Upon approaching, the old steward handed the small wooden box to Qi Quan, letting him carry it. This marked the completion of the transaction.

Feng Qingge was very satisfied. In a good mood, she no longer cared about teasing Mo Linyuan and bid him farewell, saying, "Since Your Highness's residence is clean, there is no need for me to do anything. Farewell." With that, she led Qi Quan towards the gate.

Watching the figures of the master and servant gradually disappear into the distance, the old butler looked troubled. "This?"

"See the Third Young Master out of the manor." Mo Linyuan turned around, his black hair and dark clothes blending seamlessly into the night.

The old butler was taken aback, then quickly nodded, took a few steps back, and turned to chase after Feng Qingge.

On this side, Feng Qingge and Qi Quan strolled out, and just as they were about to reach the gate of the mansion, the old steward caught up with them, "Third Young Master, Third Young Master, wait for this old servant!"

Feng Qingge stopped, turned around and looked at the slightly panting old butler, speechless. "Butler, is there anything else?"

"Third Young Master, please keep quiet about what happened these past two days." Because if this ghost story were to be leaked, it could really cause unnecessary panic.

"Don't worry, steward. This young master is tight-lipped about everything except his mouth." Feng Qingge looked indifferent. She was much better at keeping these things confidential than the people in their mansion. Moreover, she had been dealing with ghosts and monsters since she was a child, so she naturally knew what was important.
