Chapter 11

Chapter 11

The distance from the cafeteria to the teaching building was not far, and everyone prepared to return to their offices after finishing their meal.

Back in her office, Jiang Wanwan placed the books she had confiscated from Pu Yuan on the table, then leaned back in her chair with her hands resting on the armrests, hanging slightly down, as if deep in thought.

Pu Yuan did find a good book, written by a famous author, but she should never have read it in class.

Faced with Pu Yuan's repeated failure to correct her ways, Jiang Wanwan felt a sense of helplessness.

She pressed her temples, feeling a bit of a headache about it.

She couldn't come up with a good solution until school ended in the afternoon.

Today is Friday, and students are leaving school one after another to go home for the weekend.

After a week of work, the teachers can finally relax. Sometimes, they even want a holiday more than the students.

"Wanwan, shall we go together?"

After packing their things, Lu Dachuan and Ren He stood at the door waiting for Jiang Wanwan.

Jiang Wanwan had actually finished packing, but she had plans for the evening. "I won't go home first. I'm going to the mall with Shengnan tonight."

Tie Shengnan had already made plans with her to go shopping after school today, saying that she had finally managed to form an art group and wanted to go on a shopping spree to release the pressure she had been accumulating.

Lu Dachuan shrugged after hearing this, "Okay, you guys go ahead." He disliked shopping with women the most. His mother used to always drag him shopping, which was incredibly boring.

“My game console arrived today, Renhe, let’s go back and play games!” Lu Dachuan put his arm around Renhe’s shoulder and waved his other hand away from Jiang Wanwan to say goodbye.

Ren He reminded Jiang Wanwan to be careful, and then left with Lu Dachuan.

Jiang Wanwan curled the corners of her lips, watered the plants in the office, estimated that it was time for the appointment, locked the door, and left the office.

The shopping mall was bustling on Friday evening, with many working people who had finally made it to their holiday and were there to relax.

On a summer night, chatting and having a few drinks with a couple of close friends is simply the perfect way for busy office workers to relieve stress.

"Wanwan, let's go take a look here." Tie Shengnan was carrying several bags, all of which were the purchases from her recent shopping spree, and she still looked full of fighting spirit.

Jiang Wanwan has excellent taste, so Tie Shengnan always seeks her advice when buying clothes.

"Wanwan, this outfit suits you so well! You should try it on too."

Tie Shengnan held up a floral dress in front of Jiang Wanwan, her eyes revealing admiration.

Although Jiang Wanwan has a great sense of style, she usually wears business attire, which Tie Shengnan finds a bit too formal.

In fact, Jiang Wanwan has a lot of casual clothes at home, but because of work, she wears business attire more often in order to look more professional.

Perhaps influenced by the atmosphere of the mall, she also developed a liking for the floral dress in Tie Shengnan's hand.

"OK."

She smiled as she took the dress and went into the fitting room.

After a while, the curtain of the fitting room was slowly pulled open.

The dress was cut to fit perfectly, outlining the curves of Jiang Wanwan's figure. It was as if she had been blessed by God, with every inch of her figure being just right. Her dark hair cascaded down to her waist, making her skin look as white as snow.

Tie Shengnan, being a woman, was completely mesmerized, let alone the other male customers in the store.

Wow! Wanwan, you've been hiding your true abilities!

Tie Shengnan stared intently at Jiang Wanwan, her eyes filled with amazement and envy, her mouth agape as if she could fit an egg in it.

Hearing Tie Shengnan's frank praise, Jiang Wanwan smiled a little shyly, but she was secretly delighted.

Finally, the two of them happily carried their newly bought clothes and walked out of the store.

Immediately afterwards, Tie Shengnan took Jiang Wanwan to a home furnishing store.

This home furnishing store is luxuriously decorated, with even the floors made of imported marble, and the products inside are quite expensive.

Upon seeing the two, the sales assistant at the entrance immediately greeted them with a smile.

Tie Shengnan ordered a pillow here a week ago and came to pick it up today.

After she explained her purpose, the sales assistant immediately understood, took out two exquisite gift boxes, opened them, and placed them in front of the two of them.

"Miss Tie, this is your custom-made cushion. Please check it."

The cushions are soft and beautiful; one features a dark mountain stream, while the other has an adorable kitten on it.

"Yes, these are the two. Please wrap them up for me, and pack them separately." Tie Shengnan nodded in satisfaction and said to the sales assistant.

"Okay, please wait a moment."

The sales assistant packed up the two cushions and handed them to Tie Shengnan, but Tie Shengnan did not take them immediately.

She pointed to Jiang Wanwan sitting on the sofa and said to the sales assistant, "Give her the one with the kitten."

Jiang Wanwan was looking around when she saw the bag that suddenly appeared in front of her. She asked in surprise, "For me?"

"Yes, this young lady told you."

Jiang Wanwan looked at Tie Shengnan, who was registering at the counter, in disbelief. After Tie Shengnan finished signing, he met Jiang Wanwan's gaze.

"What's wrong? Do you like my dark style?" Tie Shengnan lifted the bag in her hand and pouted.

Her conflicted expression suggested she was pondering whether to exchange pillows with Jiang Wanwan if she liked them, since the pillow's design was her own.

"No...no, this gift is too valuable, I can't accept it."

While she was browsing around, she noticed that even the cheapest spoon here cost a thousand yuan, so this cushion must be even more expensive.

Jiang Wanwan realized that the other party had misunderstood, so she quickly waved her hand. She also only just realized that she was holding a kitten pillow.

Upon hearing this, Tie Shengnan's hesitation vanished immediately. She smiled and said naturally, "Why are we being so polite? If it really doesn't work, consider it my way of thanking you for helping me move earlier."

When Tie Shengnan first moved into the rented house, Jiang Wanwan helped her a lot.

Although there was a moving company, Tie Shengnan's huge oil paintings were too large for the movers to handle, so she and Jiang Wanwan carried them in one by one by themselves.

Jiang Wanwan helped Tie Shengnan move voluntarily, without asking for anything in return. When she tried to refuse, she heard Tie Shengnan pout and say, "Do you also think I'm wasting my money?"

Although Tie Shengnan's family is wealthy, her parents started from scratch and live a very frugal life, always teaching their daughter not to spend money extravagantly.

Money is something you can't take with you when you're born or when you die. Are you going to pay taxes to the King of Hell after you die? You might as well enjoy life while you're alive.

For Tie Shengnan, who grew up in a wealthy environment, pursuing a high-quality life has become a habit.

However, she has never asked her family for a penny since she went to university. The reasons are somewhat complicated, but simply put, she did not listen to her parents' choice of finance as her major, but instead studied art, which she was interested in.

Although their living standards have declined, they are still able to maintain their current lifestyle.

The fact that she dared to buy this cushion means she can still afford it.

Jiang Wanwan knew that Tie Shengnan's family was well-off, but she had never seen the kind of extravagant spending that many rich kids did. Moreover, the things she bought were indeed the best quality for that price range.

"Of course not, I was just worried you'd spend too much money," Jiang Wanwan said frankly.

In fact, Tie Shengnan had guessed that this was the reason. She had always trusted Jiang Wanwan's character and she was not the kind of person who would be hypocritical.

"How about you treat me to a big meal later? I'm starving!"

Tie Shengnan shook Jiang Wanwan's arm, pretending to be pitiful.

Seeing the other person's feigned comical expression, Jiang Wanwan chuckled. "Alright, order whatever you like!" There was no point in arguing about this anymore; it would only make the two of them seem distant.

That's how human relationships work; sometimes you can't be too calculating. Only through give and take can a relationship last.

"Yay! Wanwan is the best, I want to eat Western food."

"no problem!"

After shopping for a while, the two of them were a bit tired, so they decided to go to the nearest Western restaurant.

As soon as I got near the elevator, I saw a familiar figure walking towards me.

The person opposite them had obviously seen them too. They paused for a moment, then quickly recovered and gave a warm smile.

"Teacher Jiang, Teacher Tie, what a coincidence! You're shopping too!"

The woman speaking was Bai Yan, who taught Jiang Wan's evening English class. At this moment, she was accompanied by a woman of similar age.

However, compared to Bai Yan, who was dressed in bright clothes, the person next to her looked rather drab.

Jiang Wanwan and Tie Shengnan greeted Bai Yan separately. After hearing the surnames of the two young teachers, the middle-aged woman next to Bai Yan carefully looked at Jiang Wanwan across from her.

Bai Yan then looked down at the shopping bags in Tie and Jiang's hands and asked curiously, "You two spent a lot of money today, didn't you? What did you buy?"

Tie Shengnan and Jiang Wanwan are both people who appreciate good taste, so the bags they were carrying today made them look like two wealthy women out on the street.

"It's nothing much, just some clothes, cushions and stuff like that," Tie Shengnan said casually.

Upon hearing this, a flash of jealousy crossed Bai Yan's eyes, but it was quickly masked by a smile.

"You unmarried young people are really willing to spend money."

Bai Yan suddenly blurted out this sentence, and although she said it with a smile, it made the two people opposite her feel a little uncomfortable, but they couldn't quite put their finger on why it was strange.

Jiang Wanwan licked her lips, preparing to exchange a few pleasantries before saying goodbye to Bai Yan, since their relationship was not particularly close.

Unexpectedly, the middle-aged woman next to Bai Yan suddenly became excited. She had just compared the phone with Jiang Wanwan and realized that this was her son's homeroom teacher!

"Teacher Jiang! I am Huo Shuqi's mother. I just recognized you. Teacher Bai is here today too, let's have a meal together."
