Chapter 156 Luring the Enemy

The day Rong Mian was following Rong Xi, he lost track of him because someone blocked his way. After returning to the manor, he threw a huge tantrum, but apart from himself and a few guards, no one knew why.

Not only did he lose track of Rong Xi that day, but he also lost two of his bodyguards, so how could he not be angry?

He had assumed that among the royal family, only Rong Qi's cultivation surpassed his own, but he hadn't expected the Crown Prince's cultivation to be so unfathomable. That day, he had barely managed to keep up with Rong Xi, and it was because of that incident that he lost him.

And before Rong Xi left, he actually called out "Third Brother." Did Rong Xi realize that I was following him, or was it just a casual remark? If he knew it was me, why didn't he expose me after following me for so long?

Rong Mian was unconvinced and sent a message to the informant in the Crown Prince's residence, instructing him to continue observing the Crown Prince's whereabouts and to report back immediately if there was any news. He was determined not to lose track of him a second time.

Two days later, news indeed came that the Crown Prince was going to leave the palace again.

Rong Mian was extremely excited; let's see where he runs this time.

But he didn't know that the Crown Prince's trip was to find the traitor within the Crown Prince's residence.

The Crown Prince went back and thought about it for two days. He also asked his personal guard, Rong Ruo, to investigate everyone in the mansion. They were all doing their duties dutifully and had no dirty tricks, unless they used some special methods of communication.

After thinking for a moment, Rong Xi told Rong Ruo about his solution. He would go out again and have all the guards keep a close watch on every courtyard to see who in the manor was making any suspicious moves after the news broke. Those making suspicious moves, and anyone who could contact people outside the manor, would be thoroughly investigated.

Sure enough, as soon as the news came out, several servants couldn't hold back any longer. Some were responsible for receiving vegetables and fruits every day, some for cleaning up the garbage, and there was even a servant who was responsible for going outside the palace to get news every day.

Rong Xi realized the seriousness of the matter. If it was this servant who was responsible for getting information from outside the palace, then his master would know everything about him.

Rong Xi instructed Rong Ruo: "Keep a close eye on these people, no matter how small the matter, even make me remember how many times they go to the toilet."

"Yes. Then, my lord, are you still going out of the palace today?"

Rong Xi smiled and said, "Of course, and we'll go out openly and honestly."

Rong Ruo looked at His Highness with a puzzled expression.

Rong Xi tapped his head: "Silly, if I don't go out, how will that person follow me, how will I find out who is following me? Also, today I'll have An Yi impersonate me. You and An Yi go to that place, and I'll go in another direction."

"But what about His Highness's safety?"

Rong Xi gazed into the distance and slowly spoke, "I'll give that person a chance if he manages to track me down. Don't worry, besides you and An Yi, don't I have other bodyguards?"

What Rong Xi didn't say was that his own mother's Phoenix Feather Guards were also in his hands, and he wouldn't summon them unless absolutely necessary.

That evening, several groups of figures emerged from the Crown Prince's palace, heading in different directions. This troubled the various factions guarding outside the palace, unsure which one was the real Crown Prince. It would be foolish of them to believe that the figure most resembling the Crown Prince was him.

In the end, they had no choice but to split up and follow the suspects, while those with fewer people could only leave it to fate.

As soon as Rong Xi left the palace, he sensed that someone was following him. Rong Xi was not in a hurry and leisurely led the people behind him around.

After circling around for most of the day, Rong Xi suddenly stopped, turned around and looked behind him: "Come out, you've been following me for ages, let me see where you are!"

The person following them remained silent.

Rong Xi raised an eyebrow: "Then I'll get started."

After Rong Xi finished speaking, he raised his hand and waved it.

The person who was following him clearly felt himself frozen in place, and then he was brought before the prince.

Rong Xi ordered, "Search them. Do you see anything on them?"

The guards searched the men but found nothing.

"Check their chests or arms for any marks or anything like that."

If it's not someone from a family, then it must be someone from some organization.

The guards examined it but still shook their heads.

Rong Xi clapped his hands and exclaimed, "Not bad, not bad! These days, even the secret guards or assassins think this far ahead, yet they couldn't find anything. Then take them back; I need to know the truth."

The guard nodded: "Yes."

Several guards brought all the people who had been following them back. Rong Xi also strolled back leisurely, wondering what the other groups had accomplished.
