Southwest Entertainment, being a major player in the entertainment industry, occupies three contiguous skyscrapers. The tallest of which has over thirty floors. The office spans over a hundred square meters. Apart from standard office facilities and a large floor-to-ceiling window, the walls are lined with bookshelves and glass cabinets for files. The entire office, decorated in black and white, exudes an ambiance of austerity.
The woman sitting in the boss’s chair has been holding her phone for ages, still waiting for the message she wants.
After leaving to market overseas for three or four years, she has not seen Lu Nanchen since she graduated from high school. Now that they’re both of the age to marry, she wonders how he’s doing.

A soft knock on the office door interrupts her thoughts. Putting her phone on the desk, Shen Ruchu commands ’Enter’. Her male assistant comes in, his hands full of blue file folders, which he places on her desk.
"Ms. Shen, these are some project details and financial statements from the years while you were away. We’re still compiling the rest and will bring them later." The assistant stands straight before her desk, leaning forward by 45 degrees, his hands crossed in front of him.
While reviewing the documents, Shen Ruchu sits upright and meticulously pores through them.
"Alright, have them prepare the rest as soon as possible."
"Yes." 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
As she spoke, Shen Ruchu picked up a file and started flipping through it, asking casually, "How is the preparation for Director Li’s movie going?"
"Ms. Shen, our talent Yu Zijun left on schedule this morning."
"Great."
"Our company also recently signed on a group of new trainees. We’ll soon place them in reality shows or web dramas for their debut."
This seemed to remind him of something else and he reported it to her.

After instructing the assistant, he respectfully left the office and the door clicked shut behind him.
Once he had left, Shen Ruchu picked up her phone again. She pressed the power button, but there was still no reply. In her mind, she imagined him to be the same as before.
She leans back in her chair, turning to face the glass window.
The midday sun was dazzling, outside the sky was clear and the clouds distinct.
It was beautiful weather, she hoped it would bring some unexpected gains.

"Insiders revealed that Shen Ruchu, CEO of leading entertainment company, Southwest Entertainment, returned to the country last night. She had been overseas for several years developing markets. Her return may bring about a breakthrough that will elevate her company’s performance."
During homeroom, Song Zhan silently watched the entertainment news on his phone, sitting beside Yu Ting.
The news was accompanied by some blurry paparazzi shots from the night before. The images were so blurry that the figures were barely discernable.
