Diverting his gaze from Yu Ting, Lu Nanchen’s expression turned a bit more serious.

Caught in an eerie standoff between the two, Yu Ting broke the tension with a sigh.

With that, Yu Ting casually took two boxes of health products from the nearby shelf and walked towards the cashier.
Finally finding a solution, Lu Nanchen raised no objections and followed her in stride.
Once the two of them had purchased the health products they returned to the car, and continued towards Yu Ting’s parents’ house.
By the time they arrived, it was already past twelve.
When they got out of the car, Yu Ting walked in front, with Lu Nanchen holding two boxes trailing behind her.
When they reached the eighth floor, the two came to the designated apartment, and Yu Ting knocked on the door in a decent manner.
There was a quick response from inside.
Just as Yu Ting was knocking, the door was opened by her mother. A gust of fragrant food aroma came out, and the elegant woman inside briefly glanced at Yu Ting and found her much more pleasing than before. She then began to focus her attention on Lu Nanchen, a smile blooming on her face instantly.
"Nanchen, you’re here. I’ve got the food ready and even made your favorite egg custard."
"We got delayed because we were buying something on the road. Mom, Dad, these are for you."
"Oh, look at you. You didn’t need to buy us anything."
Saying that, Yu Ting’s mother started grinning.
"Splendid, such good fortune for our daughter to be with you. I wonder which lifetime she accumulated this luck from."
Yu Ting tactfully moved aside to give them some space to chat after entering.
Once inside, she saw Yu’s father sitting on the main seat.
The two locked eyes momentarily, and Yu Ting, as if ignorant of all the stupid things the original owner had done, smiled at her father, "Dad."
"Mm."
Then she saw her father scrutinize her from head to toe.
"Indeed, marrying the right person really does make a difference. Where’s Nanchen? Let me see him."
Yu Ting: ...
"Dad."
"Ah, Nanchen, come over here, let me get a good look at you."
"I haven’t seen you for a few days."
Yu’s father’s tone suddenly became lively, repeatedly beckoning Nanchen over, his face all smiles.
Yu Ting tactfully found a place to sit down quietly.
The older couple quickly started examining Lu Nanchen up and down, from left to right.
The more they looked, the more satisfied and relieved they felt.
"Nanchen, what have you been up to recently?"
Once the family of four were seated, Yu’s father asked with a beaming smile.
"I’ve been busy with a work handover, and a multi-person project on applied mathematical statistics." Lu Nanchen replied while seated.
"That’s really great, really great. How’s your grandfather’s health?"
"My grandfather is in good health. I visited him not too long ago."

Three people chatted while one person quietly ate.
