"How could that be? It’s our first time meeting my father-in-law and mother-in-law." The rebuttal came quickly, Yu Ting insisted there should be a sense of ceremony.
Parents-in-law shouldn’t be neglected in any way.
"Anything bought by you will be good enough." Lu Nanchen continued.

That evening, Yu Ting stressed to Lu Nanchen over and over again that she planned to attend an auction the next day to look for good gifts for his parents.
Someone initially just gave a peck, but for some reason, it happened again.
The next morning, having to get up due to an engagement, Yu Ting woke up by her internal alarm to find all was quiet: ...
She lifted her foot... and swiftly kicked the sleeping Lu Nanchen off the bed beside her.
Thump.
"Hiss."
Lu Nanchen, realizing what happened a bit too late, found himself lying on the floor, propping himself up with his hands while his shirtless upper body was exposed.

After the two of them had finished freshening up, the auction was scheduled for six o’clock in the evening. The couple stayed at home until four in the afternoon. Yu Ting was on the couch watching TV dramas whereas Lu Nanchen was working on a school project.
Choosing a random SUV from the garage, they followed the GPS to the auction location. Every vehicle in their possession was nothing short of expensive.
They’d heard the auction would feature a range of traditional Chinese paintings, rare antiques, and new works from various designers. The selling points were compelling and attracted many wealthy individuals, in addition to those personally invited.
Among the elite invited were philanthropists, billionaires, and well-known figures in the industry.
Yu Ting was the first person who was invited simply because of her extravagant spending.
Upon arriving, the grandiosity of the auction was more evident. The large outdoor parking lot was filled with expensive luxury vehicles, some of them being top-of-the-line models.
Most of the men and women coming and going exuded an air of aristocratic refinement.
In comparison, Yu Ting’s attire was more flamboyant. She was stunning and oozed a strong aura.
Accompanied by the equally handsome Lu Nanchen, their arrival attracted considerable attention.
Hand in hand, Yu Ting and Lu Nanchen walked inside.
The security guard at the auction entrance took one look at them and immediately recognized them.
The CEO of VG Entertainment, Yu, often dubbed the ’walking cash machine’, a VIP who was to be tended with extra care.
"I assume you must be Director Yu. Please, come inside."
Unlike others who needed to show their invitations, Yu Ting was enthusiastically welcomed by security as soon as she arrived, his hand gesturing her to enter.
"Mm-hmm."
Faced with polite hospitality, Yu Ting also responded politely.
Walking side by side with Lu Nanchen, the entrance was clear for them.
News of their arrival quickly reached the auction hall. A manager hurried over to Yu Ting, his face wearing an extremely professional smile. "Director Yu, please this way."
"I presume that this must be your husband. He truly carries himself with grace, quite the perfect match."
"Thank you."
"I’ll give you a brief tour of the auction house first. We started preparing for the auction half a year in advance, and there are lots of wonderful items."
There was still over an hour to go before the auction officially started. The manager accompanied them to take a look around.
Lu Nanchen showed little interest in these lavish yet somewhat unsubstantial items, his attention more focused on Yu Ting beside him.
The auction was indeed filled with amazing items and it took over half an hour to tour the entire place.
After the manager said "Director Yu, feel free to reach out to me if you need anything," he left, leaving the couple to browse freely.
Yu Ting and Lu Nanchen then strolled up to the second floor, where there was a large balcony facing the parking lot, framed by a white European-style railing.
A little tired from the tour, Yu Ting rested against the railings, occasionally glancing at the line of luxury cars arriving one after another. Among them, she saw Shen Ruchu getting out of a Rolls Royce.
Shen Ruchu was dressed and made up a bit more than usual, her face coated with conspicuous makeup to cover the handprint mark.
Keeping a straight face, she probably was still in a sulk.
Yu Ting leaned back against the railing with her hands gripping it. She observed Shen Ruchu for a bit longer, an evil grin creeping onto her face.
Tonight was going to be entertaining.
