"Your daughter-in-law is something else; she runs an entertainment company, swimming in money." Ge Lin immediately said, her face showing a rare kind of wonder at Yu Ting.
In this world, where people are numerous, there are always those who wish to take shortcuts by hanging onto powerful figures.
And Ge Lin was certainly one of them.
In her eyes, this was a skill in and of itself.
"Um, about that, I’m not sure." The conversation taking a distasteful turn, Mother Lu’s expression changed, giving an honest answer.
"How could you not know? Seriously." Ge Lin cast a disdainful gaze at her, "Speaking of which, isn’t your nephew in his senior year at the film academy? He’s about to graduate and step into the world, you must let Yu Ting help him."
"He is your blood relative, not an outsider."
Ge Lin added, displaying enthusiasm that she hadn’t shown in years.
"Well."
At this point, anyone could tell what Ge Lin meant. Mother Lu’s smile cooled, "Let’s see how Yu Ting feels about it, it’s her call."
Her words had barely floated into the air before Ge Lin retorted.
"How can we leave it to her? You’re her mother-in-law, isn’t helping Qin Tao as easy as a single word from you?"
"Why don’t you talk to her yourself?"
Having said that, Ge Lin watched her own frail sister’s face, her expression full of resistance, her eyebrows furrowing even deeper.
She’d been like this since childhood.
Destined to never do anything great.
"What’s the big deal?"
"Worst case, you just have Yu Ting come over to my place on the third day of the lunar new year, and I’ll talk to her myself."
After listening to Ge Lin’s words, the implication was incredibly obvious.
Mother Lu, finally understanding, had an awful expression on her face.

The angrier Ge Lin grew as the conversation dragged on, so did her twisted expressions.
While one was more like their father and the other like their mother, their personalities were naturally different.
Failing her scheme, Ge Lin had no intention of staying in this rundown place any longer. She threw away a huff and left.
The room settled into silence, Lu’s mother’s face pale for a while.
She sat there for a while and then heaved a deep sigh.

After Ge Lin left, she went straight to her son, intending to leave with him.
She’ll think of another plan.
However, when she saw her son, she was dumbfounded, his posture while walking was off.
If she didn’t know, she would have thought he had just been beaten up by someone.
"What happened to you? Are you feeling unwell somewhere?" Ge Lin asked in a worried tone, rushing over to support him.
Having been beaten by his cousin, "I’m fine," Qin Tao quickly replied.
"You sure don’t look fine, when we get home, I’ll call a doctor to check you over."
Ge Lin nagged.
"Speaking of which, did you meet Yu Ting? What did she think of you?" 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
In saying so, Qin Tao had to recall Yu Ting’s attitude and movements from earlier.
Her fist looked like it was about to land on him any second.
Umm...
"She seemed to think all right of me."
"That’s good. The first impression is crucial for a young lady. That gives you more opportunities in the future," Ge Lin said sincerely.
Besides marrying better than her sister, she was inferior to her in every other way.
She had lived under her shadow for many years and couldn’t bear the thought of her son being overshadowed by Lu Nanchen now.
So, Qin Tao has been living a better life than Nanchen since he was little.
"This opportunity must not be missed. Once you deal with Yu Ting, everything will be easier."
