At the same time.
Elsewhere.
Wei Qinghe, all dressed and ready to go, packed two bags. After doing a little skincare and light make-up, he and his assistant set off on the plane to the film crew’s location.
Excitement bubbled within him as he sat on the plane, silently cheering himself on.
This time he had to make a good impression.
The location was a little remote. It took Wei Qinghe and his assistant about four to five hours to get there. The closer they got to the equator, the more noticeable the difference in climate. Wei Qinghe, who was wearing a winter coat, started feeling too hot after only a few steps and gave his coat to his assistant to carry. He wore a hat, sunglasses, a mask, and thin jeans with a long-sleeved shirt, which made him feel much fresher.
A car sent by the film crew was waiting outside the airport. Wei Qinghe and his assistant walked for a few minutes before finding it and getting in.
They set off for the film crew’s location.
After about ten minutes of driving, Wei Qinghe and his assistant arrived at their destination.
In a private room at a five-star hotel.
Leaving his baggage with his assistant to take up to the room, Wei Qinghe was escorted by a staff member of the film crew to a hotel room where the directors and six other artists, who like him were guests, were gathered.
Four men and two women.
No strangers here, they were all recognizable faces from television and frequently appeared in major films and TV shows as main and supporting characters, all of them established third-tier stars or above.
Except for Tang Youmin, of course.
During the casting phase of the reality show, Southwest Entertainment was the first company they approached hoping to get one of their artists to participate and boost the show’s popularity by having Southwest Entertainment’s name attached.
Southwest Entertainment could not turn down the invitation, but they did not have high expectations for the show and none of their artists were eager to participate, so in the end, they sent Tang Youmin.
The production team was not pleased when they found out. After all, they felt that Southwest Entertainment had not lived up to their expectations by only sending a very minor star like Tang Youmin.
Wei Qinghe, who had recently signed with VG, might not have been a big star yet, but he did have a high-profile supporting role in a movie and a wave of popularity from a recent project.
Tang Youmin was no longer the arrogant man who once looked down on others in front of Wei Qinghe. Now in the company of big stars, his face slightly swollen, he seemed ’weak and helpless,’ his eyes lit up at the sight of Wei Qinghe.
Finally! Someone lower on the star ladder than he was.
Wei Qinghe ignored Tang Youmin’s gaze and expression, maintaining his modest demeanor as he greeted the senior artists and the directors in the room.
The senior artists and directors responded warmly with a few ’hellos.’.
All seven participants were here.
When everyone was present, the director began to speak officially.
"First of all, welcome all the participants of the reality show."
Then he paused and everyone in the director’s team and the artists clapped.
"First, let’s get to know each other, then after dinner, our production crew will explain the detailed rules and things to note."
"For this reality show, we hope everyone can showcase their outdoor survival skills in front of the camera. Initially, the crew will provide some props and daily necessities. How things proceed afterwards depends entirely on you all."
