Chapter 294 - 293: Yu Ting Encounters a Ruse at the Casino_1

If a seasoned casino-goer were here at this moment, they’d realize that this man had once tried the same trick on them.

What Yu Ting didn’t know was that the man surnamed Xu beside her was one of a special group in the casino, similar to a shill. Their job was to lure wealthy individuals or desperate folks eager to make a fortune through gambling, persuading them to try so-called ’fun games’. In reality, these games were notoriously challenging, inundated with extensive rules and regulations that were difficult to comprehend.

They were easier to be tricked.

Yu Ting, who was not interested in chitchat, replied: "I mind."

She had no interest in engaging in conversation with this stranger who approached her uninvited, much less if they were at a casino.

"Miss, you really should give it a try, these games are far more exciting than this guessing dice, and the earnings are abundant. I saw you lost quite a sum earlier. Instead of making losses, why not give those a try?" The man urged, his face filled with an odd grin, "You may make your loss back just in a few rounds."

"No."

Yu Ting declined again. It didn’t matter that she had lost once, she carried on with her betting.

The man beside her still persisted, but Yu Ting chose to ignore him, figuratively letting his words go in one ear and out the other.

Speak all you want, I’m not listening.

"Ah, stop it already! It’s just a game of dice for her," a new man with a more muscular build interrupted, stopping the incessant Xu. His expression was difficult to describe.

He seemed to be looking down on him.

"She’s just a young girl, and this is all she can play." The man continued.

Upon hearing this, Xu retorted indignantly: "What do you know?"

The commotion among the trio didn’t draw much attention in the rowdy casino; everyone was too engrossed in their games.

Yu Ting glanced at them without interest.

Not worth engaging.

However, her lack of response incited the man to rattle off even more put-downs.

"There are some people who are born with constraints, unable to achieve great things due to their limited horizons. What more can they even do?"

The man seemed quite knowledgeable and began predicting Yu Ting’s future. According to him, spending billions playing dice was a low class action, and he stood on his moral high ground, lecturing her.

"She can only rely on her family fortune, and the whispers of her pillow talk."

"How can you speak of her that way? What she does here in the casino doesn’t represent her! She may spend a lot on this dice game, but she might achieve something big in the future!" Xu instantly retorted.

"What do you know!"

The two continued their back and forth.

Yu Ting: ...

Pausing her bet, Yu Ting just watched them with a cold gaze.

"Making mountains out of molehills. If she’s so apprehensive about such a small matter, how can she possibly achieve something big?"

Yu Ting: No fear at all. I have successfully built a company.

"If she were to run a company, it would surely go bankrupt."

Yu Ting: Thanks for the invite, my company is running smoothly.

"Impossible! You can’t be so sure." Xu refuted.

Yu Ting: ...

The two bickered for a while in Yu Ting’s earshot, driving her to distraction.

To the man, not going elsewhere was a cardinal sin.

Yu Ting was no longer in the mood to listen. Her hands, pale and glossy, handling the chips with her long slender fingers. Her gaze dropped, and then she tossed them on the ’small’ bet area with a slight clink.

"Enough, came to me for your performance?"
