Upon hearing Lu Nanchen’s resolute decision over the phone, Professor Xu tried to persuade him to stay a few more times but eventually gave up, jovially stating that if Lu Nanchen ever wanted to return to Chang Ming University as a teacher after he had finished his tasks, he should contact him immediately.
Lu Nanchen responded with a laugh and a promise.
After hanging up, Lu Nanchen remained standing on the balcony, overlooking Nanshan City enveloped in darkness.
Not only was Yu Ting pondering, but so was he, his thoughts wandering beyond the horizon.
"Nanchen, can you get me that beige dress from my wardrobe? I forgot to grab it."
After what felt like an eternity, a woman’s voice echoed from the bathroom, breaking Lu Nanchen’s train of thought. He was quickly brought back to reality from his limitless reverie and promptly moved towards the room.
"Coming."

After over thirty minutes, Yu Ting finally finished her bath. She sat on the bed, her face a bit flushed after being steamed in the hot air of the bath for so long.
Lu Nanchen cleaned up the room a bit, settled Yu Ting comfortably, and then went into the bathroom with his newly purchased clothes.

The sound of the glass bathroom door closing was swiftly followed by the noise of running water.
Meanwhile, Yu Ting, now clad in a light silk nightgown and draped with a thin quilt, was propping up a laptop on her lap.
She started working.
She first checked the situation on Weibo. The articles regarding her implicit rules were now hard to find on the hot search list. She had to scroll to the sixtieth or seventieth to find one or two, with most of the Weibo trend discussing news about other celebrities, hardly mentioning her.
The PR department did a good job.
Yu Ting thought, comforted, and leisurely scrolled through Weibo, even joining in the gossip contagion. As the night rolled on, she planned to dig into some information on Li Heng.
The water shut off in the bathroom, and Lu Nanchen emerged, neatly dressed, his hair dripping with water, his demeanor aloof when silent.
After resigning, Lu Nanchen was no longer burdened with lesson preparations and course presentations. After quickly drying his hair until it was half-dry and making sure it wasn’t dripping anymore, Lu Nanchen got into bed early, sat next to Yu Ting, and softly asked, "What are you looking at?"
"Weibo. The company has already handled those rumors about me," Yu Ting replied.
The couple discussed this issue for a while, with the conversation quickly turning to ’what to do after Lu Nanchen’s resignation’.
Lu Nanchen expressed that he was fine with anything; as an unemployed person, he would spend his time alternating between the VG Company and home.
Yu Ting said she respected his decision, but thought it wasn’t enough. Without a source of income, Lu Nanchen would face many restrictions in his actions and decisions.
How could that be allowed? They were not in financial difficulty, after all.
After much thought, Yu Ting decided to make Lu Nanchen a shareholder in VG Company. She made a call to her assistant and instructed him to quickly draft a share transfer agreement.
It was a cushy assignment which guaranteed monthly dividends without needing to do anything.

Just as Yu Ting finished all these tasks and Lu Nanchen was about to declare it a day, he saw the woman next to him deep in thought. She rummaged through her purse on the bedside table and handed him a card.
"This is my supplementary card, take it."
"Buy whatever you want, splurge and don’t shortchange yourself."
Lu Nanchen: ...
It reminded him of a line from a romance novel given to him by Zuo Fugui-
"My dear, this is my Affiliated Black Card. Take it and buy whatever you fancy. Feel free to swipe."
