In Yu Ting’s mind, the prior owner’s image of Yu Ziwen was just like this: arrogant, senseless, yet confident. Were it not for their similar appearance to their parents, he would have even doubted whether there was a mix-up at the hospital back then...
Yu Ting: ...?
Yu Ting could clearly feel Hao Ling, standing behind her, freeze the joyful smile on her face upon hearing Yu Ziwen’s words. A bit stunned, she then hurriedly waved her hands to deny it, laughing, "Not at all, not at all. Sir, you’ve misunderstood. Miss Yu did me a tremendous favor by helping me establish a foundation."
"Nonsense, I did not!" Yu Ting retorted, giving him a roll of her eyes.
Yu Ziwen, accustomed to bickering with Yu Ting since childhood, didn’t know how many eyerolls he had received from her. Now, his attention was more on what Hao Ling had said.
Setting up a foundation? How did she do that... Did she give you money to establish a foundation?" Yu Ziwen stopped walking, his tall figure standing in front of the two women, casting a large shadow, making them look even more delicate.
He was asking Hao Ling, but Yu Ziwen was looking at Yu Ting.
Setting up a foundation certainly costs quite a bit. Their parents haven’t won any lotteries lately, so where did Yu Ting get so much money? And did she use that much to set up a foundation?
Yu Ziwen was utterly confused.
Given his little sister’s tendencies, any money she had would have been spent in clothing shops, boutiques, and merchandise stores - how could she suddenly be setting up a foundation?
He thought it was a joke. It was as unlikely as the sun rising from the west.
"Hmm... I made a little bit from my business so I set up a foundation." Yu Ting gave a vague answer.
Yu Ziwen cut to the chase: "Where’d you get the money to start a business?"
"Post-marital assets."
Yu Ting spoke word by word, an expression on her face as if to mock every single person out there.
Yu Ziwen: ...
The three of them stood facing each other in the somewhat cramped hallway for a while. Yu Ziwen looked at Yu Ting’s determined gaze and her face which was much more mature than before, and gently tapped Yu Ting on the head.
She had indeed grown up significantly...
The older brother gently patting his little sister on the head, what an endearing scene.
...
...
...
Then, the hand that Yu Ziwen rested on Yu Ting’s head began to ruffle her hair swiftly without warning.
Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh.
Yu Ting’s smooth long hair was messed up into a tangled mess.
Yu Ting: ..."
Slap.
The nescient Yu Ting smacked Yu Ziwen’s arm, issuing a crisp sound.
"As siblings, we should be fair and transparent. Don’t act out and expect me to go easy on you."
The nonchalant Yu Ziwen, who was slapped, simply shrugged it off. After warning her, he left. His arm swung in the air a few times as it passed them by.
The corridor returned to its original quiet state.
Yu Ting, looking at Yu Ziwen’s retreating figure, raised her hand to smooth down her tousled hair.
"Ah... is Miss Yu’s brother a police officer?"
Hao Ling asked upon seeing the scene.
Yu Ting turned her eyes to look at her.
Before Yu Ting could reply, Hao Ling went on, smilingly adding her own comments. She praised Yu Ziwen, "He must be very upright and have a strong sense of justice, right? He sure looks the part."
Very manly.
She voiced the shining and heroic image of a police officer she had in mind.
Yu Ting raised an eyebrow, looking at her. After a while, she withdrew her gaze, looking in the direction where Yu Ziwen had exited. Connecting with the previous host’s memory, she murmured.
"Ah no."
"It’s because he’s too wild..."
