When Yu Ting heard the voice and turned around, she found Lu Nanchen very close to her, his exceedingly handsome face full of seriousness.
He would never lie to her.
If he said he was envious, then he was truly envious.
While Yu Ting’s eyes were still exploring Lu Nanchen’s face, he had already spoken his third sentence.
"Tingting, I want to have a child."
Well, his words are getting more direct.
Yu Ting thought to herself with a somewhat deflated smile on her face, expressing her opinion: "This is not something to hurry."
Getting married young was one thing, but Yu Ting was only 20 years old now and about to turn 21; she had no plans for early pregnancy.
Lu Nanchen gave her a serious look, then sat back in his chair and placed Yu Ting’s hand on his leg, massaging it with his hands, "I’m already approaching 30."

"Many of my college peers already have children."

"Some of their children have already started preschool."
Strike three.
Lu Nanchen dragged out his tone, then redirected the conversation, "But you’re still young, let’s wait a few more years, until you graduate."
Although research shows that the optimal age for women to have children is between 25 and 29, Lu Nanchen believed nothing was absolute, and being a few years early wouldn’t hurt.
Upon hearing his words, Yu Ting felt some stirrings within her, feeling that Lu Nanchen, to some extent, took into consideration her young age and perhaps cared about her.
"After all, without a child now I’m already failing so many courses, if I actually had a child who knows how many more I’d fail."
Yu Ting: ...
But even though they couldn’t have a child right away, it didn’t stop them from imagining. After some thought, Yu Ting asked, "Do you prefer a boy or a girl?"
Lu Nanchen, with his head lowered intently massaging Yu Ting’s hand, answered: "A girl."
"It would be best if she looked like you."
His gaze fell into the distance as he imagined the future, Lu Nanchen felt happiness bubbling up uncontrollably in his heart at the idea of coming home from work to meet two sets of eyes, big and small.
"What if it’s a boy?"
Lu Nanchen: ...
"Equal treatment." After some serious consideration, Lu Nanchen responded so, quickly adding, "And then we’ll have a second child."

The time went by quickly; Lu Xiaobao completed a 200-meter run, earning first place, then went to have a hearty meal with his parents, brother, and sister-in-law. After changing into a clean pair of pants, he ran a relay race in the afternoon, his team won first place, and finally it was time for the three-legged race.
He was paired with another boy from his class, and they were about the same height.
They had trained together a few times before the competition, and during the race, they were nowhere near flustered, running with the same calm demeanor until the end.
Second place.
During the competition, Yu Ting and Aunt Lu cheered for Lu Xiaobao several times.
At the end of the sports day, each winning child was awarded a bright red certificate along with notebooks and pens.
At the end of the award ceremony, Lu Xiaobao had accumulated eight certificates in his hand. There were ’Honor Participation Awards’ for everyone who participated, ’Outstanding Individual Awards’ for his two first places and one second place, a ’Best Friendship Award’ for the three-legged race, and a ’Best Group Award’ for the relay race.
There were even ’Studious Awards’ for those who did not participate in the sports day.
Yu Ting’s conclusion after the event was: Everyone gets a certificate.
Then the whole family took a ride home. Lu Nanchen dropped off his uncle’s family first and then drove Yu Ting home.
