Chapter 41 - 40: Seven days a week, do you switch between wearing three sets of white shirts and black pants_1

Meanwhile.

At the agreed time of half past three, a young man showed up, his hands empty. He looked young, sporting a closely cropped crew cut that revealed the strong lines of his face, resembling the tough-guy archetype. His jawline was pronounced and his eyes, though not big, exuded rogue-like charm. He resembled Ning Xuan in many ways, standing at a height of 185cm, his features indicating he was not someone to be trifled with.

He was dressed in expensive clothes from head to toe. His white sweatshirt highlighted his muscular physique, something was tied around his waist, and he wore black capris. Due to his nearsightedness, his eyes held a somewhat hazy and lonely look.

He arrived at a nondescript alleyway by the street. The alley was long and deep, growing darker the further inside one went, with its contents shrouded in obscurity.

In the alley stood a slender teenager covered with bruises. His face bore several scars, some big, some small, and his clothes hung loose on his figure. A tattoo of a green dragon adorned his arm.

Possibly due to the combination of his thin frame and short stature, when he stood, he seemed to be about half the size of Song Zhan.

Seeing the newcomer, Song Zhan let out a lazy yawn, hand tucked in his pocket, "You didn’t apologize when I beat you up this morning; it’s about time you start. I’ve got to get back, sleep, and eat dinner."

Unexpectedly, the young man spat on the ground, his tone unyielding, "Apologize my ass! Who do you think you are? You’re the first to dare lay a hand on an upperclassman. You’re just lawless!"

The young man’s insolence seemed to clear Song Zhan’s drowsiness away. His eyes narrowed as he glared at the newcomer, making him look more menacing.

"I just tricked you into coming out here. There’s no way I’m apologizing; it’s about time you find out the consequences of beating an upperclassman!"

Following his words, fifteen more men emerged from the darkness of the alley. Displaying unfamiliar faces, some students from Chang Ming University, some individuals who had graduated from high school years ago, each standing taller than 180cm, their formations was strikingly intimidating.

With sixteen against one, Song Zhan’s sleepiness dissipated entirely.

He slightly leaned his upper body forward, his eyebrows knitting into a cold frown at the sight before him.

...

On the other end of the phone, Lu Nanchen seemed dumbfounded after hearing Yu Ting’s words. His free hand, holding a pen, hovered over the A4 paper he was writing his thesis on.

He felt that his wife had changed significantly from before.

He could never guess what kinds of strange ideas would pop up in her head at the next moment.

Compared to Lu Nanchen’s confusion, Yu Ting’s thoughts were much more straightforward and simpler.

Since the last time, after finding out she had been spending money recklessly, he’d told Lin Yan that both salaries and bonuses were shared property during a marriage.

She might as well indulge him with a little spending, regardless of whether she spent it alone or in his company.

Splurging a bit on a handsome man wasn’t a big deal.

Seeing as he hadn’t made a sound for quite some time on the other end of the call, Yu Ting waited a moment before asking again, "With the leftover money from buying the car, I was thinking I could buy you a few outfits. The seasons are about to change, aren’t they?"

"...No need, I have enough clothes to wear," stated Lu Nanchen in his usual indifferent tone, rejecting the offer.

He’d never spent a woman’s money in his life.

It felt odd.

Lu Nanchen’s refusal was somewhat expected as buying clothes was something that he was unfamiliar with.

"If I really have too much money and can’t spend it all, it becomes an issue. Should I buy another diamond-studded teacup instead?"

Enough to wear?

Was he planning on spending seven days a week alternating between three identical sets of white shirts and black pants?
