It seemed that VG Entertainment had done this deliberately to bring all the online reports about Yu Ting’s husband to a standstill. You couldn’t even find any related information in the top 200 trending topics. She had only ever come across a random tweet about his stunning good looks. The praises were heaped so highly, you’d think they had gone through the entire dictionary to find the words to describe him.
She hadn’t believed it at first, but now she saw it with her own eyes.
She believed it.
She felt the tears trickle down from the corners of her mouth.
"Hello, I’m Yu Ting, and I’ve been invited to participate in ’We Got Married 2’ variety show," Yu Ting beamed and positioned herself in front of Lu Nanchen, obstructing the view of the female staff looking at him.
Only then did the female employee realise her rudeness, quickly composed herself, and courteously attended to Yu Ting, guiding them towards the company building.
The company responsible for the show had a good reputation inland, and being in its second season, it had already accumulated a solid viewer base from the first, guaranteeing the effectiveness of the show.
As Yu Ting was contemplating this, she suddenly realised she had arrived at their destination, a rather large room. Inside, besides several people from the production crew, were also two couples. She vaguely recognised some of them, most were likely insiders from the circle.
"Welcome, Miss Yu," the director started, expressing his welcome, then turned his attention to Lu Nanchen, "Mr Yu indeed carries an ethereal grace, not bad at all. Mind sharing what he does for a living?"
The director was merely curious and meant nothing else by it.
With that question, all eyes in the room focused on Lu Nanchen.
Yu Ting replied with a faint smile, "He’s a self-employed businessman. I’d rather not get into the details."
Stating outright that Lu Nanchen had quit his job and stayed home with her seemed inappropriate, and God knows what twisted version the paparazzi might come up with.
Upon hearing her response, Lu Nanchen softly echoed her words.
"What a lovely pair," the director remarked with a smile.
After exchanging greetings with everyone, Yu Ting and Lu Nanchen then took their seats.
Yu Ting paid more attention to the other two couples. She figured she would be dealing more with them in the next three days of filming than anyone else, apart from Lu Nanchen, and wanted to get to know them better.
The first couple comprised a man named Xing Zhize, quite famous, as far as Yu Ting knew—a top-tier handsome actor who had married young. His wife seemed to be an outsider in the industry—cute, naive, with a sweet, girlish charm; they appeared well-suited for each other.
She couldn’t quite suss out the second couple. Though their interactions seemed affectionate, something felt off. The woman kept shooting inconspicuous glances in their direction. The man’s name was Zhan Zheng—a top-tier actor, and the woman was Yao Yingying, a rising starlet.
As far as Yu Ting could recall, she had seen them on social media not long ago, displaying their marriage certificate with a bang. They had gained fame while acting together in a show and then announced their speedy marriage, saying they had fallen in love while filming.
No doubt, they were quite sensational.
As she was watching, she felt Lu Nanchen lean towards her and whisper, "Who are you looking at?"
His scent and his voice overwhelmed her, imposing an unconsciously seductive pressure.
"Just looking into space," Yu Ting replied with a soft smile, pulling her gaze back, "Something seems weird."
Lu Nanchen instantly caught her drift, glancing at the second couple that Yu Ting had been looking at earlier. He found himself meeting Yao Yingying’s eyes.
Quickly, under Yao Yingying’s persistent stare, Lu Nanchen discreetly removed his gaze, quickly scanned Zhan Zheng, and retracted his gaze completely.
