Lu Nanchen did not see Yao Yingying. After greeting the two guests briefly, he began to select different ingredients, intending to offer new gastronomic experience to Yu Ting, assuming she must be tired of the usual dishes.
Deeply engrossed in selecting what to cook for dinner, Lu Nanchen hadn’t noticed when Yao Yingying began to inch closer to him.
Lu Nanchen, sensing Yao Yingying’s movement, instinctively recoiled in the opposite direction.
Yao Yingying closed in a small step, but Lu Nanchen retreated a large one.

"Your wife is indeed fortunate to have you. As far as I know, your wife is a strong and successful businesswoman, so I assume her income isn’t significantly lower than yours?"
Lu Nanchen’s admonition silenced Yao Yingying momentarily before she ventured a seemingly absurd inquiry.

"Lower," Lu Nanchen responded, then with knitted brows, turned to look at Yao Yingying. His elongated eyes, high nose bridge, and sharp facial contours were all Yao Yingying aspired to have. For a moment, she found herself bewilderingly enchanted by him.
"Miss Yao, there is no need for you to linger here. You won’t gain anything from me and it could potentially hurt your reputation. I assume your husband is anxiously waiting for you at home."
Lu Nanchen articulated each word clearly, his sharp eyes gleamed in the light.
"Ah...I didn’t...I just thought Miss Yu might have..."
"Hmm? Miss Yao, does my husband not articulate his thoughts effectively enough?"
At the entrance appeared a shockingly different voice; Yu Ting, her left hand resting lightly on her waist, right hand naturally hanging at her side.
Given the warm weather, Yu Ting was wearing a collared short-sleeved shirt and shorts that ended above her knees, revealing her strong legs that could easily kick someone half a meter away.
Having free time at home, Yu Ting decided to pay Lu Nanchen a visit and get some exercise.
She could hear Yao Yingying and Lu Nanchen talking just as she approached the door, upon entering the room, she saw an unexpected scene. Her eyebrows knitted in displeasure.
Upon seeing Yu Ting’s angry expression, Lu Nanchen grew flustered, his stern indifference shown towards Yao Yingying was gone, replaced with genuine concern and gentle tones, "Why are you here? Don’t be mad."
As he spoke, Lu Nanchen moved towards Yu Ting while extending his hand to her.
Yao Yingying, whose ill-intentioned plans were uncovered by the victim herself, wore a strained expression, "There may be a misunderstanding between your husband and me, don’t blame us just yet..." she managed to chuckle.
