Liu Siyuan stared at Yu Ting, lost in thought for a moment, the envy in his gaze intensifying as he turned to look at Lu Nanchen.
How fortunate one must be to have a wife who is both a career woman and a homemaker.
Yu Ting, finding Liu Siyuan’s words puzzling but recognizing the genuine emotion on his face, let her guard down considerably. She laughed and responded, "Don’t be envious. You and Miss Tong also have a loving relationship."
"Sure, we love each other, but disagreements are inevitable...Oh, never mind, I’m off now. You guys should head home soon too," Liu Siyuan took over the conversation, and as he spoke his words trailed off. After changing the subject, he waved goodbye to Yu Ting and Lu Nanchen.
Then he got into the crew’s van and returned to his own lodgings.
As soon as he entered the house, he saw his wife sitting in a chair, wearing glasses, looking serious.
She was reading a script again.
Liu Siyuan quickly guessed what Tong Na was doing. He put the groceries in the kitchen and started preparing.
"You’re back," Tong Na finally lifted her gaze from the script when she heard movement. She glanced at Liu Siyuan’s back and uttered a sentence.
Then she continued reading her script.
"Mm, I brought back some chicken wings that you love," Liu Siyuan said with a smile. His handsome face paired with his gentle smile gave him an air of elegance.
"Great," Tong Na responded without taking her eyes off her script.
And then there was silence. Tong Na continued reading her script while Liu Siyuan prepared dinner in the kitchen.
When dinner was ready, Liu Siyuan called Tong Na to come and eat.
"I’ll be right there, right there," Tong Na responded while holding her cell phone, busy making contact with the director.
This script is pretty good — sign the deal!
Liu Siyuan glanced at Tong Na, who was engrossed in her phone conversation, and chose to wait patiently without lifting his chopsticks.
He waited until the food was nearly cold but Tong Na was still not at the table, busy and excitedly chatting on the phone. Her beautiful face was full of joy.
Liu Siyuan continued to wait for her, without touching his chopsticks.
Having finished her conversation with the prospective film crew, Tong Na put down her phone. She noticed Liu Siyuan still waiting for her and looked surprised for a moment, then her expression changed to one of awkward apology, "I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I was just discussing another play, and lost track of time." 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
At her words, Liu Siyuan’s brows furrowed, "Another one? Isn’t your schedule full already for today?"
"Yes it is, but this play is really good. I’ll talk to my agent after dinner. Time can always be carved out if necessary," Tong Na said nonchalantly.
Though seemingly exhausted, her face was still brightly beaming.
Liu Siyuan thought, she really loves her work deeply.
"Alright then," Liu Siyuan responded with a rueful smile, adding, "but the food has all gone cold."
"It’s okay. It’s summertime. Eating something cold won’t hurt," Tong Na pondered this for a moment before retrieving her chopsticks, preparing to pick up a piece of braised pork.
Her chopsticks were intercepted midair by Liu Siyuan’s.
Looking slightly helpless, Liu Siyuan said, "Never mind, I’ll find a microwave to heat it up or make something new."
The lodging they were staying at didn’t have a microwave.
Tong Na dismissed the idea with a wave of her hand, "It’s fine. No need to waste your time making something new. I’ll finish eating, take a shower, and then discuss this with my agent."
