"Mr. Yu is very generous. I believe it is an excellent decision to cooperate with you. I am sincerely convinced," Chen said, bursting into laughter, fully satisfied with the price Yu Ting offered. "If there is anything you need in the future, feel free to call me."
"I’ll be there at your beck and call."
Yu Ting responded with a seemingly friendly smile, but inwardly didn’t take his offer seriously.
Ask him for help?
God knows how much that would cost.
With this thought, Yu Ting crossed her hands with her fingers slightly moving. She then slowly tapped the knuckles of her other hand, pulled out a freshly printed stock transfer agreement from her bag, and pushed it towards Chen after briefly raising her head.
This man... is greedy.
"Alright, if there’s no problem, why don’t you sign this stock transfer agreement, Mr. Chen."
"Haha, certainly," said Chen. Now that he was satisfied with the price, he was much quicker in handling things and readily took the papers and signed his name on the last page.
It took one hour to negotiate, but only half a minute to sign.
The moment he signed his name, the agreement took effect immediately. Chen put his copy of the contract back on the table with a bang and laughed until his eyes were almost closed.
"Please try the signature dim sum of this restaurant, Mr. Yu. It’s made by a seasoned chef and steamed fresh. It’s a must-try when you’re in Beiqiao City."
After the cooperation was settled, Chen became much more courteous and beamed with joy.
"No need, I’ll try it another day. My wife has prepared dinner at home," Yu Ting apologized and politely hinted that she was about to leave.
"That’s too bad. Well then, Mr. Yu, let’s arrange for another meeting sometime," said Chen, hesitating slightly at first but continued with his friendly demeanor, expressing a slight disappointment as he rose from his seat too.
Whether or not the two parties, with mutual needs, dined together after fulfilling their goals was entirely irrelevant.
Upon receiving Chen’s response, Yu Ting shook hands with him, exchanged a few pleasantries, picked up her bag, and left the box.
She took the elevator directly from the fourth floor to the underground parking lot.
In the dimly lit parking lot, Yu Ting spotted Lu Nanchen waiting motionlessly in the car from her departure spot.
He had just turned off the air conditioner. He rolled down the window to let in fresh air and rested one hand on the window while leaning his head slightly towards the glass; one hand was on the steering wheel, and the other on the gear stick.
Seeing Yu Ting approaching, Nanchen, who seemed lost in thought, became focused. His disoriented state immediately shifted to a much more serious one as he flashed the car’s headlights a couple of times.
As soon as Yu Ting got into the passenger seat, Nanchen immediately turned his attention to her and asked with concern, "That was quick. How did it go?"
Was it too quick, perhaps because she was rejected?
"It was a success."
Yu Ting smiled as she buckled her seat belt, meeting Nanchen’s gaze.
"That was quick, good that it worked out." Receiving a clear answer, Nanchen now turned his gaze forward, ready to start the car and leave.
Yu Ting commented, "Greedy people are always quick to make decisions."
"True."
"Where shall we eat later? Buy groceries to cook at home, or...?"
"Let’s eat out and try something delicious."
"Sure."
