Upon hearing this, Yu Ting swayed her head a little on the phone, laughing with some amusement, and clearly articulated, "The capable rise, the mediocre yield, the mediocre decline, the inferior are eliminated."

After preparing dinner, Lu Nanchen, who had just removed his apron while walking out of the kitchen, said, "Come have dinner as soon as you finish. It’s not good to digest late."

Yu Ting stretched lazily on the bed after wrapping up her work, feeling as light as a feather all over her body. She raised her arms over her head, one hand gripping the other arm as she said in a bored tone.
"Come and hug me."
As she spoke, she beckoned to Lu Nanchen.
It seemed like a typical interaction between a couple, but to Lu Nanchen, it was more significant. He quickly walked over to Yu Ting with the apron he’d taken off draped over the back of a nearby chair. He scooped her up from the bed so that she was sitting on his sturdy arm, her hands gripping his shoulders.
Lu Nanchen slightly lifted his head and asked with a serious expression on his face, "What’s wrong? Your legs are still sore even after I massaged them for so long? Are they very sore? Do you want to go to the hospital?"
"My legs are not sore anymore; I just wanted you to hold me." Yu Ting said candidly. Seeing Lu Nanchen’s anxious expression, a smile unconsciously crept onto her face.
She looked blissful.
"Really?"
"Really."
After receiving an accurate response from Yu Ting, Lu Nanchen relaxed and carried her over to a chair by the dining table.
After a while, Lu Nanchen seemed reflective as he said, "Things have changed, haven’t they?"
"What’s changed?"
Yu Ting asked.
Had she gained weight? Lost weight? Or something else?
The summer evening was still bright outside, the fiery heat contrasting with the cool breeze blowing in the air-conditioned room, making people feel comfortable and relaxed.
"Before, I would hold just you."
"Now, I hold both you and our daughter."
Lu Nanchen said, a genuine smile spreading across his face. He gently put Yu Ting into the chair, leaning down to kiss her forehead.
After a brief touch, he pulled away, and they both laughed as they looked at each other.

Lu Nanchen cupped Yu Ting’s head with his hands, turned his head and placed a kiss on her pink lips.
After living for 27 years, an overwhelming sense of happiness that he couldn’t put into words rose within his chest, more exhilarating than any award he had ever received.
