The sudden thought that popped into Song Yue’s mind startled him, causing him to furrow his brows and ask, "Do you know where the location is?"
"It’s at the Drunken Penglai Restaurant, not far from our company," the secretary confessed.
"What’s the private room number?"
The secretary responded quickly, "I don’t know."
Upon hearing this, Song Yue fell into a brief silence before resuming his pace back to the office. So hurried was his return that he didn’t even notice how swiftly he had been walking, his suit jacket billowing in the wind.
After sitting in his office for a while and swiftly dealing with his tasks, he called over his special assistant.
"Prepare a car. We are heading to Drunken Penglai," Song Yue instructed monotonously as he got his special assistant to prepare the most expensive car while he went to change his clothes.
He also had his hair quickly styled.
By the time Song Yue and his assistant arrived at the Drunken Penglai, 25 minutes had already passed during which they had driven there at the limit of speed.
Once the car stopped, Song Yue exited from the back seat. His hair was soft, and he was wearing a double-breasted blue suit with a dark-colored tie. A pair of golden-rimmed glasses rested on his clean and handsome face.
From the collar to the cuffs of his trousers, everything was crisply pressed.
Song Yue scanned his surroundings as he walked into the restaurant.
His imposing figure naturally caught the attention of the restaurant staff as he effortlessly made his way into the hall.
Though the worth of his outfit from head to toe was considerable, wasn’t his expression a bit too harsh?
Anyone unaware might think he was here to catch a cheater.
With that thought in mind, the server fought an internal battle for a few minutes before managing to plaster a smile on her face. She stepped forward and asked warmly, "Sir, would you like to reserve a table or a private room?"
Song Yue declined, "No need, I’ll look around myself."
Inside the hall on the first floor, there were about ten tables for customers to seat. Song Yue scanned the hall before spotting Ning Xuan at a corner.
Her attire was typical of her work wear. Two middle-aged women sat beside her, opposite whom a man in his twenties was seated.
He was dressed decently enough - a sentiment Song Yue truthfully admitted.
Looking at the group of four, they seemed to be in an awkward silence, not knowing what to discuss.
After Ning Xuan shot down several attempts of her mother and Aunt Liu to kickstart a conversation, the four of them sat uncomfortably, at a loss of what to do.
Ning Xuan was the most anxious of the lot. Had she known this would be so dull, she wouldn’t have come and wasted time she could’ve spent earning money.
"So...Binbin, what do you usually like to eat?" Aunt Liu tried to break the ice.
The man seated responded shyly, "I eat everything. I’m not picky."
"Oh... Xuanxuan is the same as you, she’s not picky either."
Hearing this, Ning Xuan immediately corrected, "Aunt Liu, you got it wrong. I am picky. I don’t eat poultry organs, and I don’t eat bitter gourd too."
"Ah..."
A twinge of pain shot across Aunt Liu’s face before she sealed her lips again.
As Ning Xuan finished speaking, from the corner of her eye, she noticed Song Yue striding toward their table. She stared in surprise.
When Song Yue reached the table, the three others also stared in surprise.
"Boss?" Ning Xuan asked after gazing at Song Yue for a while.
Ning Xuan’s address caused the other three to be taken aback.
Ning Xuan’s mother examined Song Yue from head to toe several times, and then raised an eyebrow to ask her, "This is your boss?" Your boss is so young?
"Yes, Mom," Ning Xuan nodded. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Only then did Song Yue recognize Ning Xuan’s mother, and he greeted her respectfully, "Nice to meet you."
