Chapter 152 Do as the Romans Do
Su Wanwan spent the morning catching up on sleep.
When I woke up, there was no one in bed.
Su Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, she wasn't there, otherwise she wouldn't know how to face it.
This boldness is one thing, but it has nothing to do with being shy.
She had just changed her clothes when Xie Yanning came in, smiling and looking radiant. "You're awake. We'll go out to see them this afternoon."
Su Wanwan tightened her grip on the zipper. "Didn't you say you weren't working today because it's the weekend?"
"This isn't work, is it?" Xie Yanning said. "Are you scared?"
Su Wanwan felt wronged looking at the teeth mark on Xie Yanning's collarbone. How could he go out in public like that? Keeping things private is one thing, but going out in public is another.
"Let's change our clothes," Su Wanwan said.
"???" Xie Yanning: "Isn't this nice?" Su Wanwan rarely interfered with Xie Yanning's clothing and appearance.
Su Wanwan didn't answer, but instead pulled out a turtleneck sweater for Xie Yanning, "Put this on."
Xie Yanning looked at herself in the mirror and suddenly understood.
"You're embarrassed if someone sees me?"
"Because I have a sense of shame," Su Wanwan said.
Xie Yanning obediently changed into it.
Su Wanwan examined herself in the mirror. Good, the marks were all under her clothes. Xie Yanning stepped forward and hugged her. "I really should have kissed other places."
“Yeah, it’s too late,” Su Wanwan retorted.
Xie Yanning met with her friends at Shu Yangqiu's villa, along with several of Xie Yanning's original business partners.
Several people had met Su Wanwan in the video.
But there's definitely a difference between videos and real people. Even after seeing all sorts of beautiful women, I was still slightly shocked.
She is indeed very beautiful; no wonder Xie Yanning has been so infatuated with her for so many years.
Shu Yangqiu had long disliked Xie Yanning's smug look, so she gave Xie Yanning an exaggerated hug, saying, "You've finally decided to come see us." Then she tried to hug Su Wanwan and even wanted to kiss her cheek, but Xie Yanning stopped her, saying, "We Chinese value subtlety; a handshake is enough."
Shu Yangqiu: "..."
Why be so stingy?

"Do you know the saying, 'When in Rome, do as the Romans do'?"
“You’re not American,” Xie Yanning retorted. If you’re not American, why are you so vulgar?
Cong Yuanqing smiled and said, "Hello, we've met before, Cong Yuanqing."
Su Wanwan: "Hello, I remember you."
Su Wanwan remembered all of Xie Yanning's friends.
Su Wanwan even stumbled upon Xie Yanning's video conferences on several occasions.
The white man, Huo Qubing, whose English name was Edward, followed them and learned fluent Chinese. He said, "Beautiful lady from the ancient country of the distant East, please allow me to praise you. You are like a blooming rose, full of vigor and beautiful vitality."
Su Wanwan: "...Thank you."
Who taught you Chinese?
In China, he would be considered a psychopath.
Then Edward looked at Xie Yanning: "Xie, I'm American, may I give you a cheek kiss?"
Xie Yanning's eye twitched: "No way."
This is truly a group of bad friends.
Xie Yanning's cousin, Sang Yizhu, tried to smooth things over, saying, "Alright, enough joking around." She then hugged Su Wanwan, saying, "Welcome over."
After a few lighthearted banter, the atmosphere became much more relaxed.
Edward was the only foreigner present, so he took the lead in adapting to local customs. This dinner was an authentic Chinese-style meal, and it was very unique – hot pot.
The base ingredients were brought by Xie Yanning.
Edward was drawn in by the strong aroma and gave a thumbs up, saying, "The beautiful ancient country of the East is truly amazing."
Su Wanwan: "..." Just who is this white man's Chinese teacher?
Others seemed to take it all in stride and showed no reaction to the exaggerated language.
Shu Yangqiu was so moved that she wanted to cry.
Ultimately, the authentic version is still the one from China.
We hadn't seen each other for almost a year, but our friendship hadn't grown estranged, and we talked about many interesting things during the meal.
Su Wanwan was just as knowledgeable as them, so she could naturally communicate with them.
After finishing their hot pot meal, the group started drinking alcohol.
As the drinking progressed, Shu Yangqiu, still holding his guitar, started singing at the top of his lungs.
Xie Yanning felt very relaxed here and started singing along.
Sang Yizhu said, "I heard that Xie Yanning used to be in a band, and Shu Yangqiu insisted on dragging him into forming one as well, but his singing skills were really not good, so it eventually fell apart."
Su Wanwan smiled as she thought about who she had formed a band with before.
Whether you mind or not, Xie Yanning probably won't sing for anyone else anymore anyway.
"But they're both so good-looking, they could probably rely on their looks alone, right?"
Sang Yizhu chuckled softly, as if she were thinking of something, "He was quite the star back then. Shu Yangqiu was once targeted by the daughter of an African chief, who almost wanted to kidnap him back to Africa."
"What about Xie Yanning?" Su Wanwan asked.
Xie Yanning rarely mentions the past, and when she does, she only touches on it briefly.
“He’s having a pretty boring time,” Sang Yizhu said. Su Wanwan wanted to hear just how boring he was, but then she fell silent.
"??"
No, is it because you're so bored that you can only gloss over it with a single word?
Just as Su Wanwan was about to ask, Sang Yizhu began to hum softly. She turned to Su Wanwan and asked, "Do you know this song?"
The topic was diverted, and Su Wanwan didn't dare to ask any more questions. Then, thinking of her own singing voice, she said, "Come on, my singing would be a disaster."
A classmate once commented on her: "Her voice is nice, but singing is a no-go. How can she sing every single word off-key, and in such a strange way?"
Su Wanwan herself didn't think there was a problem, but the people around her said a few more words, so she thought God had probably closed this door for her and gave up.
Sang Yizhu didn't believe it.
Su Wanwan's voice was very soft, with a gentle tone reminiscent of a woman from Jiangnan. Her coquettishness could melt anyone's bones; how could it be unpleasant to hear?
“I don’t believe it,” Sang Yizhu called out, “Next, our Miss Su will sing a song.”
Xie Yanning, having drunk some wine, was a little excited and playfully pulled her along, saying, "Wanwan, you've never sung a song for me before."
How could Su Wanwan resist a man who knew how to act cute?
She had also drunk a little alcohol and was a bit tipsy. She kissed Xie Yanning and said, "Okay, I'll sing for you."
Su Wanwan had learned some guitar when she was young, and she still remembered some of the sheet music, so she picked up their guitar and sang softly.
Then the entire room fell silent.
Indeed, the voice is pleasant, but the tone is just so strange.
Su Wanwan completely ignored their lives and started singing to herself.
Xie Yanning was now sober.
One cannot have it all.
After they finished singing, the group clapped in unison, their expressions and gestures perfectly synchronized.
Su Wanwan regained her confidence, "I can also sing another song."
Xie Yanning pulled her back, "Why should I sing for them?"
Others: '...'
