Wiping away his tears, Xu Liang said, "I don't know what to do next either. After all, I'm wanted now, and it's inconvenient for me to show my face. But you seem very smart, which is why I thought of traveling with you. We can help each other; you can come up with the ideas, and I'll carry them out. That way, we can survive better." Xu Anran thought for a moment and then agreed, asking, "So, how long is the countdown on your tickets?" Xu Liang replied, "Both tickets have a two-month validity period, which is perfect for us to set off together."
Xu Anran thought the suggestion was good and that they could try cooperating first, but she also emphasized, "Okay, then we can try forming a team first. But the premise is that you must follow my instructions." Xu Liang immediately nodded in agreement, indicating that he was willing to obey the arrangement.
Xu Anran then made a request: "Then give me a train ticket first." Xu Liang took out the ticket from under his body without hesitation and handed it to Xu Anran.
After receiving the ticket, Xu Anran parked the car on the side of the road, carefully examined it in her hand, looked up at Xu Liang, and asked in a playful tone, "Hmm, you're quite honest, giving it to me right away. Aren't you afraid I'll take the ticket and run away?" He gave her a sincere smile and replied, "You won't. You just saved me, I trust you." After saying that, he looked at Xu Anran with unwavering eyes, as if he trusted her completely.
Xu Anran drove to a hotel in the suburbs, stopped the car, and then got out and walked into the hotel lobby.
She skillfully checked in, booked a room, and returned to her car after getting the room key. Pushing an oversized suitcase, she entered the hotel lobby and took the elevator upstairs. Finding her room, she went inside and quickly closed the door, then drew the curtains to ensure privacy. Next, she opened the suitcase, and Xu Liang emerged from it.
After Xu Liang came out, he stretched his body and asked in a low voice, "Girl, why don't you just leave the city? Wouldn't that be safer?" Xu Anran sighed softly and explained, "We can't rush things. Leaving the city now will arouse the police's suspicion. Let's stay here for a day and leave after the police have cleared up their suspicions about me." Her tone was calm and decisive, as if she had considered all possible scenarios and made the wisest decision.
The police officers who were following them didn't find anything suspicious. They went to the parking lot to check the car, but found nothing there either. After reporting to their superiors, they left.
In the early morning, sunlight streamed through the curtains onto the bed. Xu Anran got out of bed, rubbed her eyes, and stretched. She turned to look at the doorway and saw Xu Liang lying on the floor, fast asleep, snoring loudly. Xu Anran shook her head helplessly, thinking, "How can this guy sleep so much!"
She remained vigilant all night, afraid to fall asleep, keeping a stun gun and a gun nearby just in case. Xu Liang, however, slept soundly, completely unconcerned. Xu Anran walked over to him, gently nudged his foot, and reminded him, "Hey, wake up! Time to pack up and get ready to leave."
Xu Liang was woken up by the noise. He opened his eyes groggily, glanced at Xu Anran, and then slowly got up to start packing his luggage.
Xu Anran looked at him, thinking to herself: Fortunately, Xu Liang didn't have any bad intentions last night, otherwise she would definitely make Xu Liang regret his decision.
She turned and went into the bathroom to wash up, then walked out of the room to leave.
After packing, Xu Liang climbed into his suitcase. Xu Anran closed the suitcase, grabbed it, and headed out. They decided to wait until they were out of the city before letting Xu Liang out. After all, Xu Liang was still wanted by the police, so it was best to be careful together.
The vehicle moved slowly towards the highway tollbooth, and Xu Anran nervously watched everything around her. Just as she stopped to pay, she suddenly heard a shout from beside her.
She turned her head and saw a seven-seater minivan parked at the bus stop next to their car. To her even greater surprise, the person who called out to her was Sister Lan, who was sitting in the back seat.
After both vehicles passed through the tollbooth smoothly, they drove a distance and then found a place to stop.
Xu Anran first let Xu Liang out of the car and told him to be careful. Xu Liang nodded solemnly, indicating that he understood.
Xu Anran and Xu Liang got out of the car and walked towards the van at the back. As they approached, they saw the door open and four people get out. Sister Lan smiled at Xu Anran, a hint of surprise in her eyes.
But when she saw Xu Liang, she was clearly taken aback, a sense of surprise welling up inside her. She hadn't expected that there was another person in Xu Anran's car, and a burly man at that. This unexpected situation made her wary.
However, when she looked closely at Xu Liang, she noticed that although he was tall, he exuded a simple and honest aura. Perhaps it was this feeling that made her lower her guard a little.
Sister Lan greeted Xu Anran first: "Anran, I really didn't expect to meet you here!" Her tone revealed surprise.
Xu Anran also seemed very happy, replying, "Yes, we all escaped safely." Her face was beaming with joy.
At this moment, Sister Lan's gaze turned to Xu Liang, seemingly waiting for Xu Anran to introduce them. Xu Anran understood immediately and continued, "This is Xu Liang, I met him on the road, and we decided to travel together. This is Sister Lan, we met in the waiting room."
Sister Lan greeted Xu Liang with a smile: "Hello, Xu Liang, may I call you Xiao Xu?"
Xu Liang nodded shyly, revealing a simple smile as he replied, "Of course, Sister Lan."
His smile made people feel warm and friendly, as if it instantly shortened the distance between them.
