68. Lecture

68. Lecture

24 years old, there are still 5 years for Su Liu.

No one knows what will happen in these five years.

Regardless of whether she can meet the so-called true love, at least during this period, she will no longer be "harassed" by Vion.

Without much hesitation, Su Liu agreed: "Then it's a deal. You won't urge me to get married until I turn 24."

"I am a man who keeps his promises, you can rest assured about that."

At night, Su Liu was organizing documents in his room.

Huo Jie leaned against the door and knocked on it: "Do you have time to chat with me, Su Liu?"

Su Liu raised his head from the pile of books and smiled sincerely when he saw him: "Admiral, you are back."

Huo Jie usually lives in the military headquarters base, or leads his legion to fight across the stars, and he doesn't have many opportunities to return to the castle.

He only took the time to come back after hearing Victor say Su Liu had arrived.

It was the transition period between autumn and winter in the imperial capital. The night sky was full of twinkling stars, and the Milky Way was magnificent like a deep and illusory painting.

Su Liu stood in the garden, looking up at the sparkling starry night.

"It's incredible that such a prosperous city like the imperial capital has no light pollution."

If there were the chirping of cicadas and frogs, it would be just like the summer nights when I was a child in the orphanage, lying side by side on the mat with my brothers and sisters, and seeing the vast starry sky.

But that was the countryside, and this is the most sci-fi city. Seeing such a starry sky is like a dream.

Huo Jie sat on a garden chair under the rose vines. His black shirt blended into the night, making him look like a silent and solemn statue, gazing deeply at Su Liu from beyond time.

"People in the imperial capital have long since satisfied their material needs and are now more focused on the spiritual world. The government spends enough on light pollution prevention and control each year to build several starships just for this kind of night view that will delight children."

Huo Jie never understood what was so special about this kind of scene that can be seen everywhere in the universe.

But now, looking at Su Liu who was staring up at the starry sky motionlessly and exclaiming in amazement from time to time, he more or less understood something.

Su Liu frowned: "Kid, does that include me?"

Huo Jie avoided the question and asked again: "What did Wei Weng tell you?"

Speaking of this, Su Liu's joyful mood became a little heavy.

"Let me get engaged to Ansel first, and then actually get married if I don't meet the right person before I'm 24."

Su Liu didn't think she could meet any true love. With Zhang Yanchen, a scumbag, she wanted to stay away from men as far as she could.

But if there is really no one she likes by then, Victor will never "let her go" again.

Su Liu was very sad about this. He didn't understand why his marriage was always arranged by force majeure, leaving him with no control over it.

Huo Jie was also a little surprised: "You mean get engaged first, right?"

Su Liu nodded.

Huo Jie frowned slightly.

After being released from the small dark room, he specifically talked to Victor and used almost every trick he could think of, including threats and inducements.

Unexpectedly, the old man's apparent compromise and concessions actually only slightly delayed the arrival of marriage.

But, this is also an improvement.

"There are still five years left, and things could turn around at any time. Don't dwell on it for now, prioritize completing your studies."

"Yeah, I know." Su Liu wouldn't keep worrying about the engagement.

Victor only said that they would get engaged first, but he didn't say when exactly.

Maybe next month, Ansel will meet his true love. I believe that even Vion will not forcibly separate this pair of star-crossed lovers.

It was still early, so Huo Jie changed the subject to a more relaxed one: "Tell me about your experiences on Bingling Star. I've always been interested. Purifiers are different from us combatants. From your perspective, there should be more interesting stories."

This was something we had agreed on before, but I didn't expect the opportunity to come so soon.

Su Liu pulled out a chair and sat across from him, beaming with joy as she said, "Let's talk about the sweet shrimp first. These shrimp live beneath the glaciers and are incredibly sweet and delicious..."

She talked incessantly about her experiences, and Huo Jie listened patiently with a smile on his face.

In the attic far away, Victor put down his telescope.

"That's really good progress," he said with a smile.

The deacon stood behind him and asked, "So, when do you want to be engaged?"

“As the old saying goes, haste makes waste.”

Don't be so anxious. What is meant to come will come, as long as it is done before things get out of control.

After staying at Ives's house for one night, Su Liu returned to the hotel the next morning with the rich information provided by Vincent.

The lecture is tomorrow. Today, many purifiers and planters have come from various planets and checked into the hotel one after another.

Shu Delai brought two assistants with him to help Su Liu with some chores that she didn't understand and didn't need to do.

"Don't be nervous, just do what you are best at, and your assistant will take care of the rest for you," said Shudlai.

Su Liu was not nervous to begin with.

She was standing upstairs and happened to see a group of people entering the hotel through the revolving door.

She was a little surprised to see the familiar figure and said, "I forgot she is also a purifier."

"Who?" Shudley asked.

Su Liu looked at Lin Roufang in the crowd downstairs and remembered how arrogant she was in front of him.

The woman was arrogant and conceited, mocking herself for being just an orphan who hadn't even graduated from college. She was no match for her, a purifier, and was not worthy of Zhang Yanchen, who had a promising future.

"If you have any self-respect left, you should break off the engagement, pack up your things, and go to jail for three years.

Anyway, you are still young. When you get out, you can marry an old man, have a bunch of stupid and disgusting children, and live in poverty. This is your fate."

At that time, behind Zhang Yanchen's back, Su Liu heard Lin Roufang mocking him like this.

Life is so unpredictable, Su Liu thought.

What would Lin Roufang think if she saw her?

Su Liu did not go to "recognize" Lin Roufang, but only took his assistants back to the room to make final preparations.

This is her first time appearing in front of her peers as a purifier, so she can't be careless.

The next day, the lecture began.

When Su Liu walked towards the podium, the purifiers and planters below were in disbelief and talked about it.

"I did hear that he's a new purifier, but is he so young?"

"She's too naive. Could this little girl really be so capable as to purify an unknown new species from ancient Earth?"

"Hmm? According to the information, she's an F-class purification technician, and she's a student at a military academy. What's going on? Did she plagiarize other people's academic work?"

"Anyway, let's see how she performs. I believe Shudelai wouldn't let a fool give a lecture."

No matter how people were whispering below, Su Liu blocked out all external interference and ignored Lin Roufang's shocked look, and devoted himself wholeheartedly to the lecture.

Three hours later, the lecture ended and the purifiers gathered around and asked Su Liu more complex questions.

Su Liu answered questions fluently and could give quick feedback on any difficult point, forcing the seniors who had previously doubted her to admit that she had profound knowledge in this area.
