The two bowed first, and Madam Guo told them to get up quickly.
"Why are you two back? Isn't today a day for classes at the academy?"
Guo Shu hesitated and said, "Aunt, my cousin and I asked Mr. Xiang for leave to come back. As for the reason, Mo Tong, you can tell me!"
There are some things he can't bring himself to say.
Mo Tong, Guo Shu's page, was quick-witted and soon recounted the day's events to the guest. Madam Guo was no fool; she understood the meaning behind Mo Tong's words.
After listening, she looked at Duan Kun, her expression somewhat guilty. She knew that Duan Kun was involved in this matter, and Madam Guo was truly furious now.
Her nephew from her maternal family conspired with outsiders to frame her husband's nephew, but their scheme backfired, and she suffered the consequences, losing all face because of Duan Kun.

Madam Guo knew that Guo Shu wouldn't let things go easily, so she wasn't too surprised. Duan Kun had indeed gone too far this time. If Guo Shu hadn't been lucky today, he would have been ruined.

Second Master Guo and Second Madam Guo greeted First Madam Guo outwardly, but after sitting down, they didn't show any pleasant expressions.
