After everyone finished speaking, Mingxiu and Zheng Shuang went to the airport to meet the two people.
Mingxiu didn't express any opinion until after picking up the two people and the four of them started chatting away on their way back.
"We're finally free! You have no idea what kind of life I've been living these past few days." Sun Xue sat in the car looking at the group, and couldn't help but shed a tear of bitterness as she thought about what she had gone through.
Mingxiu found it somewhat amusing. "What's wrong? Our dear young lady, what have you been through these past few days? Why do you feel so miserable? Tell us so we can all have a good laugh."
"Well, I've been living a life worse than death lately, and you actually dare to laugh at me." Sun Xue glared and stretched out both hands to grab Mingxiu, who was sitting in the passenger seat.
Would Mingxiu let her succeed? Of course not. For everyone's safety, she immediately turned sideways and dodged forward, saying, "I was wrong, I was wrong, I was wrong. I won't laugh at you anymore, please forgive me, Miss."
"Hmph, I'll forgive you this time since you can change, but you can't do it again next time," Sun Xue said arrogantly.
"Haha, hahaha, okay, you haven't told us what's been going on with you lately. Tell us and let's see if we can give you some advice," Wu Qianqian said.
"Oh dear, my parents have started making me work at a company again lately. It's one thing to work at a company, but the problem is it's not our own company, it's my boyfriend's company! My goodness, I'm with my boyfriend every day at work, and I'm with him after get off work, and on top of that, I have to endure my parents' constant questioning. How many people enjoy their jobs, let alone those who work with their boyfriends? Lately, she's been feeling down, but her boyfriend's constant doting on her has left her unsure how to express her anger. Luckily, Zheng Shuang invited her over, giving her a chance to finally relax and clear her head.
In fact, when the others heard her complaints, they didn't know what to say for a moment.
"Then you should have a good talk with your boyfriend. Or you could just go back to your own home. It's true that couples who spend a lot of time together are more likely to have conflicts," Zheng Shuang said.
"I want to too, but my boyfriend is just too clingy. As soon as I have that thought, he starts nagging me." Zheng Shuang said helplessly, then suddenly turned to look at Mingxiu, "Xiuer, don't you ever feel this way when you're with your husband all the time?"
Mingxiu raised an eyebrow. "Of course not! My husband and I are inseparable, practically glued to each other 25 hours a day. How could I possibly think that about you? Besides, we can do so many things together. He does his thing, and I do mine—it's super comfortable!"
Mingxiu doesn't think she'll get tired of it. She and Kangxi have been together for so long that you would have gotten tired of them long ago. They've already passed the adjustment period and really like their current way of getting along.
When they have free time, one of them reads a book and practices calligraphy, while the other watches TV and eats snacks. They live in the same room now, but they don't disturb each other.
When something happens, the two of them go together to handle it; they're pretty easygoing.
Mingxiu said indifferently.
The group chatted and laughed along the way, but when they arrived at their destination, they were all astonished and their mouths dropped open when they saw Zheng Shuang's house.
"Wow, that's awesome! Your house is so beautiful, it's really gorgeous!" Wu Qianqian exclaimed.
"Yes, it's so beautiful! It's even prettier than the guesthouses I've been to before," Sun Xue exclaimed, looking around.
"I'm glad you like it. Come on, let me take you to your rooms to rest first. It's getting late. After you've rested, I'll show you around the world the next day." Zheng Shuang said, leading them to their respective rooms.
Mingxiu also returned to her room.
After returning to her room, she locked the door and went inside. When Mingxiu entered, Kangxi was already waiting inside. Seeing Mingxiu come in, Kangxi raised an eyebrow and said, "Oh, our busy person finally has time to come in. I thought you had forgotten about the people at home."
Kangxi spoke sarcastically, and Mingxiu grinned as she ran to his side, snuggling into his arms. "What do you mean? How could I forget you? I could forget anyone but you. It's just that I've been too busy these past few days and haven't had time to go into the space. Don't be angry." Kangxi snorted coldly and didn't say anything more.
"When are you planning to come back?" Kangxi asked casually.
"Let's go in a few more days. We just got here too. And let me tell you, my friend's house here is really beautiful. I'll take some pictures and show them to you. We can come together sometime in the future," Mingxiu said excitedly to Kangxi.
Kangxi nodded, saying that it was acceptable for the two of them to come together.
As he spoke, Kangxi took out a cake from behind him and said, "This is for you. It's your favorite cake. I just happened to have some free time today, so I bought one for you."
Mingxiu's eyes lit up immediately. "Wow, honey, you're so sweet! Give me a kiss!" Yingxiao said, giving Kangxi a quick kiss before happily taking the cake and starting to eat it with relish.
This cake has a milder flavor than regular cakes and doesn't have that greasy feeling. It's especially delicious, but because it's so good, its cakes are always in high demand and short supply. It's usually very difficult to buy one without making a reservation in advance, so I never expected to be able to get one today.
